Any news from HIT Entertainment?

Season 2 was just recently released, and it usually takes a year to produce a DVD box set... but hopefully if sales go good, I expect we will have Season 3 by the end of the year. :)

We will know soon enough. Most things in life take time.

It will probably come out in September if we get one... The other two have come out in consecutive septembers, if memory serves correct. :) I did my part; I own both. ^^

I pestered HIT about this today:

Quoth I:
Do you have any new releases planned, either for Fraggle Rock season 3 or individual Fraggle Rock DVDs?

Thanks!

Their reply:
Thank you for contacting us. No information is available at this time, but please check back this fall for updates.

Thank you for your interest in HIT Entertainment.

So's not to be too disappointed in the long wait, I'm viewing this as a sign that we've got some time to lobby for pet special features. :) Personally, I want to see Kathy Mullen interviewed! (Go Mokey!)

It was around this time last year that Season 2 was announced, so if Season 3 is coming I suspect we should hear about it within the next few weeks.

That sounds like a generic, safe message. It doesn't mean they're not planning to release it at some point.

I think they said on this site's Season 2 set review they were going to see what the profits on that set would be (which should be analyzed soon by what that said) before they made the go-ahead decision (which I think personally will be in the affirmative; I think sales have probably been decent enough to warrant it).

If they are making a new movie, i'm sure they have to have enough interest to release all the over sets on DVD. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

melissa@muppet
02-01-2007, 10:46 PM
it would be silly not to release all the seasons of fraggle rock especially since the movie is coming. I hope they will release it the same time as the movie.

I bet HIT gets tired of our anxiousness...however, I bet they enjoy knowing the sales are already there.

After writing an enthusiastic e-mail to HIT's Consumer Relations department (letting them know how much I'm enjoying Season Two and how I can't wait for Season Three), I received this encouraging response:

Thank you for contacting us. It is wonderful to hear how much you like Season Two. Please check back for updates this Fall on Fraggle Rock!

Thank you for your interest in HIT Entertainment.

If anyone wants to do what I did and confirm with HIT that we're all patiently awaiting the third season on DVD, please do!

I really do hope Season 3 comes out soon. I didn't buy the Season 1 or 2 boxed set, but I would definetley buy Season 3. Some of my most favorite episodes took place during that year. Like, Gunge the Great and Glorious, Battle of the Leaking Roof, Boober and the Glob (the only episode where Boober and Cotterpin interacted), and playing till it hurts. I also LOVE the episode titled "Gobo's School for explorers" it was a very intense and emotional episode. Season 3, in my opinion was the best Fraggle Season of all. :smirk::excited:

I guess we just have to keep writing to HIT and Henson and ask whether or not the season 3 boxset will ever be released. Hopefully it will be sometime before the end of this year. :smirk:

It's interesting that we got S1 and S2 Fraggle Rock quicker between the two than Diz provided S2 TMS to us, eh?

I go to the Target store in back backyard ( ;) ) almost daily and I keep an eye on how the Fraggle Rock DVD sets and the Sababa plushes sell there. I must say that they get restocked often which is very double-plus good. Also, for those interested, the Sababa plush fraggles packaged with DVDs are on sale this week for $9.99. Not bad at all if'n you don't have them or want more. :smirk: :excited:

Hi, ok I emailed them yesterday (thanks for posting the addy) and they wrote back this:

Thank you for contacting us. Season Three will more than likely be released sometime this fall.

Thank you for your interest in HIT Entertainment.

Yay! I hope that's true. I wrote back a thank you, it pays to be polite. :) Especially since it sort of sounds like they've had to answer this question a few times. It's great that people have been writing in. :excited:

I think its dumb that they say it takes a year for DVD's to come out. I am collecting Full House. I have seasons 1-6 so far, in the same amount of time seasons 1-2 came out with Fraggle Rock.

heralde
03-30-2007, 11:04 AM
It sounds like it's the special features that mainly take so long. The Full House DVDs are great but reviewers say the special features could be better.

I do hope it's really true that Season 3 is coming out in the Fall as the email I got said. Just have to wait and see.

Hmm, it looks like my email was right, at least for the time being. Muppet Newsflash just posted this:

http://muppetnewsflash.blogspot.com/2007/03/fraggle-rock-season-three-on-dvd.html

This song just came to me...seemed appropriate!

"Today has been a perfect day,
'Cause all my friends just came my way.
My friends they taught me just like that,
And now I'm singing in my hat.

A perfect day, they came my way.
A dancing ring and a song to sing.
Lots of fun, we ate a bun.
It's a perfect day!" :)

That's very true. The special features for any boxset are what typically take the most time, effort and money to produce.

If we have to wait a full year between Fraggle seasons in order to get the great bonus material that's been made available, I'm all for it.

Awesome!

I really hope HIT continues with the cast and crew interviews that made the first two sets so wonderful.

Maybe they could toss in some old HBO promos (like the ones that surfaced on the internet in recent weeks), a jukebox of Fraggle songs from Season 3 and a neat little tribute to Richard Hunt.

Maybe?

I know! Yeah having all the Fraggle songs in one place would be kinda useful, instead of trying to skip to them in each episode. And I think they were consciously making the effort to mention Richard in the first two sets so, here's hoping for something. But if not, there's always the Mean Genie episode, I really want to see that again! lol

I must say that I am highly excited about the upcoming release of Season 3. Not to sound like Mr. Cheap, but if Season 3 and 4 are not combined, then I hope Season 3 is not charged the same price as Season 1 and 2 were. Anyway, I will not be pessimistic about it! The release of Season 3 is great news regardless!

Sincerely,
me!

Hmmm... I saw them at TJMax for 8 bucks. Unfortunately, they only had Red. I mean, I want Red, just I want Wembly more. I did track one Wembly down, but some &^%* pulled the DVD off.

I think you mean 4 and 5? Season 3 runs to 22 episodes (technically it also includes Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water and Sidebottom Blues as they were taped in the same production block).

Oh! :) You are right! For some reason I thought season 3 had the least amount of episodes. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll just postpone my post until Season 4 is announced.

At last I get one of my favorite episodes on DVD, The Bells of Fraggle Rock.

Although the whole of season 3 will be great to have.

Thanks Hit! Keep 'em coming!
