When I was little I was obsessed with getting a real live version of some of the toys on the show, most of all Rubber Ducky and Telly's doll Freddy..I just wonder, were they ever made as real toys?

I know, I know, you could say Rubber Ducky was just a rubber duck toy, but still, he is made/was made in a shape I have never been able to find anywhere else but in SS with his legs how they are and everything:coy:...

I thought I might as well ask about them here :o

I can't speak about Freddy, but I've been on a quest for a real Rubber Duckie for a long time, aswell. I've come close, here's what I've found:

Around 1993 I found an 'Official Ernie's Rubber Duckie' from Tyco. I vaguely remember the box with Ernie holding his Rubber Duckie. I was pretty disappointed when I opened it and it looked nothing like the real one on the box. The only reason I kept it was because it looked like the one on the top of the giant water slide at Sesame Place.

Then, circa 1997, my family and I wnet to Sesame Place and we found another 'Official Ernie's Rubber Duckie,' this time you could actually see what you were buying. It was much closer to the original, kinda like a characicture (spelling?) of the original. It was also made by Tyco.

Unfortunately, neither of these Rubber Duckies squeak, or are even soft enough to squeeze. I'll try to find some pictures and post them soon. I'm still waiting on the day I find a 'Real Ernie's Rubber Duckie,' official or not :p ! A Radar doll would be cool, too :wisdom: !

Many years ago, a friend of mine showed me a rubber duckie that looked exactly like the one you see on classic Sesame Street! I have no idea how he got it. It was white with orange spots, not yellow as the later duckies were. It did not squeak. There was a small hole at the bottom of it, but I don't think it had a "squeaker" in there. I also would love to find one of these. I've kept my eye out for it without any luck. Please let us know if you ever find one!

I do have the "Ernie's Rubber Duckie" that was put out several years ago. It does not squeak either, but it does float.

The original rubber ducky that Ernie had was an alan jay rubber toy that you could of bought back in the sixties.

Ha Ha! When I say "you", I meant generally speaking, not refering to you specifically.

Cool, thanks for the tip! It's a bit before my time too, but there's always the chance that it could appear at a garage or estate sale or something like that.
