Pat Buttram

XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS:

This week's V/A focus is the late Pat Buttram who passed away in 1994. You might remember Pat from his role as Mr. Haney from Green Acres and Pat also made an appearance as a bar patron in Back To The Future 3. Pat had a familiar southern voice I could always recognize and was famous for doing voicework for a lot of classic Disney movies.

THE ARISTOCATS: Napoleon
EVIL ROY SLADE: Narration
THE FOX AND THE HOUND: Chief
GARFIELD AND FRIENDS: Cactus Jake
THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE HUCKLEBERRY HOUND: Red Eye
A GOOFY MOVIE: Possum Park Emcee
THE RESCUERS: Luke
ROBIN HOOD: Sheriff of Nottingham
TINY TOON ADVENTURES: Bicycle Bob
WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?: Bullet #1

Aw, Pat Buttram is AWESOME! I remember hearing his voice as a child and then when I first actually saw him as Gene Autry's side-kick (and later Mr. Haney) it was so cool. Pat's definitely a favorite of mine and I believe a book is being written about him (because when I was still a TV Tome editor and I was in charge of the Pat Buttram page there, the author of the book e-mailed me asking if he/she could use the information I provided on TV Tome in the book).
