Hey,

So I have never tried to write fan mail in my life but I am a huge dork and I want to tell a bunch of the Muppet people how much their work has meant to me, even if they never look at it, I just kinda want to get it out there.

I need the skinny on how this scene works. Do they ever actually see/answer mail? Do you get a form letter back?

Moi needs facts.

"Is there any way to stop it!"

Oh, sorry I'm a failure. This question is in the FAQ. OK, then how about we share tales of fanmail to the Muppetpeeps?

I would definately write to them if I were you! They ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS write back to me! I just send them a nice letter and ask for a photo of a muppet. My whole room is filled with glossy photo's of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Pepe, Fraggles, etc. So I would definately wirite!

OK, then I shall. I just figured they may be swamped and things would get lost in the shuffle.....

Who has everyone heard from?

I am writing because I so like the muppets. I was wondering if you could send me an autographed picture of Beauregard!!!

Thanks,

Thanks Sir Didi (whatever) I'll have a go.

Beau,
Sometimes they don't have a picture of a certain character. One time I asked them for a pic of Johnny Fiamma, and they said they don't have any, so beware of that!

I've written a few fan letters (to the Muppeteers, and just asking for pictures of Muppets). Last year I wrote asking for a picture of Scooter and I got one (and it's a pretty nifty picture too!)...

I'm not sure if they have any. I just know that I got pictures of the characters autographed (by both the performer and the character. However, I have my doubts about the characters. I mean Gonzo can't even pick up a phone on his own, so how can he pick up a pen and write so well? Hmmmmm)... :)

A lot of times we get so into being a fan when we talk about a character we think of the performer. But the fact remains, unlike Disney or Looney Tunes or whatever you can *actually* meet the Muppets. I know Kevin Clash has brought Elmo with him to several meet and greet things. I myself got to meet the real Sweetums. When I say 'real' there is the real Sweetums(John Henson) and then there is a cheap Sweetums suit with some teen in it at MV3D.

But back to the question...I have seen autographs where it is just the Muppet's autograph(this effect is usually done with a performer's left hand, as in the Johnny and Sal autographs) I have a Pepe autograph signed by Bill Baretta and Pepe.

Warrick
12-04-2002, 06:56 AM
Its not usually done in left hand.

Its just Sal is a Monkey, And to figure out what a Monkey would write like Brian used his left hand.

How would you get such nice signatures like Piggies, Fozzies, Gonzos, Kermits and Animals with a left hand ?

See ya

A few things..

Do they REALLY give you a picture... now? I want to know if they have Janice, Scooter, or Dr. Teeth.

Secondly.. do they charge you?

Thirdly, are the Muppeteers trained to sign autographs like the character (i.e Animal's would be splatterry, or Piggy's would be flowerey?) I'm working on signing autographs like some of my characters (Mighty for example, signs very fun). Or do they sign it of whatever performer plays that character.

Personally, I'd LOVE to meet a Muppet in person. I'd probably be shy, like I was when I saw Joespeh Barbara, Rob Paulsen, and Maurice LaMarche in person (the latter two I have actually met. The former was such a giant in the cartoon industry.. I was so scared. I'd think he'd've sicked Hong Kong Phooey or Captain Caveman on me..)

Yeah, you do get a picture. It depends on who they have. Last year I wrote asking for a picture of Scooter, and I got one (now it's proudly hanging on my wall).

I don't *think* so. Like I said, I wrote a letter, and they sent me a picture.

I have no idea. I just asked for a picture and they sent it (no autograph). However, I did write to Dave Goelz ( ;) ), and I got back a picture of Gonzo signed by Dave and Gozno (Gonzo is signed as "The Great Gonzo" and ther are lots of stars and spirals. It's cool!). So I don't really have a clue.

You've actually met Rob Paulsen and Moe LaMarche? How awesome! I've never had the chance to meet them (I've just written goofy little fan letters to them), but wow. That would be awesome!

Yes, I have a Black and White autographed Picture of Brian Henson. I write to them constantly, and have quite a collection of photo's! My favorite is Miss Piggy! It says: Kissy Kissy to Jake Love, Miss Piggy. Go ahead and write away everyone! I just got one of The electric Mayhem a few weeks ago. I don't want you guys to think I'm bragging, so write to them yourselves! Or you can e-mail them at: Fanmail@henson.com.

Well, I technically met them. Back when there WAS a Warner Brothers Store, they were at the Predential Centerr in Boston. There was a big advertisement in the paper that said "Meet Pinky and the Brain." I did not know they were actually there! I heard Pinky and Brain's voices, but I thought it was a clip on the Television! But Rob and Mo were there. They basically were signing autographs and doing voices. I stood in line for lord only knows, I got their auto grpahs on a little post card. I was going to ask them questions and I froze! However, one guy had the Variety Pak CD to sign, and Rob started to break out into Song, Variety Speak, to be exact. Rob even did Yakko's voice for my sister. And I had AL these questions to ask too.

Mom lost the (*&^* postcard!!!

My Cousin used to have an autograph of Rob, his grandma gave it to him. It was signed on a Ninja Turtles picture.

BTW, if you E-mail them, will they give you a picture?

A few years back I wrote (by "snail mail") to both Rob and Moe from the addresses I found at Voice Chasers (http://www.voicechasers.org/index1.html).

A few years back I met Nancy Cartwright (she's from Dayton, and she came back to Dayton to do a book signing for her book). I must have waited HOURS (but I enjoyed it all), and I finally got a chance to meet her. All night she had done her voices from the Simpsons, but when I got my chance to meet her I asked her to do Mindy from Animaniacs. She did, and I was the happiest little geek...

I wrote Henson in regards to Mokey and Janice, and I got a nice glossy of the fraggle five, but they said they didn't have any pictures of Janice---c'mon, ya gotta at least have one EM pic somewhere!

It was an amazing experience! I must have waited like 3 or 4 hours, but it was worth it.

She actually came to town over the summer, but I had to work, so I couldn't go.

I think in the MC website there are addresses to write to the performers for fan mail. There's also a fanmail@henson.com email address to write to, as well. I don't know if emails get answered or not.

When you write off for pictures, it's good to enclose a postage paid 9x11"envelope, too.

And they appreciate legible hand written letters. Much more personal than typed computer generated stuff.

Where can we find the addresses? and EmmyMik, you said you wrote to David Goelz specifically? Are there different addresses for different people? I've actually written to Dave Goelz a couple of times. Each time I used the Fan Mail address (found somewhere 'round these parts). I addressed it as:

blah, blah, blah

(the "blah"s were the address that I can't remember)...

A few weeks ago I wrote to the JHC fan mail address asking for pictures (I can't remember of which characters though). This weekend (I have no idea which day I got mail. My family is horrible at giving me my mail when I have to work) I got pictures of the Fraggles (it's a nifty black and white picture) and Bunsen and Beaker. And now I need to find some wall space for these pictures...

I got Frank Oz's autograph a while ago. Also Robin Williams. And a hand-written letter from Carroll Spinney. For some reason, the autographs (although, this DOES NOT APPLY to Carroll Spinney. He hand-wrote it!) unless you meet the puppeteer in person (or actor) it doesn't seem as special. Oh, well.

When you write for autographs, address it (whether by snail mail or e-mail) to the Puppeteer. If you're desperate, write the Muppet.

I also recieved photos (not autographed) of Johnny and Sal, one of Bobo, one of Benjamina Gunn, and a group photo from Muppets Tonight. That was pretty cool.

Well, that's what I heard he said at Muppetfest. It was so he knew where he was supposed to be. :D Not necessarily in the forum, but on the website.

How do you look at a specific members profile if they haven't been on in a while? I know I can look at all of yours, because you're usually on, but how would I look at his/hers again? I saw it once while he/she was on.

And, it might not even be a regular performer. Maybe a one-timer or background performer. But that's still pretty cool. I'm sure if I ever did background performing on with the Muppets, I'd call myself an old Muppeteer too!:D

Hey, Tweedle Bug, who are you? You're not Karen Prell!

LOL ! No wonder the company doesn't have any money nowdays !

Seriously, i've bothered to read this thread back and it kinda worries me how impersonal you're all making this sound. The Henson Company isn't some free picture service - they are doing it out of appreciation for their fans. Obviously you can do what you like, but i'm sure the guys would appreciate your mail more if you addressed it to the individual perfomers and said something relavant to them. Snail Mail and handwritten letters are always going to be more welcomed than generic emails and will i'm sure get better results. It's a privledge to be able to contact the performers, not a right so it's always good to write to the muppeteers for your favorite characters first.

Oh and Frank Oz autograph collectors beware - 9 times out of 10 through the mail, the autographs he sends are pre-prints and not personally signed. He's busy a lot - usually if you have a signed picture of him in a leather bomber jacket it's not real, but there have been exceptions.

Nope, what i'm saying is it's FAN MAIL - not a free picture service. You're supposed to be writing to these people because you're a fan and appreciate their work. It's always good to say something specific to the character or performer, and writing a nice letter will always get treated better than a quick email which are considered impersonal. The performers are more likely to read letters sent in and keep them filed so adding a personal touch will probably get you better results. I work in TV myself and know performers will always go the extra mile if it's obvious someone has put a lot of thought into writing - which probably explains why Scooter for example got a hand written letter from Carol Spinney !

Your right Luke. Sorry If I sounded rude, I didn't quite get what you were saying, but I understand now. Fan Mail is a better Idea, But I never really sent a letter to a Muppeteer personally. I always ask for something. I feel really bad know. I think I'll go hide in my cave.

Indeed, it would be cool. If there was ever a *new*(ahem) JHC fan site that would definately be a possibility;) It was really neat being able to chat with Jerry, and other performers who were working on(or actually just wrapped up work) MFS in the fall of 1998 on MC's chat. Also, Gonzo in 2000 I think(or 2001?) had this live webcast chat with fans...itd be neat if they did more things like that.

Any idea?

I understand the fascination with trying to figure out who on MC or elsewhere is connected with JHC in some fashion. While sadly for various reasons non freelance Muppeteers and JHC personal cant post on here(one thing, theyd get bombarded with "OMG I CANT BELIEVE ITS YOU OMG!!!" unrestrained fans either posting in a thread or baraging em with emails...very un tact. )
However, even with MC forum's less than stellar online activity status, you folks would be surprised who has popped in to say hi or lurk;)

Luke is absolutely right. I really hope it doesnt get to a point where people are just arbitralily emailing JHC for autographs. Show youre appreciation by writing a short yet heartfelt SNAIL MAIL(you know, those fandangled things you put into a mail box...maybe even use a Big Bird stamp, LOL) Sending an email just shows apathy. I mean what did people do before the convienence of the internet? If JHC gets baraged by people just hording em for auto's, they might discontinue that luxury.

So what did we learn here folks? If youre going to request an autograph, make sure its in a snail letter hand written SASE letter, make sure its for your fave performer(dont go asking for everyones auto)...and for the love of muffins please dont try to pull back the theatre curtain on 'mysterious' posters. You just might scare em away, and then MC would really be in the dark.

Besides, they're cooler when they're all mysterious and cryptic.

I mean they can say things like, "Some of the merchandise won't be flammable" and that would be cool and awe-inspiring. While if I were to say it or make it up (which I did), it just sounds stupid.

You mayh have made it up, but dosn't it sound so true?

Some of the Merchandise, cut that dow a bit the Merchandise which bit of it could they have been talking about? Some, they could mean anything, though not the polystine I shouldn't think. May be flamable. It could posably catch on fire.

Just think if they had sia, (Or Emmy had said) The Ploystone busts may catch on fire. It wouldn't be the same a t all would it?

OK so I got an autographed picture from Frank Oz and was very very happy and danced around the house with glee.

HOWEVER, I had also emailed requests in for Dave Golez and Steve Whitmire the same day and did not get anything.

Is there a one per person limit or is Frank Oz's camp just faster? I used different email addresses on each one! :-(

Luke
01-20-2003, 12:44 PM
You emailed Henson for a Frank Oz autograph and recieved it quickly ? Are you sure it's real and not a pre-print ? Maybe he signs a lot of them at the same time and Henson just keep them on file, but from what i was aware most of the time his through the mail stuff is fake or pre-printed. He hardly does anything with JHC at all nowdays.

Oh I know. I worked at Sesame once upon a time ago. They have a stack of pre-autographed pictures and then an intern writes the character's name and signs your name if you ask for it. This is fine by me, I just wanted something that Frank Oz had thouched and it is a real autograph. I just want to know why the other two never came and if i should be patient (so hard!) or write again.

You're in New Jersey? Frank Oz lives in New York state. (same as me!!! Just can't seem to find the name of his town on any map.)

That might be why you got his so fast. I get mine in a few months, and it was personalized. You can tell he personalized it personally because it's the same hand-writing. Just wish he hadn't sent me that form letter.

The other two might have gotten lost in the mail. I never heard back from Dave Goelz either.

You used to work at Seame Street? Cool.

Well if it's been more than a year or so, I'd say probably. But these things do take time, and you need some patience (on both times I wrote to Dave it took 3 to 3 1/2 months from the time I sent the letter off to the time I got a response)...

But for some reason there wasent any signatures with it. So i guess that i must be more specific the next time.

The did however answer a suggestion that I made about a seasoned box set with the original 1st season opening.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR "BOXED SET" SUGGESTION. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY EVALUATING.

I think that it sounds so great that they are thinking about realeesing a box set. :excited:

HIYA MICHAEL!!

Sometimes it can take several months to get anything back, and other times it's a few weeks. Just depends on how available that person is at the time the letter arrives at the company. If it's mid-season and nobody's filming, they may have to wait for the performers to come back, or they wait til they get enough letters on hand to ship them all to the performer's home.

Kevin Clash sent me a cool autographed photo of himself and Elmo "To Kevin from Kevin Clash and Elmo." I ended up getting an autographed photo of Big Bird signed to me with "Spinney" written REALLY small on the edge of the photo.

I wrote Carroll Spinney, and he responded. He sent me a nice hand written letter, and an autographed (it was Big Bird's and Oscar's autograph. But he signed the letter) post card from the 25th anniversary of Sesame Street. It's pretty neat!

Speaking of which, any of you POA members out there, did you notice that in the directory there's three times that Carroll Spinney's name is mentioned? And each and every time his name is mentioned, Carroll is spelt differently? I'm pretty sure they're all him, there's only so many Carroll Spinney's around, and the majority of them are female. And, once, his name was even mentioned alongside his characters from Sesame Street, so I know they're all him. :grouchy:

What is SO cool is that every one of the Muppet performers are so meek and humble that they will thank you for being a big fan of theirs for whatever purpose, but they will tell you, as has been told to me, "It's a joint effort, without the team there is no me."

I have different reasons for loving them all and being a fan of the performers as much as the characters.

At MuppetFest they all seemed genuinely surprised that we all were that excited to meet them all.

What is the usual turn around in response to a fan letter/autograph request from either Steve Whitmire or Kevin Clash ?

Reason I ask is that I wrote both two months earlier than I wrote Dave Goelz and have yet to receive a response ? Should I wait another month or so and re-write em again ?

I'm just curious if anyone had any success with these two and what the ususal turnaround time is.

Got two more successes yesterday...........

Wrote Sesame Workshop on behalf of my nephew for autographed photos of Elmo and Grover and got back 2 color signed photos...One of Elmo and one of Grover along with a very cute letter from each :)

Stange thing was...Grovers photo was way larger and less glossy than Elmos.Elmo's was an 8x10 on Kodak glossy paper..Grover's photo musta been about 12x14 (I may be stretching it alittle, but it wasnt an 8x10 and was way bigger  )

The turnaround time was little under a week. This is probably due to the fact they are located in NYC as well as I am. I also sent a letter to them in regards to merchandise and got a response back in regards where I can find specific items.

Thanks Again Grover, Elmo and Sesame Workshop you made my nephews day.

I have requests out to Kermit The Frog,Miss Piggy, Scooter, Beaker, Jerry Nelson, Sonia Manzano and Brian Henson. When I hear back for someone, I'll be sure to update.

P.S. --- Before anyone says anything..I know the photos are signed by the interns from reading various posts here and on other sites, but to a 2 1/2 yr old, its the real deal :)

I just want to know why the other two never came and if i should be patient (so hard!) or write again.

FYI.....

Did you know that a few years ago people were using an address for Frank OZ and were getting phone calls from Henson and Oz's secretary about the address. The problem with the address that they were using was that Frank stopped using it 3 years earlier.

Just figured I'd pass this bit of info on

Last week I received my autographed copy of Caroll's new book!

Why am I so happy? His book tour came nowhere near Cincinnati, and I was bummed. However Jeni (the web master of Caroll's official fan page) told me that I could buy a copy to help support the Children's Discovery Musuem in San Jose, CA.

So, I donated my first copy of the book to the Cincinnati Public Library, helped support a children's museum, and now have a personal autograph from my Muppeteer hero that reads:

Terry! I Love Trash! Oscar and Caroll Spinney

It's a three way win if you ask me!:grouchy:

The mailman brought me back my SASE and inside was a photo of Floyd autographed from him and Jerry Nelson. Also enclosed were the index cards I sent which were signed by Crazy Harry,Robin,The Count,Floyd and Pops. Each is its own signature with its own style.

Thank you Mr. Nelson for the autographs. You are the grooviest dude :sing:

Here is some information that some may find useful if they sent requests out and have not heard anything yet.

From my successes, I can tell you how long each took from the time I wrote them and mailed my requests to the time I received them back. This is the time frame it took for my autogrpahs to arrive and may not be the time frame for when someone else receives theirs, but I figured I just give folks an idea on the time frame.

All requests were sent from New York City to either the Sesame Workshop address or The Henson PO Box in NYC.

My Successes:

Jerry Nelson - 15 days.
Frank Oz - 7 days
Dave Goelz - approx. 7 months
Kermit the Frog - 4 days
Elmo & Grover - 7 days
Big Bird & Elmo - 3 days

I have requests out to:

Steve Whitmire (via email to Henson as well as postal mail)
Caroll Spinney (used address from Caroll Spinney Fan page)
David Rudman (Sesame Workshop address)
Kevin Clash (Kaufman Astoria Studios & Sesame Workshop)
Sonia Manzano (Sesame Workshop)
Brian Henson (Henson Corporate Offices)
Miss Piggy (Henson Hollywood Address)
Beaker (Henson Hollywood Address)
Sweedish Chef (Henson Hollywood Address)

If anyone has had success with any of the above or have a better/working address, please let me know. Also thanks to all who have posted their success stories here as it good to hear them and helps those who are new to this thread.

It's been a few weeks, but I sent a photo of myself with Charlie Rivkin to him to get signed, and it was returned with a very friendly letter from his Personal Asst. I had sent him a copy of the photo for himself to keep.

But, like an idiot, I didn't put ANY of my own contact info on the back of the photo. So, keep in mind, boys and girls, to always put your contact info on the stuff you send them hoping theyll keep.

This is gonna be my 50th post here, so it's a little longer than usual

Its been slow in regards to successes for awhile, but today the United States Postal Service delivered to me a Muppet Success as well another Sesame Street success.

Today I received back two requests. One from Miss Piggy and the other from Sonia Manzano (Maria from Sesame Street).

I got a cool looking color group photo shot of the Muppets which now includes  and :attitude: .It was signed in blue ink and reads: Kissy Kissy to Michael....

I received a color ISP , 2 personalized index cards and a personalized letter from Sonia Manzano. She even apologized to me in the letter she sent for taking so long to get back to me.

I included a SASE for each request sent out. Both requests came back in the different enveloped. The Henson Company for Miss Piggy and Sesame Workshop from Sonia.Sonia returned back to me my original SASE as she used the Sesame Workshop one and included extra postage.Turnaround time was around 2 months.

Address used for  was the Henson Hollywood address.

Address used for Sonia was the Sesame Workshop address.

Thanks Miss Piggy , Henson Company, Sonia/Maria and Sesame Workshop

I still have request out to the following:

Steve Whitmire (via email to Henson as well as postal mail)
Caroll Spinney (used address from Caroll Spinney Fan page)
David Rudman (Sesame Workshop address)
Kevin Clash (Kaufman Astoria Studios & Sesame Workshop)

I did a portrair of Caroll, Big Bird, and Oscar a few years ago, and not only did he send me an autographed photo signed by himself and Big Bird, he drew an 8x10 picture for me of himself, Big Bird and Oscar!!! He even drew watercolor cartoons on the envelope for me!!!!!!! And, to top it all off, I asked for one of Big Bird's feathers...AND HE SENT ME TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys, I was skimming through this thread (page, after page, after page... :p ) and I've got a question. So if I send an e-mail to the Henson company and I ask for a photo of a character or something, they send it in the mail? Also, what's the e-mail address? (Oh yeah, I'll also say good things about them and how much I appreciate them, etc. ;) :) )

Fozzie Bear
08-12-2003, 01:33 PM
I usually write to fanmail@henson.com whenever I have a quick question about the company or characters that I can't get a definite answer from any other source, ie: Sal Manilla. There was a question about the spelling of "Manilla," so I wrote. I also wrote them for an official statement regarding the Kermit/Piggy love saga, and for more information about Mahna-Mahna.

If you want your letters and request to be taken more seriously, though, especially to performers and asking for autographed photos, it's best to send along a hand written letter and self-addressed stamped envelopes. It gives it that personal touch, especially since you're 'looking for' the 'personal touch' in the autographs!! This is what I would suggest over e-mailing them requesting such items.

You could compromise and mail a typed letter:)

Why worry about it? Just write or don't write--sitting back and asking questions won't get you anything. If you have a request, drop a SASE in an envelope with a letter and mail it to them.

I had asked this about a month ago but it was kind of a tacked-on question to an unrelated post, so since there's an active "fan mail" discussion thread going, i'll try again here...

...This is a question for any Henson insiders or anyone who has regular contact with the LA offices...

I had sent Henson Co a congratulatory gift package to congratulate them on getting the company back in their ownership and to thank them for all the work they've done over the years - there were several creative little gifts from chocolates to lilypad candles and a card directed to the "Henson family/company/team". I didn't include any kind of SASE or contact info inside (though of course the box had my return address) since i wasn't wanting/expecting anything in return - just wanted to send along some appreciation from a fan perspective to this wonderful group of people at an exciting time (i tried to time it to where it would arrive on August 1st though i suspect it probably ended up getting there the Monday after that weekend).

I'm just wondering if it was eventually received by anyone since i never got any kind of response - like i say, i wasn't expecting/anticipating any but still a lot of thought/care/love went into it and it would be reassuring to hear from anyone who might know that it was received by someone - whether it be members of the Henson family or any of the executives or even passed around to puppeteers, puppet builders, prop designers, marketing people - ANYONE that would be considered a part of the "team" that makes Muppety/Henson Co entertainment possible...as opposed to some receptionist or intern who just kept all the goodies for him/herself.

DW,

I was told they did get quite a few letters and congratulatory packages such as yours, so that is a good sign. They were shared with "higher ups" in the company. I'm sure they likely received your package and got a big kick out of it as well.

I'm planning to write to Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson, but so far I've made drawings for them. Frank's is nifty, since it has one-shot characters he performed during the classic years of SS. The characters are:

The fireman from "People in your Neighborhood"
The green man from "J Friends"
The little girl from the premeire episode
King Peter's Royal Cook (from "The King Banishes the Letter P")
The Cat (with the Fiddle)
Same Sound Brown (Northern Calloway voiced him, but I think he was puppeteered by Frank, since he moves kinda like Prince Charming and various others)
One of the Zizzy Zoomers
The Tortoise
One of the cowboys from "My Favorite Letter"
Princess Penelope (from "The King Banishes the Letter P")
Humpty Dumpty (from NewsFlash!)

Jerry's drawing is basically the same. Here's who's in it:

The Genie
Fat Blue
The orange man from "J Friends"
The green guy from "Fat Cat Sat Hat" (I thought it would be funny to have him holding a sign saying "Beware of Green Pointy-Headed Men!")
The Beautiful Princess (NewsFlash!)
Farley
One of the Zizzy Zoomers
The Hare
Frazzle

By the way, do you know where I can write to Frank? Thank you for your help!

I just wrote a massive note (not that massive, it still fit on the notecard) to Jerry. I wrote it the day after the Lost Works of Jim Henson thing which was on my brithday and right near where I work, but sold out when I tried to get the tickets days before. I think it ended up being kinda guilt trippy.... O dear....

I also wrote to Carol and Eric....

So far only Dave and Frank have replied...

I cannot write to Kevin. Since i see him all the time at work, that is just too weird and I cannot ask him for it at work because that is waaaaaay unprofessional. I will just mail it someday and hope he doesn't actually know my name.... ;-)

Well, if you smiled at me when I was on my way into teh bathroom, desperate like, I am sure I'd give you a nasty look.

BTW, you work at SS right?

Why would i smile at you desperate like to go to the bathroom? I don't wait until the situation is like life or death to relieve myself..... ;)

Yeah I do.

By the way, where can I write to Karen Prell? I've heard that she's a sweet person and I need to write to her. The address must be at Pixar, I guess.

Thanks for your help!

BlueAM

Well, I'm sure you could probably use the "Performer c/o The Jim Henson Company" method to send her written correspondence...that doesn't seem like it would be a bad idea. Of course, if you want to e-mail her, her direct e-mail address is on her website (www.karenprell.com) (prellfraggle@yahoo.com), although I have written her numerous times, and I'm having trouble getting responses back (although It'll be worth it when I do get a response, I bet - judging by a few of the responses that others have gotten, she's very thorough). This thread is surprising, in that, with all of the performer signatures requested (and photos, etc.), Karen has not been mentioned to any major extent - which I am surprised about. I hope I could be of some assistance.

Here's hoping the wait isn't a 7-month one!

Are you a performer? What do you do at SS, apart from smile at people when they are in life and death situations?

Life and death situ...Beau! What kind of food are you EATING?? I've never had to go to the potty that bad!

Well, once. I live near the train tracks and already had to go, but was on the other side of the tracks from my apartment when the train was going through...and it STOPPED!

I love posting in threads when nobody knows what the other means sometimes.

(Don't forget, my s/n is Fozzie Bear, and I like to play off what could be misconstrued meanings--like Abbot and Costello, if you will. Still, when you gotta go--or CAN'T you go?! Bless your heart...)

Back to reality; what d'you do there at SS?

Yeah, no doubt. And we can't afford to pay you off for that information anyhow, so don't be pressured.

As a matter of fact, if you feel pressured, go to the restroom.

I seem to have a problem due to the selling of the NY Henson townhouse. What worries me is what the new fan mail address will be so I can write to Frank (if I can) and Jerry. Do any of you guys know the new fan mail address of Henson? Thank you for your help!

Just send it to the JHC Studios in LA/Hollywood; check your MC FAQ's for the address. I'm sure it will get where it needs to go.

You guys have me all so excited :) To get something from them would very much help ease the hurt and depression I've been feeling lately. Only, I'm afraid you will scorn me, but while I am a Muppet fan, I don't know specifics on the people behind the muppets, nor specific addresses in which to send them to.

I would love to get Miss Piggy or Gonzo autographs. Can anyone help?

Then you should write to Dave Goelz (Gonzo), Frank Oz or Eric Jacobson (Piggy)

You can find the address in the FAQ or somewhere in this thread

Hi Everyone -

I wrote to Kevin Clash last September and never heard anything. I didn't ask for a picture of Elmo at that time (I guess I should have) and I'm not sure I sent to a good address. I have one now in New York at the Sesame Street Workshop.

Anyhow, I digress........how long did you all wait before you got your pictures? My Elmo collection definitely needs an autographed picture.

Thanks.

Write them and try. See what happens. Be sure to send a postage paid 9x11" envelope when sending for a picture to be sure you get one back!

Since I'd like to try writing to the Anything Muppets, I just want to ask you guys a question and see what you suggest:

How can I address them? Should I use "AMS", "The AMs", "Anything Muppets", or "The Anything Muppets"?

After all, I believe I can write to them using the Sesame Workshop address.

Thanks for your help, and have a good night!

If you're writing specifically to the Anything Muppets, I would say, "Dear Anything Muppets."

If you're writing about them and referring to them, I would say "The Anything Muppets."
