Hello all! I know I posted here a while ago but I can't find the original post. I just wanted to remind everyone that I am VERY interested in buying Sesame Street prototypes from the now defunct Palisades. I've got a couple and I see some pop up on e-Bay now and then. If anyone would want to sell, or possibly trade, I would be open to it.
Also, does anyone here know who might have any of the proposed series 2 protos (Cookie Monster, The Count, Bert, Elmo) or the Big Bird or Little Bird proto?
Just let me know. Thanks!

Sadly, I don't think even Ken has either the :insatiable: nor :batty: sculpts, and that's all they were, prelim sculpts. I do believe he at least has photos and I plan on asking those from him at some point. But I'd also be interested in tracking down the sculpt of my namesake.

Hey Count!
He does have the pictures. I asked him for them a while ago but he had them on his old computer and hadn't gotten them off of it (or something along those lines). I'm keeping a log of what has been on e-Bay since I got the 2HM. I also tracked down most all the pictures that are/have been online. Unfortunately, I didn't get the ones that were on the old Palisades forum. I remember there was a Bert and Elmo sculpt. I found this pic online. Someone photoshopped in all of the figures into one pic...

Man, these would have done so darn well! If Palisades had another year in business this would have pulled it back up. I can only imagine what a Snuffelupagus would look like. That thing would have been friggin huge! I still objected to separating Ernie and Bert by waves. This had so much potential. :(

Yeah... And 2, 2 proposed Count sculpts/figures. One with sculpted cape, another with cloth cape. That pretty much almost killed me. Truly thankful to have the S1 guys here with me, but what coulda been...
Is there any way to isolate the pic of the Count sculpt, if it's there, and put it next to others? Reason is to get the image of the sculpt of course. But also to get a guesstimate of comparative height to other figures, like say Kermit or Uncle Deadly, crucial for my pet projects' thrival.

Sorry, Count. That's the only pic I have of him. Maybe if you bug Ken about those pics, too, he'll be more inclined to get him off his old hard drive? I remember those pics on the old forum. I about pooped my pants when he showed Cookie Monster in his daily bit, or whatever it was called.
Yeah, Frogboy4, I really would have liked to see both Ernie and Bert in the same wave. But I see why they did it. It would have given wave 2 a definite selling if it were to get that far.

*sigh* That picture makes me so incredibly sad... I love my Super Grover figure, but... to own an Ernie, Bert, Oscar, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Telly, Prairie Dawn, Count... Ugh. I would've been in heaven. Those sculpts are gorgeous. It's such a shame. Such a crying shame.

I've got just about every Palisades Muppet-related proto pic saved, here are some of the best of the SS gang, including a size comp I did myself & originally posted on the old Pal board ages ago.

EDIT: I've got more pics, but sadly, no protos (though they wouldn't be for sale if I did! Sorry Drummer. :) )

You have no idea how happy you just made me! I, like the Count, would love to see more of the pics you have. You can pm me and I can get you my e-mail address if you want and/or have time.
Also, you wouldn't happen to know where these ended up, would you? I'd love to shoot some offers in his or her direction.

Thanks! I had a blast doing it.
I never saw a picture with Little Bird actually next to another figure, so I had to guestimate his size based on other pack-in figures' sizes. You'd probably be able to guess his height better than anyone here Jamie, do you think he'd be smaller or bigger?
I'd be more than happy to e-mail pics or post 'em on Flickr, I just need to find another half an hour to convert them all to JPEG's and upload 'em, ha. I've got more Sesame, the Muppet Babies, and Muppet variants & mini's. Does that cover it? There may be more, dunno.
Saved all these cuz I'm hoping to find the time SOMEDAY to make a lot of my own figures. 'Course I'd trade 'em all for a Sal!
Cheers,
:)
Anthony
EDIT: Forgot to add that no, I don't know where the actual protos ended up. Whenever Ken or someone else at PAL posted these pics, I just snapped 'em up! :batty:

Well... Knowing if you have pics of the Baby Kermit and Baby Piggy, Sal Minella, Vet's Hospital, Muppets Wizard of Oz, Gobo Fraggle, and SST protos would be a big help for later on down the road.
But my questions for now are:
1 Do you have an isolated photo of the sculpt of the Count?
2 About how tall would you say the sculpt of the Count is?
3 Do you have photos showing or how would you say the sculpt of the Count compares heightwise against both the Kermit and/or Uncle Deadly figures?
Thanks for your help with this, take care and have a good night.

Quick question... What are all of the SST characters in Anthony's proto pics?

Thanks for the info Drtooth. Another quick question... Since I have Ernie, about how much taller would you say the sculpt of the Count is compared to him in the group photo?
Also, I'd love to get at least the single photos of the sculpt of the Count. Hope Anthony checks back in soon.

Basically, the height difference is the same as between Bert and Ernie. The count is the same size as cookie Monster and Bert. The Count is about a quarter of a head taller than Ernie.
Just noticed the scale is different again on the link provided by the 80's drummer. In that link,
the size difference between Ernie and Bert is greater(about half a head difference) and cookie monster is taller than Bert, but the Count and cookie are still the same size.

Thanks for that info. So, going by KermieBaby47's pics... If the Count sculpt is a quarter head taller than Ernie, and these were initial sculpts, that makes me think that from sculpt to figure the Count would probably have ended up just as tall if not a smidge taller than Ernie. Good, cause that'd put him in equal height range with both Ernie and Uncle D.
Alls I need now is to askKermieBaby47 if he'd send me those single pics. :batty: :insatiable: *Happy sigh.

I wouldn't judge the size of the figures on the picture I originally provided. Someone Photoshopped that together and it's not the best. In that pic, they smushed Ernie down for some reason and Slimey is huge. Don't get your info from that pic, Count.

*Laughs good-naturedly. Thanks for the tip Tim, though i did say i was judging more by Anthony's pics. *Schemes proceeding nicely. :smirk:

D'oh! Sorry, forgot. I found a pic of Palisades prototypes Guy Smiley, The Count, Ernie, Bert, Little Bird, Elmo and Oscar all next to each other in clay/plastic form. Obviously from a very early stage of their development. There are smaller pics of Cookie and a head shot of Big Bird in the top corner but I was happy to find this pic because it shows how tall everyone is compared to each other. What I would give to have just one or two of those figures. Mmmmhmmm.

Ah, okay then. From this earlier group shot, how much taller would you say Count is to Ernie? Would the suggestion of a quarter a head based on KB47's pics hold about true? His are the ones I'm using as default/standard, cause they're the most further along we've seen/gotten.
Thanks for the help.

Whoah, cool! I got 'em pretty close. Though it does seem I overestimated Little Bird's size, the rest look about right. Neat.
I'm working on converting a bunch of pictures right now, but when my Boy wakes up, I'm gone! :)

Yeah, Count. That sounds about right. What secret project are you working on?
The Count

If I told you... Well, I don zink you want to know what happens to zem zen.
The photo project is erm, well, in limbo currently.
The other thing are my haunters or counting characters, some of which are monstrified versions of Muppets, like the Banshee based on Janice and so on. Whenever I get someone to draw them up going by my itemized descripts of each, turning those into static-posed PVC figurines would be greatly helped by having the photo and an idea of the size/height of the Count prototype sculpt. They'll be a bit cheated at slightly taller than the Mini Muppets, but still preserve the same scale comparison range.
Hope this helps.

I am thinking now that the Count would be more like half of Ernie's head taller.
