Palisades Toys DID make Super Grover as an exclusive tour figure and the first series is coming this fall which features Ernie, Oscar, Guy Smiley, and the Two-Headed Monster! Big Bird, of course, along with his little buddy Little Bird are about to be sold in stores between Series 1 and 2! Series 2 will feature Bert and The Count, and...The Yip-Yip Martians and Roosevelt Franklin??? Palisades plans for the assortment of two popular characters and two fan-favorite characters??? Many other popular characters like Cookie, Grover (non-super), Elmo, Telly, and a few others have gotta be made next year! I'm concerned that the Yip-Yips will not be pack-ins like Frog Scout Robin and Rizzo. Palisades is not planning to make Ernie & Bert's Bedroom and Guy Smiley's Game Show Studio. Big Bird's Nest MAY be made, but the pieces of the neighborhood are about to be made as well.

Well, NOT Sesame Street Unpaved. REGULAR Sesame Street.

Sesame Street Unpaved IS Sesame Street. It is the exact same show with the same characters. There is absolutely no point in making a separate line of figures. Maybe they can come up with exclusives and label them "Unpaved" as to say they are classic versions, for example an orange Oscar or maybe a character that only appeared in the first 2 seasons only. Maybe you mean that the Unpaved line would be a subcategory for the main line. They could consist of characters that we don't see anymore, like Harvey Kneeslapper, Herbert Birdsfoot, Professor Hastings, but they are still in the normal line. Does that make any sense at all? For the most part, however, it isn't necessary.

Sorry, I am not trying to shut down your idea, just being logical.

OK, a few things...

1 Bear, your suggestion for the "Unpaved" label for some exclusives or the obscure unseen characters might work.
2 Unpaved applies to two different things:
a. The book Sesame Street Unpaved, chronicling the first thirty years of Sesame Street the TV show.
b. A total of 67 episodes from the first 20 seasons of SS when they were aired on Noggin, given the term of "Unpaved" so they'd have some sort of hook to get viewers to watch the classic SS episodes.
Now, basically any and all episodes from those first 20 seasons could be thought of as SSU.
3 Guys, look at the date of when this thread was started up... 2002.
That's waaaay back when, three years ago to be exact. Back then, there were certain factors...
a. We only knew of Palisades Toys starting up the Muppets action figures.
b. The classic SS was being shown on Noggin under the label of "Sesame Street Unpaved".
c. Fans were coming up with dream lineups for the Muppets figure line, and along with those pipe dreams we were thinking of what might be... "If" Palisades were to have success with the Muppets figures and got the license for SS, what would they do...
That sort of stuff.

It's not that the ideas put forth by AgentFlash here three years ago wouldn't work, it's just that you're seeing it as a line separate from the actual line we now know today in 2005 to be in production. Don't look at it that way, look at it as a dream lineup back when it was only a wish to have Palisades make action figures of the SS characters. And besides, most of AgentFlash's ideas could be integrated into the future for the actuall SS lineup.

I didn't realize that the dates of when the threads were started were shown. it makes sense now.
