It is Bert and Ernie, and I have the research to prove it.

Unless you go by "A Muppet Family Christmas", where Ernie introduces 'em himself:

"Oh, hi! We're Ernie and Bert!

Strange...

I thought it was Ert and Bernie.
:frown:

Sorry, couldn't help myself!:stick_out_tongue:

Seriously, though, I always think of it as "Bert and Ernie".

I also think it's more "Bert & Ernie", I just had to get a dig in at Jes...

Though it's interestin', when ya think o' Bert & Ernie, Ernie is almost always on the left in sketches and appearances (at least that's how memory serves), so if you're "readin' " 'em from left to right (how most people read), it's "Ernie & Bert" mentally.

It's "Bert and Ernie."

Or "Bertandernie."

Or even "Bertner Knee," which is what I was considering naming something that needed a name.

You know when you open those cans of biscuits, and they explode? That's scary.

it is weird that we see them as

:stick_out_tongue: :frown:

But call them

Bert and Ernie.

I think it's one of those things where lesser sylabol words come before more sylabol words.
