Do you know that the puppet you are building right now could take up to 200-450 years to biodegrade depending on what materials you used? Crazy.
Happy Earth Day! Save those scraps and Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink.
If you have any ideas to conserve the materials we use, or to recycle household material and incorporate them in our puppets...post them here!
EXAMPLES:
Use the plastic from 1 gal. ice cream tubs for mouthplates
Use bleach bottle plastic for puppet eyes
THINK GREEN:)

I've actually been doing a bit of research about soy foam. Looks like it will still have eurethane in it, but not so much. My mouse died, otherwise I'd link you to the article I found.

It's not easy Thinking Green
Having to spend each day reducing the waste
When I think it could be nicer taking care of it in the first place
instead of only when its out of control
It's not easy Thinking Green
It seems your the only one who is doing it And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
much more different than they are
Or called a hippie
But green's the color of the earth
And green can save your health and money
And green can be big like car, or important
Like a life , or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful
And I think it's what I want to be

Oooh. I'm so sorry about your mouse! I have four - Crinkle, Squinty, Spunky and Speedy (the boy). I know just how affectionate they can be. Sorry again for your loss.
 On another note. What is the ethical longevity for a puppet?

Ooops. He he. Those fuzzy little guys consume so much of my life these days (and the odd fishy cracker now and then) that I have mice on the brain. Mice share the earth so that's kind of on topic. They get such a bad rep when they are much more likely to catch something from us and die. Rats...another issue. :shifty:

Here's what I wore today. (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/toughie47/015.jpg?t=1208911098) Wife found it online, image from a shopping bag, but I always wanted it on a shirt! :D Next year I'll think ahead and draw an original Muppety something.
Cheers, and Happy Earth Day!

I always thought it would be cool- and incredibly difficult- to make a puppet with living grass and small trees growing on it. But that would take a lotta patience, dirt, and showers. Who knows, it may happen! Hybrid puppets are the puppets of the future!:D
Agreed, that T shirt is made of win. Wonderful! put a smile on my face to see that :)
