This series is available for purchase at the Toonarific (http://www.toonarific.com) archive. So you don't have to go out of your way to get it.

Are they good? Well, MuppetDanny, I can't say for sure ... maybe one of these days I'll trade for the series (would any of you recommend it?). Then again, that site has a LOT of good videos to offer that I drool over ... The Inspector, George of the Jungle, the Pink Panther, the Popeye Show, etc. They even have MOST of the Fraggle Rock series, the whole Jim Henson Hour series, and even a tape of Hoobs episodes!

If you've got as big a collection as I do, and you know what they're missing, thereby making it possible for you to trade with them, buddy, you're in luck. If not, they also accept cash through PayPal.

I'm currently cooking up a BIG batch of Unpaved episodes for them, in exchange for some good stuff ... including some Unpaved I'm missing, and two unaired JHH episodes. I'll see how it goes, and report on it, for those of you who are curious if you should deal with them. getup has dealt with them before, for Fraggle Rock of course. I myself would rate their FR epiosdes as "fair to very good".

Hi all

Just to say that Toonarific were under discussion some time ago and I just wanted to let you all know that I have tried to trade with them - we made our trading arrangements and they answered my e-mails until I e-mailed them to say I had sent them the tapes I made for them, but they now refuse to answer my e-mails (which are requests for them to send the tapes they have supposedly made for me). So no communication, no tapes and now I can't seem to get on to their website either. I would recommend that no trading is done with them as I have wasted a lot of time and spent money on tapes and it cost me a lot of money in postage from England to the USA . I hope this information at least will help someone else. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has any experience of Toonarific.

See ya :)

Yeah, I'm currently not too eager to do any future business with them either. The last time I tried contacting them (today) I got this response:

THIS IS A TEMPORARY TOONARIFIC EMAIL AUTO-RESPONSE
We are in the process of moving locations, so many processes have been slowed down considerably. If you are emailing regarding an order you placed, please know that we are working on them as fast as we can during this transition. We are also having the internet lines installed in the new location, so I will not be near my email account frequently, so answers to emails may take a few days before are returned. Thanx for your understanding.

That e-mail could explain why I couldn't get on to their site.

What kind of response do you get when you ask them how's the videos doing? - I keep getting something like "it should be done in couple of days"

See ya

oh BTW - Did you like my last batch of tapes?

Here's what I heard from Aaron on 4/17, in response to a question of how my tapes were doing:

they coming along fine. mix and match take time, especially when I still have to edit the stuff I record plus do regular orders. I hope to have them done soon

In addition to that, he's replied to every message I've sent him, except today.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm

Something's fishy :concern:

I last sent an e-mail to Aaron on 15/05/03 and nothing :boo:

Aaron last replied on 17/04/03 (the same day I sent the tapes)

Quite right. I am still looking over everything you sent, as well as getting my lists in order. Summer is a mere 8 days away though, so I'll shoot you over an email pretty soon.

Btw, note to all traders - I believe, although I am not certain, that I have a 3rd-party contact who can do PAL/NTSC conversions, and hopefully vice versa. It is a bit up-in-the-air right now, but when I get back into trading full-fledged, I will get that side worked out. I'm sure that advantage will prove VERY helpful the International Muppet Trade Group.

Hmm...I'm on to something...

Update: I email them again today, and this is what I get ...

THIS IS A TEMPORARY TOONARIFIC EMAIL AUTO-RESPONSE
We are currently out of the country (June 6-June 18), and will be returning soon.
If you are emailing regarding an order you placed, please know that we are working on them as fast as we can and will complete the remaining orders on our return.

Well, at least he's being specific about when to expect him back.

Guy's
I Just found out I have been "blacklisted" (http://www.toonarific.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=272) on toonarific.com. (Arron Higgin's website). He has not told the real story. What he has written is very misleading. I can disprove what he says. I am sorry our disagreement seems to be public, but I have found that he is not an easy person to deal with.

So should I go ahead and conduct my business with toonerrific.com? Or would it be better to just go ahead and trade/purchase what I should need in the future from BooberGorg? Thanks for your help and have a good day.

It's your decision who you decide to do business with, Count. But if you decide to go with toonarific, be prepared to wait a while for your video or videos.

Okay, can anyone help me out with this? I've been trying to get my hands on episodes 2 and 9 of GoFH and have run into dead ends, and I don't particularly want to do business with Aaron again. I don't have anything to trade because I don't know how to copy tapes to save my life, unless someone wants a few episodes of Fraggle Rock in .avi format (DiVX codec). Those at least I can burn onto a CD-ROM. I am willing to pay for any expenses to make the tape: cost of the videotape, shipping and handling, etc.

So, can anyone help me?

Exactly. It's really up to you. Both Aaron and Danny have presented their sides of the story, and misunderstandings can sometimes ensue in these situations. The same thing happened to me: Aaron told me I never gave him my address, when I knew I had. But that didn't stop us from doing business with each other. He's since confirmed me that I have more tapes on the way, inc. the TNT version of TMS Liberace which supposedly has a scene not on the DVD. :D Also, Aaron has told me he's willing to send Danny's tapes to me so I can convert them and send them to Danny, but Danny told me no thanks.

We traders always want our customer to be satisfied, and never leave a trade unfinished. My suggestion: deal with Aaron if you want the stuff a generation higher, but deal with me if you want faster shipping service (and more preferable sound quality ;)). Like I said, it's up to you. It all depends on your patience vs. your judgement of tape quality.

The G Man has spoken. Nyaaaahhh.

PS. And Kim, since I'll be getting (what would have been) Danny's tapes, this means I can help you out ... ;)

Thanks for your responses. Guess I'll probably end up going for a deal with BooberGorg (The Muppets Oracle) in the future. But as for now, I'm in the midst of a deal with Justin Faulknor, who's rully great to deal with. Thanks and have a good day.
