Hey everyone. I'm new here.
Basically I'm doing a Model design and Character creation university course in the UK.
For my current project i'm going to attempt to make a Sesame Street Elmo style working puppet. Thought someone on here could maybe point me in the right direction for a pattern or some advice.
Tutorial maybe. Something cheap. Cheers!

The Mostro pattern at projectpuppet.com is pretty good, and very Elmo-y:

sry.. its copy right... so we cant share patterns... however if you do some research and figure something out... we can tell you there are websites with patterns close to the design you're looking for, but you have to tweak it here n there.

I think http://www.projectpuppet.com/ would be a good start.

If this is for a design course shouldn't you be designing the character and making the pattern yourself?

BURN!
Yeah, a round head shape wouldn't be too hard to figure out, even just through trial and error.

Hmm. I don't have $60 to spare right now. And I know it's all copyright and that, but I only want it to be Elmo style. Just a similar shape. I have some upholstery foam, and was just looking for advice on darting and glueing. I'll work something out.

If you're looking for a round pattern, I can't help but do some blatant self promotion... I sell a beginners pattern called the Round Head Foam Puppet Pattern (http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/shop.php/round-head-foam-puppet-pattern).

Otherwise, why not find the Blue Boy pattern (it's free...) and use that?
