Muppets Take Manhattan on the big screen!

Regal Entertainment Group will host a very Muppet evening with “The Muppets Take Manhattan” and special guest speaker Roscoe Orman aka Gordon from “Sesame Street” to help support the charitable outreach of the non-profit Puppetry Arts.

After over 20 years “The Muppets Take Manhattan” will be on the big screen for one night only Thursday November 12 at 8pm at the Regal Cinemas Stadium 12 of Court Street, Brooklyn. In “The Muppets Take Manhattan” Kermit and the gang move to the Big Apple to bring their show “Manhattan Melodies” to the Broadway stage when Kermit goes missing!

Helping to celebrate this original 1984 movie with the classic Jim Henson Muppets this evening will have a pre-movie event welcoming the one and only “Sesame Street Dad” Roscoe Orman who will talk about his experiences as Gordon working with Jim Henson and the “Sesame Street Muppets.” There will also be movie-fun giveaways and a performance by the cast from the Puppetry Arts musical “Anthropomorphic” which will showcase this December 12 and 13 at the Court Street Regal Cinemas.

Supporting the community outreach of the Brooklyn-based organization, Regal Entertainment Group has partnered with Puppetry Arts for over 5 years, giving the charity a venue to accomplish it’s mission helping to make Puppetry Arts programs accessible to all communities.

It is the goal of Puppetry Arts to offer creative outlets and cultural exploration to all individuals through the multidisciplinary art of puppetry by providing a venue for emerging artists, innovative teachers, and community members to facilitate youth development, enrich family activity and otherwise engage and entertain the population.

Honestly what's the big deal with New York anyway? Everything's always "New York this", "New York that"...what's wrong with the good ol' OLD YORK?

Well, you see, OLD York is British. It's unpatriotic.

seems like

http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Episode_0798

or... robot chicken

The Swedish Chef is featured in a segment walking down the street finding things rhyming with "bork," including Björk, Mork (Mork and Mindy), a dork, York, Quark (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Peter Tork (The Monkees), Zork, pork, a fork, a spork, and an orc (Lord of the Rings).

I think it should be a world wide event.
Like, for 2 weeks only The Muppets Take Manhattan
on the Big Screen. That would be cool.

For those of us who won't be able to make it to this (myself probably included), the Jacob Burns Film Center is also coincidentally showing The Muppets Take Manhattan as part of their family films program on December 19, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27. All at 12PM. More info here:
