If you had to pick three celebs to be in Fraggle Rock the Movie, who would you pick? :smirk: :excited:
Well, if John Denver were still living, he'd be at the very top of my list. Not only because of his close relationship with Jim Henson and the Muppets, but also because his music is so similar to the style that the Fraggles had.
Here are a few names off the top of my head that I feel would work:
Matthew Broderick
Dakota Fanning
Jamie Fox

I completely agree with John Denver and Matthew Broderick. Matthew's continued to be a great actor, despite his getting older and changing roles. :)

It would be darling if Dakota Fanning was in it, that would seriously be pretty neat. I can see Jamie Foxx as well working with the fraggles.

Will Ferrell

I would love to see Christopher Lloyd. He's got the right personality and we haven't seen him for years!
Lol, I feel bad latching on to everyone else's choices when I haven't come up with any myself yet! Now I know how Wembley feels!
Gobo: "Hey Wembley, what if it were you?"
Wembley: "You?!"
Gobo: "Or me?"
Wembley: "Me?! Wow!"

I want the Fraggles to sing a ska song with any ska band
Dana Carvey to play the drums with the Fraggles

My top 3: Christopher Walken, Harry Belafonte and Andy Richter.

Will Ferell, Bill Cosby, and Robin Williams. That would be my dream come true.
You know, Prawnie, I thought about Robin Williams too, but I think even he would be a little too intense for a Fraggle production. If it were just a cameo, yes, but not in a bigger supporting role. Even though I love the man to death!

Dakota Fanning, Ellen Degeneres and... Hmm.
Maybe a muppeteer cameo?
Or why not get us MC people. :)

Oh, that's definitely what I was thinking too. Actually, I was thinking cameo status for all these people.

My top choices would probably be:
-Macaulay Culkin
-Tony Shalhoub
-Catherine O'Hara
And although I don't know if he can act, for some reason Donovan McNabb stands out, perhaps because he cuts a family-friendly image (although if they got creative they could run with it; perhaps Traveling Matt comes into Texas Stadium and comes upon him going at it verbally with Terrell Owens and marks it down as Silly Creature behavior. Or not...).
Were John Candy still here, I'd put him down hands down.

Harry Belafonte, Ellen Degeneres and Tom Hanks. :excited:
John Denver would be my first choice too if he was still alive.

I like the Tom Hanks choice. well thought out

I'd say Jenifer Coolage (she's crazy, yet hilarious...somehwat looks lik the Trashheap, actually...though maybe she isn't child-friendly...), Robbie Williams (singer, not Robin Williams actor), and...hmm...Tom Hanks would be a good choice so I'll agree with you guys on that.

Beau, I am not so sure that Robbie Williams is child friendly either. I always think of that video where he rips his skin off

Well that's true...but his songs do have many meaningfull and complex words, and his diverse singing style does match that of the Fraggles.

I am not so sure that Jim Henson is child friendly. I always think of that Gorch sketch where Peuta and Scred get drunk, smoke up and have sex.
Most performers have an adult side and a kid-friendly side - it all depends on the audience of the production. I don't think the producers would cast someone who was inappropriate in the role or a bad role model or anything like that. If anyone who has ever done something "non-kid-friendly" was excluded from Muppet productions there would be no one left to perform or work on them.

... wow.
Looking at some (not all, but some) of the choices... I honestly can't see certain people working with the Fraggles, and still making it Fraggly.
Will Ferrell? I could deffenitely see him in a Muppet movie, but... with Fraggles?

After watching The Producers and Deck the Halls, I agree that Mathew Broderick is a great actor. Having sad that, it's hard to think up ceelbrities who would work well in a Fraggle Rock movie, because Fraggle Rock never had any celebrity guest appearances.

Okay, I have given it soem thought in the last 35 seconds, and I have to say that I think Weird Al Yankovic, Andy Milonakis (imagine him encountering Traveling Matt, or one of the other fraggles if they do enter the real world, and asking him a stupid question), and Whoopi Goldberg would be great to see in the Fraggle Rock movie.

Whoever they are, someone give them some calming pills before they start to film. They are not Fraggles, no matter how hard they try, they are humans. Be sure to act like humans not Fraggles my little actor friends.

I too woulda gone with Will Ferrell... and Daka Fanning... they're both really climb'n to the top.
Tom Hanks i doubt, only because he'd cost too much. Plus i feel he has dry humor sometimes... not saying he is a bad actor.. i love his movies... but i dont see him in the mix with Fraggles.
i'll go with people not listed that i would like to see... Hugh Jackman, Alyson Hannigan, Seth Green.
thinkin again tho... Mike Myers would be nice... he did Cat in the Hat so hes child friendly and he too is Canadian... not that it really means n e thing... yea i'll just keep shut now

I would pick Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and... hmm..... uh... Glenn Close? I dunno. Mike Myers wouldn't be a bad choice.
I can't really think of too many actors who would go well with the Fraggles... As I said in another thread, I don't think they're the kind of characters that should be bantering with humans-- leave that to the main Muppets!

Mmmmm...Glenn Close as a villian...I can see that happening.

I thought about this earlier and I think if they got the right actors to actually play parts in the movie, it would be great. But I don't think that celebrity cameos would work as well with Fraggles as in the other muppet movies. Unless they were puppeteer cameos like they did in the show sometimes.

I think Ellen would be a pretty great cameo--like, maybe the Fraggles would walk by a TV store and see Ellen's talk show on all the screens. :D Or maybe she'd walk by, notice them, and say to the person next to her, "Those are some funny-lookin' kids."
As for Abigail Breslin (the one from Little Miss Sunshine, right?), I think she'd be adorable alongside the Fraggles! ^.^
I don't know who'd be my last choice for a celebrity. It'd probably do some good to add at least one Muppeteer cameo.

Ellen would make a great cameo!
I'd also really love to see Shia LeBeouf (did I spell that right?) because he's young and talented and I think it would give littler kids a cameo they recognised, and maybe Tom Hanks, because I love Tom Hanks.

What a Great Idea for a post!
My top Three would be:
David Bowie
Adam Sandler
Johnny Depp
Why I chose them:
Well how funny would it be to see David Bowie on there! I would love that and I know I am not alone of this! Maybe not in tights though!
I think Adam Sandler would be hilarious in the movie, he has a different sense of humor like no one else I have ever seen.
Johnny Depp is not only is he the hottest guy on the planet but he can play any charactor he sets his mind to, although I would love Captain Jack to make an Appearance! I can see it now! The fraggles set out on the sea and he pulls up in his ship " Come on! It's not like I haven't had enough with the ghosts and the Kraken... but now some colorful fuzzy creatures..can't a pirate get a break?"
I really hope there are many appearances in the movie, I can't wait!
Justin Timberlake
Cameron Diaz
or Snoop Dizzal!!
Random I know!!!
