Were you guys aware that the original Fozzie Bear is moving from the Teddy Bear Museum in Stratford Upon Avon, England to be auctioned at Christies in London soon?

Does anyone have any details of the sale date/time etc?:o

Sweet! Thanks A lot MuppetDanny!

That is one Old looking Fozzie...and it's interesting that his nose collapsed. It's Cool it was given to the museum by Jim.

Was the entire collection sold together? Or were the bears auctioned seperatly?

I'd imagine they'd be sold individually, or in small groups, the way Christies (and others) usually do it.

The below link if it works shows video of Fozzie and other bears to be auctions. The interview leads one to believe they wanted to sell the entire the collection to one bidder to continue the museum. I don't know if that happened. If you watch the interview, it will show the original tag sewn in the lining of the Fozzie puppet.

Another link states is a buyer for the whole collection is not found by the end of the year it will be sold bear by bear.

This link let me actually enlarge the images without being a member. You can also see how Fozzie has aged in more detail. Looks like some of the foam construction is caving in. They must have not had people on had like the Smithsonian to keep their pieces in good repair. Would be nice to see Disney have the chance to buy him back to put with the original Kermit.

This is really sad news.

I was hoping to go to the museum to see him again soon. Although I am glad I went when I did as I may never have seen him.

I would love to buy this puppet, as Im sure many of us would.

I just heard that The Telegraph paper also had an article on this with a picture of Fozzie, although I didnt see it!!

Here I aqm below holding hands with fozzie at the museum earlier this year. Lets hope he goes to another Museum where he can still be enjoyed.

How ironic the sign under Fozzie says "A Fozzie Farewell" :(

Gah! That is not the Fozzie we all know and love. Don't they have a way to preserve it?
