Thanks for the scoop man! Ok, this is so cool!
For those of ya who wanna save the picture its here:

http://www.weezer.com/karlscorner/8/20020619vid01.jpg

Too cool! I see Piggy, fozzie, pepe, a penguin, and ROWLF!!!

I like geeky indie rock, so this is perfect they are in a video.
Do you folks know how much more Muppet fans we'll pick up cuz of this?

All I can say is the Muppets are definately on their way back to the public eye!

BTW, how cool is it seeing a brand new pic of ol brown ears?

Weezer recorded their new album in the Henson owned Charlie Chaplin studios (I think thats right, if not someone will correct me) It may just be a publicty shoot photo. I don't know if the Muppets would be in a Weezer video. On the other hand, everyone remember the "Buddy Holly" video with clips from Happy Days. So perhapes they will be in the video (I'm sure they wouldn't have been in the video for hash pipe though)

Acording to someone on a muppet fan group on livejournal, the muppets are indeed in the video. He cannot say how he knew this (thus I can not verify the validity of the claim other than the photo), but he said they were making a video that would be "like an episode of the Muppet Show".

I'm believing this because of the news post directly before the one with the photo of the muppets on the weezer sight. It mentions "guests" who had them all laughing, and that the second day of the shoot was going to be the plot scenes of the video which would have more of these "characters". That does seem rather muppet like.

Again, acording to the guy who cant back up his claims, this video should be coming out around the 1st of July.

People still do Livejournal? That was so 2001;)
Its still weird to hear of Muppet clubs/groups outside of MC.
Oddly enuff, the Weezer site makes no mention of our furry friends, but because of the photo I suspect they are the stars of the video...in which case this is HUGE great news!
Time for your pocket protector and Atari shirt!

The pig is being dumped on, you nard. Notice how the guy is tied up and is, like, grimacing?

Oh, and that supposed kiss in the Christmas special? Ain't gonna happen. What's left of the Henson gang is up to their old sad tricks.

It is a recreation of the muppet show set built just for the video. the backstage was built along with piggy's dressing room. the backstage looks very similar to the old set, but it's not 100% the way it was in the old show.

This spoovy-worthy geeky indie rock band, kind of in that nerdy college rock vein. very cool! And that pic of the Muppets together with them is too cool!

Cool stuff - it seems puppets and nostalgia characters making appearances on TV are the 'in' thing right now. First ya got ALF in 10-10-220 commercials, then ya got that Blink 182 video where theres Oompa Loompas and Mr Miyagi. Sounds like fun !

The Happy Days video rocked !

*drools* *faints* *wakes up*

This is one of the greatest days of my life! My abosolute favorite band and my absolute favorite tv stars together in a video! Wow! You guys should really pick up Weezer's new CD Maladroit. And by the way, keep fishin', the song in the video, is a really great kind of ska-ish tune. You should really download it!

In reality the "Alf" ads are just about as successful as the Pepe ones for "Long John Silver" - and market research suggests that the prawn was actually repulsive to some viewers. As for the "Dennys" ads, you can expect more of the same. Some things can't come back. The Muppets are a novelty act that couldn't stand the test of time. The last Muppet movie - built around Gonzo of all characters (talk about repulsive) - flopped miserably, remember? CGI is what kids and adults like when it comes to 3-D characters. Who wants to watch talking socks anymore?

Oh, I get it, this is spose to be a parody of a disaffected lurker?

I think I can hit the J.O.S.H. alarm;)

And oh yessss, cgi is used sooo effectively. Like Scooby Doo and Free Willy 2!

What I want to know is what the story of the video is, who came up with the idea, etc etc etc. I'm really excited about this. Weezer has done some really cute videos in the past, and had some really great songs too.

Henson would LOVE to make the kind of money even substandard CGI can help a movie rake in. ;) And speaking of "Scooby Doo" - that's a pretty old property, but it did just fine as a movie. Part of the reason is that, unlike "The Muppet Show", which virtually nobody will watch anymore, the Scooby cartoon is constantly run on Cartoon Network and elsewhere, so today's kids are up on it, even though it's something their parents once watched. The fact that "Scooby Doo", as lame as it was, is today still popular and is also waaaayy more popular than Kermit the Oven Mitt is a real kick in the butt for the doll-wigglers up at HA! ;)

yeah!!! the new photo's are great! that back stage would be perfect for the new show!!!

gonzo, camilla(or just a chicken)animal and pepe are shown!

what about RIZZO!!! where is he? he really has been dumped on this year, no nascar but pepe gets one, no busts but because he wasn't a major character back then, i haven't even seen any new stuff like the stuff at hot topic and spences with rizzo just mainly kermit, piggy and animal, my brother saw female kermit pantys at hot topic yesturday.eek:
there was a new muppet sticker that he ripped off the tage and gave to me, oh Alex...i guess it was nice thing to do,

Zack)Rowlf the, he bought me a kermit mirro for my graduation thought;-)Dog.

it's the muppet show. weezer is the special guests. right when that are about to take the stage they realize their drummer is missing. the remaining band members are backstage asking kermit what they should do. kermit says for them not to worry, they've handled stuff like this before and they handle it (he hopes). the crowd is cheering for weezer to come out which prompts gonzo's line, wow! i've never been apart of a show people actually wanted to see.

meanwhile, in piggy's dressing room we find pat, the drummer, tied to a chair. piggy asks if he can resist her. he replies, i cannot, right now, i cannot.

kermit nervously intros the band and the music starts. animal is playing drums with the band.

piggy is looking in her closet for something to wear and pat shuffles over in the chair and slams the door locking her in. he then hops out of the room still tied to the chair.

during the song the other muppet join weezer on backing volcals while pat hops through various scenes like the chef's kitchen and muppet labs. as he hops backstage, the chef taking a swing at a chicken slices pat's ropes freeing him and they all wind up on stage for the big finale.

cute vid.

Hello Jamie,

Hey don't forget Statler and Waldorf! what's odd is that there is no Rizzo,as goes for the Nascars, he's not even in any of the photo's or clips.

JohnFranklin seems to know much on the video and posted a cast list, i'm wondering if that random bunny is Bean Bunny, still very funny that there is no Rizzo.

if Statler is not in this as he wasn't posted along with Waldorf that means Jerry Nelson's characters aren't a part of this, seeing that we don't see Robin or Floyd in it either.

the Electric Mayhem would be neat as so Scooter as well.

you can never have the "whole" gang together, I hope to see the whole Muppet gang together someday, someone is always left out! and i don't mean like lips, mildred, droop, or uncle deadly characters, I mean like Bunsen, Scooter, Rizzo, and the Swedish Chef.

Zack)Rowlf the, I'll just mention that there is no Sam the Eagle and Sweetums in this video as well, but at least there is Rowlf!!!Dog.

And I have a feeling this video and song are going to be one of the biggies of the summer party music season. Every summer there always has to be 2 or 3 fun songs that hit it big. If the song doesn't, I have a feeling the video will. For Weezer to have gone to this much trouble with the sets, the Muppets, etc., the music reps will no don't be pushing this song on a lot of stations. I know that Sunday was the first day I had played it on the air, and I have a feeling it will be a crossover hit (that is played on various station formats)

This is definitly the coolest news I've ever heard! This will be the best music video EVER! Forget "Video Killed the Radio Star", "Smells Like Teen Spirit", this will be the best video of all time! Oh yeah, Weezer's my favorite band, so I'm very excited. The song's not ska-ish at all, more rock-pop, but it's great. My faith in Weezer is now completly back, their last album and main single (hash pipe) seemed to be going in a different direction that I didn't like as much, but this (and their new album) make up for any second of doubt I ever had. I can't believe Scooter's not in it though! Scooter should be the ultimate nerd rock fan! Oh man I want merchandise with Kermit and Gonzo wearing =w= t-shirts!
