The legendary actor died today at age 87. He's best known for his roles in "Shane" and the Playhouse 90 production of "Requiem For A Heavyweight". Most people know him for his comedic turn at age 70 in "City Slickers".

Wow! This is such shocking news for me! I never would have expected to see this today! City Slickers is one of my all time favorite movies and Jack Palance was so brilliant in it (Academy Award winning role, you know!) I am so saddened by this, but I know he'll be riding in heaven passing on that wonderful philosophy of that "one thing" that truly matters in life.

Man... this is terrible. One of my favorite actors, no doubt. I saw The Professionals when I was really young, and I loved it so much... What a cool dude.

I wonder what Billy Crystal is going through right now. He became close with Jack Palance when doing City Slickers. In fact, Crystal created that role for him.
