New book of Jim Henson's Wisdom due in September

Here is some exciting news on a new book of Jim Henson wisdom. Looks like September will be a great month with this book, the Muppet stamps and Fraggle Rock season 1 all arriving.

I'll be buying this book. I know that much. Can't wait. I'm still working on getting "Muppets Works" and "Muppets of Men" books.

Why, oh why, did they have to use that FAKE photo of Jim Henson on the cover? We all know he was originally holding a Bert puppet, not Kermit. It's inside the back cover of "The Works," isn't it? It's bad enough that I'll have to look at the FAKE every time I buy a sheet of Muppet stamps... which will be quite often.

Are we supposed to believe there are NO appropriate photos of Jim Henson out there? C'mon, there are hundreds to choose from. But someone out there wished Jim had been sitting there with Kermit. Once they put a fake photo on the cover, I start to wonder if the quotes inside are genuine.

Is this a book about Jim Henson or about what someone else wishes he was like? I don't think we need to falsify Jim Henson's legacy. I like the real thing, warts and all (apologies to Kermit).

Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to the book. And the stamps.

I agree with you. Knowing that in the original picture he wasn't holding Kermit, it's kind of dissapointing. But someone out there is trying, at least. We'll make it our duty to read the book, and not just judge it by it's cover (hee, that metaphor has never been so fitting).

Got my copy yesterday. I haven't had the time to sit down and read it but Jim Henson is not on the cover of the book. Only a picture of Kermit is on the front and the book is really small. Only a little larger than a cd case.

How much did you pay for the book and/or cd? I am trying to decide whether I should buy it myself now or wait til my birthday/Christmas. My birthday is on December 8th. So many times I will buy things and then I when it comes closer to December I can't think of anything I want. Since I already have Fraggle Rock and Muppet Show season 1 set, that strikes them off the list. Same goes for the first set of Sesame figures. I feel so torn. Are the cd and book 2 separate? Are they of the same stuff? Maybe I can get the book and then wait on the cd. Aaaaaaaaaaahhh!! What should I do?
