Alan, the proprietor of the store on Sesame Street, maker of the killer bird seed milkshake is appearing in the musical 'Pacific Overtures' at North Shore Music Theater in Beverly, MA.

And I get to dress him. Yay!

How cool is that? Hey, ask him what it's like to work with 'the bird!!'

The run is until September 14th. I haven't asked him about the bird yet. I did ask him how to make a birdseed milkshake though. He's really a great person to work with. In one scene he plays the Madam of a house full of Geisha who are ladies of the night. Not to be confused with regular geisha. I'll have to get more sesame info from him. :)

I know HOW you DRINK a birdseed milkshake: with a straw.

Well big bird is the one that drinks them. I don't know how, I asked but he didn't tell me. He just laughed because I was also talking about how cute I think Muppet feet are.

You're dressing someone from our favorite tv show and who is working with our favorite characters and performers, and you ask him about the FEET OF MUPPETS!?!

Gee, I need to give you Fanboy lessons!!

All this action and interaction going on with Alan and you discuss the feet when you KNOW there are more pressing matters in the world, like "How do you MAKE birdseed milkshakes!!"

I have to be professional here guys. He is in the show and I am his dresser. I am working on getting in the pressing questions. I promise I will let you know! BTW I was talking about Muppet feet before I realized who he was. When I first met him I thought he was in commercials or something and that's why he was familiar to me. I didn't recognize him on the first day sorry!

I'm curious how you brought up the conversation of Muppet Feet? LOL!! That's funny to me somehow...and I dunno why!

Okey dokey, Here's the thing, I didn't realize he was Alan from Sesame Street when I was talking about feet. In the show there is a puppet that is supposed to be the new emperor of japan at the age of one. He has cute little feet. I was saying how I love puppet feet. And that just the other day I was watching sesame street when Ernie was in the bathrun singing about rubber duckie and he put up his feet to scrub them. Aren't muppet feet just the cutest things? BTW does anyone know that song and when it was made?

It was proubly "Do De Rubber Duck" and I think it came out in 89'.

Puppet feet are cute. Whenever I take Muley's shoes off, folks always fuss over how cute his little toes are.

Then they stand there and try to tickle his feet, but having had his feet evolve from hooves, he isn't ticklish.

HA! I love it! Does Muley like to take his shoes off?

Sometimes. He either wears clothes or he doesn't. There's a pic of the MuleySuit without shoes on at www.picturetrail.com/muleythemule

I'm the single, solitary performer. Once in a while my best pal Lin (who IS the Vice-President of Mule Operations) will perform the MuleySuit for me or Buford the Dog puppet.

I want to create a puppetry association here in town, but I haven't had time yet.

Congratulations! I saw Alan as secondary characters in two Broadway shows before he was on SS. I saw him as a dancer in My Favorite Year with Tim Curry, and in a revival of the King And I with Marie Osmond. I think he's extremely talented, and I'm glad that they handed over the ownership of Hooper's to such a great performer.
