I found Jim, Frank and Michael Talk about the Muppets on youtube. They talk about :) . How they write, film, and perform him. :) even explains how he looks at the camera. This is rare as it was ment for the Jim Henson Company to see only. Here is the link http://youtube.com/watch?v=IPKng8j9Mnw&mode=related&search= . I post it here as well as in the Muppets on youtube thread as it explains the Jim Henson Companys techniques for performing puppetry and is a good learning tool. Enjoy.

Hahaha! The look on Kermit's face when Jim calls him a glorified sock puppet is PRICELESS! ...Of course, that was *Jim* and not *Kermit* because *Kermit* is a *coughpuppetcough* but just shows you what a master Jim was, not that we, you know, didn't know that already... hehe
That was wonderful, thanks a lot! I love seeing behind the scenes stuff soooooo much.
My big question is, if this was meant for JHC people only, how'd it end up on youtube?

Great find! I never realized that the Muppets "lean slightly forward" to be more realistic, like they're hunching as opposed to having perfect posture.

Now I don't feel so bad for leaving Muley in a slanted position most of the time. Yay.
Good find and great video. Too bad Frank and Jim don't say as much in this video.

One wonders where the rest of the video is, and what else they discuss.

The title at the front of the video indicates that this was produced for internal use, does anyone know if this was one of the videos created for training purposes? It certainly seems to be.

I don't know that it would be a training video as much as something meant for performance and merchandisers. A lot of it is about posture and design as well as puppeteering.

I also got the impression it was a guide for creating merchandise and non-puppet Muppet performance. My initial thought was that it could be a guide for traditional and/or CGI animators, but were things advanced enough for that while Jim was still around?

This is part of videos created in preparation for the old Henson/Disney deal (which ultimately fell through). It was made as an internal video to show Disney merchandisers how to capture/draw/design the characters for logos, T-shirts, buttons, greeting cards, figurines, TrapperKeepers, coloring books, and whatever else they could/would think of to putting the Muppets on or in. Although Disney didn't use it then, I think Henson did use, share and reference the video with merchandisers themselves.
I do wonder how this video "got out" and on the web, and if anyone has more of it out there. Until I saw this on YouTube I had only ever heard about these videos and saw quick muted clips in montages and tributes to Jim.

This is a very nice little clip. I like how Jim explains that Kermit used to be more of a comic but later became more of a straight man. Reminds me of Gonzo and his recent move towards Muppet leadership.
Of course I can't help revelling in the fact that Beauregard had an appearence in this short making of.
Hopefully this will help with taking photos of my Kermit poser.

This is great. Glad you like it. I especially like it when kermit explains how he poses for the camera. priceless.
Great Clip!! It's sad to see Jim like that I read the Comments on Youtube that Mention this was tape a month before he died.

Wow, really cool video. I didnt know about alot of that stuff. I liked it when kermit was talking about how to get the eyes to focus on the camera, and how just tilting his head makes a big difference.
Michael Frith mentioned the magic triangle.
