having a movie under their belt (albiet animated, not live action) the Simpsons have had a lot of success that the Flintstones had. Even though their cereal didn't last as long as Pebbles.

The Flintstones did actually have one full-length, animated movie released in theatres.

The Man Called Flintstone (1966) was released after the series had ceased production. It was co-directed and co-written by Hanna/Barbera, and was a spoof of the then-current spy craze.

So that WAS theatrically released. I thought it was made for TV.

Anyway, As for the Simpsons, it took 17 years for a film.

The Jetsons pretty much waited over 20 years for one.

The Jetsons Cereal didn't last very long either. Pretty good by the way.
