Here's what the Jim Henson Company had to say about the show:

Sam & Friends was aired during the years 1955-1961 It was in the spring of 1955, when Jim began performing puppets on a WRC-TV 4 afternoon show and then on his own show, 'Sam and Friends' that included the following characters: Kermit, Sam, Harry the Hipster, Yorick, Mushmelon, Icky Gunk, Moldy Hay, Chicken Liver, Hank and Frank, the Professor, and Pierre. We have no record of the number of episodes (they were really spots).

About the only place that this archival material can be viewed is at
The Museum of Television and Radio in New York City or Los Angeles.
For your information the museum's address and telephone number in New York City is
25 West 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019, Tel # 212-621-6600.
and in Los Angeles
465 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210, Tel # 310-786-1032
