I saw this a few minutes ago on the local midday news. It was really hard to take in as I grew up listening to his voice work on the Don Bluth movies of the 80s. And lets not forget his roles with the Muppets.
His work made me smile and he will be missed.

That totally almost killed me. Talk about you're terrible shocking news... he truly was one of the great ones, and now he's gone. That's just too depressing for words.

Thanks for posting that voice focus, Xerus. I was just about to request one.
In that particular episode of Ren and Stimpy (Aloha Hoek), he played a spot on parody of Marlin Brando. I never heard him do a Brando impersonation before. And on Duck Dodgers, he played a mobster with long time co-star Burt Reynolds (they need to put that series on DVD... really they do).

I just found out from a friend today who was telling me about a clip they saw of him on the Muppet show over the news and that he had died. It shocked me as my friend didn't know that i was a fan of Dom DeLuise and i didn't know that he had died! He was just telling me that he saw something on tv with the Muppets.
I have been a fan of Dom DeLuise my whole life. i first saw him in the Muppet movie, but i knew of him more as voice Itchy from All Dogs go to heaven as well as his other Don Bluth movies. Itchy has always been one of my favorite cartoon characters and i act a lot like him. I loved DeLuise voice and seance of humor, just the way he talked and worded things. My grandmother has used his cake recipe in the past and i remember when i was younger i heard her mention his name and that is where she got the recipe from. It was for my birthday cake that year and i think i was in 6th grade at the time, i remember my brother and friend saying "who?" as i inquired more about him to my grandma. I really wish i had wrote to him. He will be missed very much! :sympathy:

He was a great comic actor. I loved him in the Mel Brooks film "Silent Movie".
And of course I loved him on The Muppet Show and the first Muppet Movie.
I really love the sketch he did on TMS with Doglion, Mean Mamma and Luncheon Counter Monster.
I'm gonna miss him, All right.

I really liked Dom's performance as Kossalagoopagoop or Koosy on Dexter's Lab. He was Dee Dee's imaginary friend just like Mr. Snuffleupagus. There was one scene where Koosy was cooking a giant burrito filled with meat. I believe that was a tribute to Dom who is also a good cook.

Oddly enough, my first exposure to Dom was when he served as the host of a documentary on Laurel and Hardy. He's also participated in Marx Brothers tributes. Interesting how he seemed to become the go-to guy for celebrating comic legends. I think it's because he had the ability to be funny, yet an ordinary guy at the same time. Just like in The Muppet Movie, he's funny but also the straight man to Kermit's puns.

It's sad that he passed away. I read about it on the shownotes on the Mother's day episode of the Muppetcast recently. I loved his voice and his humor as well as his work with the Muppets.
RIP Dom

His death hasn't really hit me completely yet. He's been around so long, since I was growing up, it's hard to imagine life without Dom. He was a very versatile actor, chef & had a beautiful and generous heart. He will be missed greatly.
