got this email update from Fox Studios... cannot wait to see it! Yeah.. Simpsons Rule!

The Simpsons Movie had an extraordinary opening all over the world this past weekend, grossing over $170M in its first few days. In America, it was the highest opening weekend ever for a non-sequel animated film. Overseas it has set numerous records in the United Kingdom, and has become the biggest ever animated film opening weekend in history for Australia, the #1 film in France & Germany, and the industry’s biggest opening ever in Argentina, Chile & Colombia.

I haven't heard that... hope not!

You'd think they'd wouldn't want to miss out on the phenomenal DVD sales they would get!

No no no, don't worry. There will be a DVD release!:)

In fact, the filmmakers have said they already recorded an audio commentary.

They record commentary as soon as the movie is finished.

This is great news. They will no doubt make a sequal or something now. and hopefully this will bring them a step closer to making a Family Guy theatrical movie. It's already spreading around the rumor.

But honestly, I'd rather see an American Dad or a Futurama movie. I can even see the plot right now for American Dad. After a bunch of false alarms (a boy who cried wolf story) Stan is the only one that knows of a humongous attack on the US, and he single handedly has to stop it.

Sure. I wouldn't be surprised if this film hit DVD by the end of the year.

I was watching some Special on TV guide channel with coverage from the premere, and I think the host said that they are planning i think 2 or 3 more movies.

I dont think she knew much about the simpsons though. She didnt know how to pronounce Matt Groenings last name. She said "Grow-ning", not "Grey-Ning".

Anywhoo, I'm seeing it sometime after this week. My faith in it has gone up. To be honest, I really did think the movie would be horrible, but with all these reviews giving it like, 4 stars, my hopes are rising...a bit

Reportedly (from my Simpsons fanatic friends) there are two more contractual movie options. There will likely be at least one more film. Maybe even two, but after that someone call the lawyers and the bank!

I enjoyed the film. There have been greater episodes, but the film deserves at least a B. :D

And they were all in the first 10 seasons. I'm really happy the movie turned out great. Especially after seeing episodes where Bart's dog becomes a beer mascot, Homer buys an old Ambulence and mistakes it for a taxi, Lisa entering a spelling bee, Lisa going on a commercial for American Idol, and Marge talking like a baby or some sort of 1950's Housewife (thus killing the character by making her a joke).

Well who didn't think the Simpsons movie would be a box office smash. I mean it's the longest running cartoon show of all time with a huge fan base.

Its also almost impossible to get those BK toys. I have 4 of them (Apu, Barney, and today I got Homer and some guy that is in the movie). But we have to get to BK exactly at like, 11 or 12, or we arent getting any. Basically, they sell out the first 2 hours. I know now they have a limit to 3 happy meals per customer. I want to try and get most of them. But I dont want them for their value, I want them because I want them. People are buying them to resell cause people will pay tens of dollars for toys that probably cost less than a dollar to make, and its not fair to those who just want tthem to have them. I opened mine and put them on my shelf. I dont xcare how much they are going to be worth, I just want them because they are "fun" little toys. Even though the speech sounds like crap. Ok, I'm done my rantings

Which one are you going to that you actually have to buy the meals? Ones I've been to you can purchase them sepperately for like a buck fifty each. I was able to get Krusty, Wiggum, and Apu. I could have got Lisa, but I just don't care too much about her. i'm going after the ones I REALLY want.

Actually, that IS everyone but Lisa, actually.

I think some of the problem is that they might be giving them out at breakfast. But...I'd rather have the food and the toy than have just the toy and no food :D

Yeah! the success of the movie really surprised me! I mean I thought it was pretty old and faded years ago. But I think now was just the right time and it more popular all over the world now then any other time, too. Fox did a really bang up job with the marketing of this film! And things like someone stealing a homer statue really worked to it's advantage, too. It's past 200 million already.

Aussies always pronounce it Grow-ning not Grey-ning... seems to come naturally to us probably cause of our accents? Even though I know it's pronounced Greyning I still find myself saying Grow-ning most of the time... I think it's cause to me the spelling would naturally sound out like Growning... I mean if you look at the vowels... I can't understand where the pronunciation of Grey-ning comes from?

maybe it's a silent o & e with an invisible e & y in there! :)

I too didn't think the movie would be all that it was... I'd stopped watching Simpsons a while ago cause I think I got a bit of Simpson re-run overload. Here in Australia they're played pretty much every day on free to air TV and the pay TV Cable networks have it playing nearly all day on some channels!

But I'm looking forward to seeing the movie cause of all the reviews and also to see the extra special effects they've put in! And because it's all new comedy (especially of the Homer variety) I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it.

Oh no not at all... I'm sorry if my message came across that way. That's the only thing that I find hard with email, forums and instant messaging... what's written can so easily be interpreted differently from how it was meant because we can't add tone or body language. I've had a few misunderstandings through email before... just goes with the territory of the written word.

No offence whatsoever :) And I'm sorry if my message came across as being harsh in anyway.
