Very cool. That looks like a new design. Though I could be mistaken.

Yeah. Keep in mind that Robin wasn't in the Vincent Price episode. The design does look new.

Personally, now that I know who he is, I wouldn't want the uncle deadly figure everyone is calling for. He just wouldn't look right with my collection. Maybe if it came out around October it would sell well.

that's interesting., I had bever seen that pic beofre either. This game was released a few years ago (2000, I think) and while the pic IS cool, Uncle Deadly is NOT in the game. the charcrs in the game include Robin, Kermit, Gonzo, Piggy, Fozzie, Clifford, Bunsen, Beaker, Pepe, Rizzo and a cameo by the Swedish Chef. No Uncle deadly. Although I had heardat one point that amongst television prjects beign tooled aound was somehitng called "Uncle Deadly's Hosue of weirdness" It was supposed otbe som kind of Saturday morning cartoon show thing I think along the lines of the old Saturday night Monster movie show that ran in the mid-50s and 60s or "Tales for mthe Crypt" where there woudl eb a different cartoon every week hosted by Uncle Deadly. I don't jbow if it will ever see the light of day. I doubt it. Anyway, hope this help clear some stuff up.

That pic was taken at the same time Muppet Monster Adventure was being released for the Playstation.
So that means, Up until two years ago the Uncle Deadly puppet still lived !
I thought the entire face was foam, But this must not be the case.
They have had him for all this time and not used him, So i doubt they will use him now.

Warrick, are you sure that's a new (2000) photograph of UD? I'm thinking it's very likely that it was Photoshopped. If they did pull UD out of the closet after all these years, that would indeed be very cool.

It looks like he's not wearing all the heavy robes he wore in TMS.

I believe it is just an old picture as well.

That is definitely a Photoshop composition where an old puppet was used. It surprises me that some think it's a real photograph. It isn't really done that well in my opinion. It's still great to see Deadly back. :excited:

Not to mention how much cheaper it was to Photoshop it rather than dig up or rebuild the puppet :concern:
I'd love to see him show up in the new series

Yeah, the head does look a bit 'different' to the body somehow, But the body must have been there.

I too, of course, would love to see an Uncle Deadly halloween-y, weird-y kind of show. The only reason I don't see it happening is because Uncle Deadly isn't as much of a big-time Muppet star as other characters, which in turn would be less of a draw for viewers. (Unless JHC would be releasing it in an attempt to draw viewers without a big Muppet name, which wouldn't be half bad in and of itself, though it would be a risky one.)
It kind of goes along with one of the pessimistic views of the all-Muppet TV channel; Muppet fanatics can't support it all by themselves. Thus, a bigger name would equal a bigger draw, etc, unless they wanted to go by word of mouth, passer-by viewing, full advertising (stating that Uncle Deadly is in fact a Muppet rather than just another new character), etc.

People wouldnt need to really know that he was on The Muppet Show, It could just come out as a show on its own.
Other shows that get produced dont always have a big star from another series, Or a star at all.
I think kids would like it, I think that it would be aimed towards children...

Like I said, releasing it on its own is a fine idea by me, but there are factors to be considered from JHC's point-of-view.
I assume they want a series with some longevity. Sure there are dozens of shows put out each year that are without big names, but there are few that make it past a first season. Should they want it to run longer than say "The Ghost of Faffner Hall" (13 episodes), then there must be a ploy to draw non-Muppet fan viewers.
I'm sure kids will like it too. Muppets and kids have clicked for a pretty long time. :D

...and I'm wondering if rewatched is a word.
No, no...what I wanted to say was that Uncle Deadly appears in the foreground of the closing number. JA sings "Whistle a Happy Tune" while being mobbed by various full-body muppets and a couple of regular ones.
I bet if we really looked, we'd see him in the background of a number of shows.

Something tells me Dave Embersole or Philip Kippel would LOVE to sit and watch for UD in the backrounds...:D
They are rockin' Muppet researchers, if you didn't know. ;)
