I remember the following (that is, all but the first one posted, with The Classics as its opening):

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/2278/

(This was on TV films from the 70's and in direct-to-video specials from the 80's, with the most notable for me being that "Too Smart for Strangers" PSA using the costumed characters from Welcome to Pooh Corner (http://soundamerica.com/soundamerica/sounds/themes/cartoons/t-z/wpoohc.wav))

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/4200/ (This was on videos from the early 90's, like the various Sing-Along-Songs video releases)

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/2645/

(This was on Mini-Classic short stories like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow [taken from Icabod & Mr. Toad] (http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/5da9e12d-4460-4ed3-b297-361a6096ffbc/?action=forceDL.wav), and various other reprints done within the 80's)

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/4737/

(This was also an 80's intro for reprints, which--most notably for me--were things like the Storybook Classic four-peice set of the Pooh shorts [Honey Tree, Blustery Day, Tigger Too, & Day For Eeyore] (http://www.ilovewavs.com/TV/Cartoons/Winnie%20the%20Pooh%20-%20THEME.wav))

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/4207/

(This Masterpeice Collection was done on 1994-1999 films like Hercules[/I] (]The Jungle Book (http://soundamerica.com/soundamerica/sounds/themes/Movie-TV-Radio_Related/jungleb2.wav))

And of course, the last logo posted was the infamous "whistling" one used for practically every 80's-90's animated feature film (including The Little Mermaid (http://soundamerica.com/soundamerica/sounds/themes/Movie-TV-Radio_Related/littlm1.wav) & Beauty & the Beast (http://soundamerica.com/soundamerica/sounds/themes/Movie-TV-Radio_Related/beaubst4.wav)) until the recent logo (starting with the second Pirates of the Carribbean (http://www.slhacker.com/downloads/pirate.wav) film) began to be used. ^_^

How did you know that?

Ilikemuppets
05-18-2008, 02:53 AM
What?I mean that you could be standing right next to the person and really be right there with them and they still would not get the joke that you were trying to tell them.

How did you know that?

1. I am a big old-school Disney fan.
2. Being born in '84, I got the best of both the 80's & 90's as I was growing up.

Ah yes, the Walt Disney Home Video and Walt Disney Classics logos. One of my interests. :D

I have the old Walt Disney Classics logo with the spinning words and zooming diamonds on my "Dumbo" and "Lady and the Tramp" VHS copies. The Sorcerer Mickey WDHV logo also shows up on my "Cowboy Pooh," "Peter and the Wolf," "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves," "The Jungle Book" and "The Rescuers Down Under" tapes. The Classics version of the Sorcerer Mickey logo is on my "Pinocchio," "Fantasia," "Bambi," "Cinderella," "101 Dalmatians," "The Jungle Book," "Robin Hood," "The Rescuers," "The Fox and the Hound," "The Great Mouse Detective," "The Little Mermaid," "The Rescuers Down Under," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin" videos. I also have the Masterpiece Collection logo on my "Oliver & Company" tape, but on that one it has an announcer saying "And now our feature presentation" during part of the logo.

BTW, Disney started the Masterpiece Collection on October 28 1994, the same day that "Muppet Classic Theater" came out! But this series went on until 1999. The Black Diamond Classic series lasted longer, from 1984 to 1994. And that Sorcerer Mickey WDHV logo was used from 1986 to 2000, and was the longest-running logo Walt Disney Home Video used.

So you thought of them on the top of your head.Pretty much. Of course, I had to look intently at the logos presented. ^_^

I do really like their current one.I like it too, but it doesn't work well on an animated film, IMHO.

Aren't that and this--http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/2278/--practically the same thing?

As said, that was a 1978 logo, used on things like that "Too Smart for Strangers" PSA in the 80's.
