Hey, am I the only one who noticed that the ending theme for 1985-1991 episodes of "Muppet Babies" is actually an instrumental version of the "Little Muppet Monsters" theme? I think that theme is pretty cool, but it works better as end credits for "Muppet Babies." Here are my new lyrics for that theme...

Muppet Babies, Muppet Babies,
And they make our dreams come true!
Cause they're Muppets, and they're very young,
So that leads into loads of fun...

Cause they make our dreams come true!
And they'll do the same for you!
When your room looks kinda weird
And you wish that you were there
Just close your eyes and make believe
And you can be anywhere...

Muppet...
Babies...
YEAH!
Cause the Muppets, they make dreams come true!

The final line is done to the tune of the "bad trumpet" ending to the theme.

Pretty cool, huh?

What is little Muppet Monsters?

Little Muppet Monsters was a tie in with the Muppet Babies to make an hour show for kids. They were three Muppet Monsters named Tug, Molly and Boo. They lived in a basement, which they would try to show some tv shows. They had animated verisons of the Muppets including a Pigs in Space. But this show was short-lived, unlike Muppets Babies, and althought they was fourteen episodes produced, only two aired.

Sometimes Muppet Show Muppets would make a cameo on the show including Scooter and Kermit.

Yes it was very helpful thank you. I wonder why it was cancelled after only 2 episodes. I think it looks kind of cool. Well if you do happen to find a complete episode.....remember me lol

Although Little Muppet Monsters never came on in Australia, I am aware of it as they showed a clip of it in Muppets A Celebration of 30 years. I remember telling my brother Joel that I would love to see that show! I didn't know it only lasted 2 shows in America.
I too have noticed that the closing theme to Muppet Babies was that of LMM. JJandJanice's post no doubt explains why!

I haven't seen Muppet Babies in so long, I never even knew that. (Contrary to popular opinion, I have heard the LMM theme.) Thanks for that cool bit of trivia.

The fact that Little Muppet Monsters has been so tightly locked away is a crime. Do you think there's any chance we'll ever see them again? Even if it's only on YouTube?

It's what I know, I'm a total Jim Henson geek, :) .

As for seeing "Little Muppet Monsters" ever agian. I can't see it happening, it had such a short run, they I don't there will ever be much of a demand for it.

But there is always hope, ;) .

Well, if we ever get Muppet Babies season sets, maybe they could include the two aired LMM episodes on the season 2 set.

I never noticed that the closing theme was ever different. Was the first season closing theme replaced in CBS repeats, syndication, and/ or Nickelodeon broadcasts?

I could see Little Muppet Monsters being released. Only 18 episodes were made. Even if people don't know about it, the Muppets are popular. Just put the logo on there, include a photo of the monster kids, and then put images of the animated versions of the Muppets around it. Maybe have the animated Kermit (in detective attire) next to the logo, and the Pigs in Space cast near the bottom. The Muppets are popular. Use them as the selling point.

I can't see us ever having Muppet Babies DVD sets, there is too much other non-copyrighted stuff, from Star Wars to Henson (since it's now owned by Dinsey), old cartoons and tv shows and so much more.

If you really want to see an episode of "Little Muppet Monsters," try to do some tape trading on this forum. Check Kermieclown, I'm sure he has the very first episode on VHS, he usually likes to trade, but if you don't have anything to trade. Give him like ten bucks and he'll send you a copy, I've done much bussiness with him, he's great, trust me, :) ;) .

For the most part, my only exposure to the show was when WNYW (Fox 5 NYC) was airing repeats on weekday afternoons in the early '90s, and those airings retained the original closing theme on the season 1 episodes. You can watch a season 1 closing here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICCGlHu7GoA).

I kinda wish we had a JAW-DROPPING smilie.

HOLY BUCKETS!! Wow, I never knew how different the show's ending in the 1st season was to the rest of them!! I'm shocked!!

Playhouse Disney UK has the original closing theme on Season One episodes. But I think the Little Muppet Monsters theme makes a better Muppet Babies closing theme.

I don't think I remember the Little Muppet Monsters version of the end credits to Muppet Babies. The instrumental version of the opening theme is the only one I know... I think.

Unfortunately, I did not tape MB or any other show that I watched when I was that age. Too bad I didn't realize how much I would want to relive those memories a decade and a half later!

I had a few Muppet Babies episodes taped back when they were being aired on Nick.

But, sadly I have no idea where that tape is now,

No and it's very unlikey that I will. I recorded these episodes when I was like in the fifth grade and haven't seen it since really. I'm now 21, so that is an idea on how long that tape has been lost. :D

I just watched the clip provided, and I don't ever remember the closing theme being like that, though I've seen most of the first season episodes. And I don't think I got a clear answer the first time, so I'll ask again: was the closing theme music replaced on Nickelodeon? Was it later replaced in reruns on CBS to match the newer closing theme (I know that first seasonr eruns initially replaced Little Muppet Monsters, though I don't know if CBS continued to rerun every episode untill the series ended).

I'm pretty sure they replaced the theme on Nickelodeon. They also didn't show the original ending tags; they just showed one in a restaurant and Animal in a big thing of dough.

What do you mean by that? I know that the "go bye-bye" sequences shown after the credits were shown. Are you referring to something else? I also know that the opening was shortened in most episodes, though I recall seeing a few episodes with the longer opening on a few Nickelodeon broadcasts.

At the end of that You Tube clip, I saw some kind of logo, which was hard to fully see what it was supposed to be, but I don't ever remember that logo being shown.

Here is what happened in this tag:
The Muppet Babies except for Animal were at a table in a fancy restaurant. A waiter (his head is obscured by one of those big silver platters), says "Dinner is served." He shows them the platter, which is a big blob of dough. The babies say, "Mmmmmm!" But then the blob begins moving and the babies panic. The blob opens to reveal Animal, who says "Go bye-bye! Yababababababa!"

The logo you saw in that clip was an early Marvel Productions logo where the logo shines a bit and that's it. Following that is a Henson Associates logo where the exclamation point shines. I have a clean copy of those credits, but it's got a Playhouse Disney announcer over it.

I personally wouldn't mind "best ofs" as long as they weren't syndication edits, like the original Disney released ones in the 90's. They even cut the "Go Bye bye" tags clean off half the episodes.
