I just saw on the promos for Hollywood Squares that both Kermit and Piggy will appear on next week's shows. It looks like they'll be sharing the same square. She didn't speak, so I don't know who'll be performing her.

Thanks for the great news! Yep, they are going to be on.

Hollywood Squares' Web site (http://www.hollywoodsquares.com/whoswho/whosonnextweek.asp) has them listed as next week's guests.

It will be great to see Kermit and Piggy interacting together all next week.

It's amazing what you learn from those crazy profiles.

Apparently, Miss Piggy was on "Sesame Street" and "Sam and Friends"!

Good grief.

Not another appearance on Hollywood Squares.

I wonder if Kermit and Piggy will have any questions that don't deal with frogs, pigs, and Sesame Street (watch any Muppet appearance on Hollywood Squares, and each time they are picked, they have a question about frogs, pigs, or Sesame Street).

I'm very close to watching that Family Fued appearance...

Hey, Whoopie's leaving next season. Maybe one of the muppets could be the center square. Pepe needs something to do now...

I saw Monday's episode, and I would bet my Muppet Show Series 1 Figures that that was not Frank as Piggy. The voice was incredible, but not Frank. My bet would be Eric Jacobson.
What did you guys think?

Hi!
Yeah, I'm 100% sure it was Eric. He DID do Piggy very well last night. But she was a little too tame ;)

BTW, if anybody gets these show on tape let me know! I really want them and I can't record them (too busy)

Finally I hear Miss Piggy definitely being performed by Eric Jacobson! He is fantastic. He doesn't sound quite like Oz's Piggy these days, rather is sounds closer to classic Piggy toward the end of The Muppet Show. I am very happy to see the pig in such capable hands..er hand. :) :) :)

I was thinking the same thing.

After Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I thought that Eric's Piggy didn't sound like Frank's recent Piggy. On Thursday I had that episode of Hollywood Squares on in the background, not paying attention to it, when I realized that Eric's Piggy was more of a "classic Piggy".

I am not much of a Piggy fan, but this makes me really happy...

I have often felt that Frank's Piggy has sounded weird for the past decade. I hope he keeps working with the Muppets when he can, but I am no longer worried about his replacement. I just want to hear Fozzie now!

Holy cow...I havent seen Piggy and Kermit together in awhile, and was blown away how 'they' are as current as ever...the chemistry, wow! This wasnt Oz??? WOW!!! You really have to hand it to the talented performers at JHC!

So whats next on the Muppet tv appearence front?

You heard about the Denny's commercials, right? I want to see what a non-Oz Fozzie would sound like.

Hey,
I think that the only thing wrong eith Eric's Piggy is the movement.

But Maybe its becuase her head and body is one peice now ?

Or maybe because 2 performers are smooshed in that little square together...

Even though I suppose they are used to that.

I heard Eric's Fozzie's voice on totaly nascar last week, he dose a pretty good job. i'm sad too see Frank be replaced, but i'm happy his muppets will still live on and we can now see more of them because frank couldn't always be there.

yeah i'm with you that now that frank is getting older, piggys voice has changed, that goes for fozzie's voice as well.

hmm, but what about Animal and Sam now?

Cookie Monster, Bert, Grover,Miss Piggy and Fozzie all have a new voice. I don't know, I guess Animals voice could be easier to replace because it's not like animal says a more then a few words at a time just a lot of gunting and yelling, but still. hmm, how about Sam?

Zack)Rowlf, now they have to find a good voice for Dr Teeth,(his MFS voice was great! i think it was john) Janice and scooter, and will be all set!oh but they have to use the voice's i'm still waiting for Rowlf to say something on tv, how about a Denny's ad?;-)Dog.

Warrick-

In Hollywood Squares this week, I tried to notice if Miss Piggy's head and body moved together and they really didn't. Maybe they changed the puppet. About difference of movement - Kermit still moves differently than Jim's version. It's just something we'll get used to, I guess. Eric's version of Piggy really rocks!

Zack-

Well Animal should be simple to voice. If Eric can do Cookie Monster so well, he can certainly do him. My only concern is that with all the work at SS he may have scheduling conficts. It worked out for Oz though.

The same thing for Sam. If Eric's Fozzie is okay, I think Sam - a much easier voice - would be no problem. I am so happy that these characters are back. Now for Janice!!

Yeah i think he may be the Voice of Piggy Fozzie, Sam etc in the NEW Christmas movie too, i just HOPE Janice and Dr. Teeth are in there talk and have FR on there too!, could SS be in there or No? .....Hey if somthing should ever happen to Eric i could do Piggy and Fozzie and Animal and Sam.

I could have sworn that was Frank! Do you guys know for sure that it wasn't? If not, I take back every doubt I've ever thought about Eric doing Piggy. That was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

I'm still a little upset/worried about most likely not being able to do Fozzie in the future, but as long as he's in the hands of a performer as good as Eric is with Piggy I think all those feelings will go away. Besides, it's easier for me to do an Animal voice than a Fozzie...

BTW, does anyone know where I could find pictures of Eric?

hey Jamie,
Eric doesn't do Cookie. That's Dave (Baby Bear) Rudman. I also hear that whenFfrank used to do/ does Cookie he had an agreement with the directors/producers that if something went wrong with the take, Frank would be the first to know so he could immedialty abort the scene and save his voice a little. now Dave has the same agreement.

As for Piggy, I missed Hollywood Squares this week, I have seen Dave's Cookie and Eric's Bert and Grover, so far Grover is the onyly one I've been real impressed with, but I can see how he can translate what he's doing with Grover into what he can do with Piggy. how was the chemistry between kermit and Piggy? Since Jim died I've found NO chemistry with bert and Ernie (though to be truthful I don't like Steve's Ernie at all. I find him annoying)

I think Steve's problem with Ernie is that he snickers FAR too much. Jim kept the snicker to a minimal, maintaining it as a classic character trait; Steve's Ernie snickers after almost every other line and wears it out. He talks a little too rapidly also.

Another thing on Sesame Street that makes me groan these days is David Rudman's Cookie Monster. In an effort to produce the gravelly effect, there's very little soul or inflection to the voice. It just sounds like he's trying too hard.

Eric Jacobson and Steve Whitmire have incredible chemistry as Bert and Ernie...their new sketches together are AMAZINGLY funny.

Oops. Thanx for the correction. I don't know what I was thinking. So maybe Rudman or someone else can do Animal. I hear that Clash did him a bit in MT, but I never noticed a thing. He could be a good choice.

Eric's Piggy was fantastic. The voice seemed higher - more like classic Piggy! The spark between Kermit and Piggy is back also. It is obvious that Eric and Steve are having a good time and feel honored to perform these characters. Oz really has phoned it in for the last decade IMHO. He gave us years of Miss Piggy and I don't mind if it's time for him to step down. My only concern is that they keep the voice consistant. If Eric performs his characters and Frank pops in from time to time I think it coulld be uneven. I think the ultimate replacement of all his characters was his idea from the start and is happening now. I never really bought that " Frank will perform when he has the time" bit about his SS characters. I just hope Eric is around for a long time. How old is he?

Hey guys,
I didn't see the NASCAR Fozzie appearance, but it's my understanding that Eric is not taking over Fozzie, that John Kennedy is. I've seen John perform Fozzie and he does a great job. It's my suspicion that it was John on the NASCAR apprearance.

Well that makes it even better. Easier to get the bear and pig in the same scene without dubbing!

Yeah now Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear Gonzo and hopfuly Rowlf, could all be in the same scenes a lot easier, not that gonzo ever had a problem, but this is even better if they do live show's or game show's,but that leave Pepe and rizzo out. I would hope now that Rowlf will be come one of Bill's main muppets along with Pepe.

Zack)Rowlf the, but don't forget about Bobo and Jonny! Dog.
