Is Gonzo still considered an alien? Or is he back to being a whatever.

That is a very good question. Let's ask Oscar and find out...
:grouchy: : "None of your ******* buisness!" (slams lid)
Uh.... Maybe it would be better to ask Beaker...
 : "Mee mee mee mee, mee mee meeep meep me"
And there you have it!

I don't know what the official word is, but to me, he always was and always will be a whatever.

Yup. Anything but a creature from outer space.

The 50th Anniversary DVD interviews refer to him as a whatever. So, just as Kermit and Fozzie aren't really twins, I don't think Gonzo's officially an alien... at least not anymore. ;)

Hey minor, having the muppets type posts for me is my routine!
But you did it well, kind of interesting having Oscar curse.
Anyway, personally I like the idea of Gonzo as an alien, but he can still be a whatever, because a lot of questions were left unanswered by that movie
For instance:
1. What is the name of gonzo's planet of origin?
2. There were no female Gonzo's on the ship, so what exactly is the status of the female members of his species, do they enjoy an emerging equality like us earthlings or are they third-class citzens like the ferengei of Star Trek?
3. How did Gonzo's obsession with chickens develop?
4. How was Gonzo left behind on earth anyway?

Actually, there were. I remember one in particular, who seemed to be on the same level as Ubergonzo or just beneath him. She says "The cape for Ed!" when Ubergonzo calls for the cape. There's also at least one female gonzo with pigtails, although I don't think she has any lines.

I like to pretend that his species' official title was Whatever.

Personally, I'm intrigued by Jim Henson's pencil sharpener analogy. Lol
