Don't know if this applies to anyone here but thought I would pass it along. Apparently there have been complaints about disc scratches due to poor packaging of the complete series. Here's the link.....

It's nice to see Lionsgate is taking care of this unfortunate issue.
Can anyone who goes through with this please post the details of their correspondence with Lionsgate? I'm interested to know exactly what steps they take and how they handle it.

What about all the unsold ones? Are they going to recall them and put out new ones? :\

I was thinking about that earlier to. I guess they could do that, or wait until people buy them, and then reissue the damaged discs when they get more comlplaints

That's what they'll probably do, unfortunately. It's easier (and cheaper) for them to do a replacement program and leave it up to the consumer to mail the damaged discs back.
I also find it humorous that Lionsgate states the replacement discs are free.

How nice of them to not make us pay all over again-.-

Yeah, because they know how much we all despise repaying for things. ;)

so basically, they're telling all those who were waiting to see how the issue got resolved that they can go ahead an buy sub quality, scratched items, and then jump through hoops and wait even longer to get replacements before they can actually watch the show....
i mean, nice that they are doing something about it, but it still seems to be less then they could and should be doing, esp with so many of us still upset about not being able to get season 4 as a stand alone to go with all the other seasons we bought individually...

Usually they will pull the disk sets and reissue them in the right sports if something really wrong happens. I hope they do, since I'm clearly going to wait a while before getting this.

Anyone want to repeatedly claim season 4 is busted? ;)
Seriously though, that was a surprisingly good gesture for them. Still, given their behavior with the TMNT animated DVD's they put out, I doubt the customer service is going to be very good in the process.

Their attitude for TMNT may not be perfect, but compaired with their attitude towards the Dragon Ball cartoons they got almost a decade ago has been miserable. Funimation has been trying non-stop to get in touch with them so they could buy back the first 13 episodes to release in a similar fashion to DBZ and GT... and Lion's Gate still won't return their calls.
Either way, we're all pretty lucky they haven't been like that towards everything. Though I'm still disappointed they didn't release any fututre volumes of ALF and ALFtales.

True, frankly I'm still hoping someone'll trick them into responding to Funimation, simply because early dragonball is funny as heck.
Yea, alf got a raw deal. And I love the "We don't have the broadcast masters, just syndication, sorry for the cuts" comment when several episodes on each release are the broadcast version.

call and pester them now... their contract for distirbution is up early this year, after that.. who knows if we'll get anything from them.. including season 4..
this really ticks me off.. i simply can not afford to buy the complete series after having invested in the season sets..

I just had a bad thought..maybe they've stopped doing replacements already because they aren't going to be doing anything with FR pretty soon? O.O

Possibly. It's pretty certain they (and HIT) have released their last DVDs for Henson. The contract should end in April.
Vaati64, I would call both HIT and Lionsgate right away.

That makes me sad...
"We want DVDs!"
"Of course we'll...opps, look at the time! Oh well, not our problem!:p..."

this really makes me mad though... now it really feels like they made the decision to release the complete series with the full on intention of screwing everyone they'd gotten to invest in the individual seasons...

DVDs may still be released, but most likely through another distributor.

Still that means everything that has to do with this one might die right away, which is not a good thing:sympathy:

If that could happen, then I would contact Lionsgate ASAP.

If you're talking about Season 4, I doubt it. The episodes, with new bonus features, are already on DVD. They just need another distributor to get it in stores.

Yeah but people who wanted replacement DVDs from Lionsgate might get lost in the shuffle.

I hope they do, and not (as I said in another thread) Inspector Gadget the set, and give it to someone else who'll just sit on the rights and do nothing.
