I truelly think all its gonna be is there gonna sing the same songs, over, over, and over again. It's gonna be really annoying, all they are trying to do is a ripoff of American Idol.

Close, Barry. It's actually a ripoff of an English show called "How Do You A Solve A Problem Like Maria?" wherein they looked for the next big thing to star in the West End as Maria in the Sound Of Music.

GREASE: YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT! premieres tonight at 8/7c on NBC!! There will also be a special edition of DEAL OR NO DEAL tonight at 7/6c in which the models will dress up as though they are from "Greaes" as a fan of the musical fro San Jose, California competes... hoping for a chance to speak with Olivia Newton-John (Sandy).
And you know the irony is, the song "You're the One That I Want" was written for the movie and isn't part of the Broadway score.

Wow, that just looked like it's gonna suck. Was it sucky? I bet it was sucky.
Daniel
I watched it tonight and it was pretty lame. Why were the girls singing the Rizzo song when they are auditioning for Sandy. These people don't know what they're auditioning for and most of the ones picked so far are not even the Sandy type.

I watched the show and I really liked it. Now I have grown up in a theatrical house and listened to musicals my whole life. Like I said I liked it. I like the whole concept of the show.

I don't like those judges at all. I don't enjoy these shows where all the judges are cruel just for TV shock value. That said, some of the contestants show promise. It would be interesting if they got a Sandy who was a different type than what we're used to.

I thought Deja had a great voice. To bad she couldnt dance. It would be great to have an African American Sandy.

I too have grown up watching a lot of theatre and musicals, and I continue too as I am in the theatre business as an actor, but I will have to disagree with you. I was not impressed with the show at all. It had a few interesting moments, but I didn't find it that great.

The show is a bit more entertaining than I thought it would be. I hope they concentrate on the acting, as much as the singing and dancing. That gets overlooked too often. Though, I've seen no one that I would vote for. Most of these people aren't professionals, it's purely a TV show gimic. But it will be interesting to see who wins.

I wish that John Travolta would do some guest spots on the show.
John Travolta has other things to do.

You would think he would want to help make famous a show that is paying tribut to the show that made him famous. He is too busy worshiping the aliens with Tom Cruise. And they called Gonzo a wierdo.

John Travolta was already pretty famous before Grease. He had a succesful TV show and Saturday Night Fever. I'm not saying that's why he isn't participating in the show, just pointing it out. :)

I'm pretty sure that John is busy eating and praying to aliens from another planet to be on that show. Besides, he can't act his way out of a paper bag, how can he teach others how to act, sing and dance. The only problem that I would have with this, is the fact that the people at home get to pick the winners. So, the winners could kinda suck but be very popular with a majority of the country that may never see them perform it. Just like American Idol. The best don't always win. That's just my opinion on it.
