This is another story I'm writing. To pass the time, while I'm (still) waiting for Disney to give me word on my book.

Hope you guys enjoy it. :concern:

It was really dark and cold when the bus finally stopped in front of a long boardwalk. He wasn't sure if this was the right place or not. It...was too dark. Too desolate.

"Are you sure this is Cape Doom?" The small boy asked the driver, as he stratched his hooked nose softly.

The bus driver sneered slightly, and pointed towards the lighthouse. "Yeah, this is the place. No one's up there though. Been abandoned for awhile now. Just go up that pathway, and you'll be there."

He nodded, and stepped off of the bus; a small backpack on his back. "Thanks!" He replied to him.

"Yeah...whatever bub." He said, and closed the door behind the small blue boy. While driving away, the boy saw a few people staring at him from the backseat.

Pulling back his sleeve, he glanced at his watch. The boy nodded, and made his way up the passage to the lighthouse.

"I hope he's here." He said softly to himself, as he heard the creatures making noise around him.

I'm intrigued as to who this boy is Sara. And what this story is to be all about. Please don't keep us in suspense too long.

"Mail's here guys!" Scooter yelled, as he set down a huge pack of mail on the table. He quickly backed away, letting all the muppets dive for it.

"Any postcards, guys?" Gonzo asked Kermit, as he shuffled through the mail quickly.

"Hmm....no I don't see any Gonzo. Sorry." He replied, after he had finally finished sorting the mail. "But here's your Insane Weekly."

"Thanks." Gonzo said quietly, as he walked over to the couch. He just set the magazine down without even looking at it. "I wonder why I've not gotten any postcards lately?"

"Maybe your family's just busy or something, Gonzo." Fozzie offered, as he sat down beside Gonzo on the couch. He had a banana in one hand, eating it; and a book of jokes in his other hand. "I mean, I don't talk to Ma all the time. Especially cause we're always doing something around here too."

"It's...it's not like that Fozzie. My family always sends me postcards! They've not missed a single week yet! But...I've not gotten anything from them in 2 weeks!" He said, glaring out the window for a moment.

"Maybe something big happened. I hope they're alright.." The loving bear responded, setting the joke book down for a moment. "Is there anyway for you to contact them?"

Gonzo looked down towards the couch, and frowned. "No. Not that I know of."

"What about those fish people?" Kermit asked, as he stopped by the couch for a moment.

"The Cosmic Fish? I don't know how to contact them!" He retorted, getting frustrated. He saw Rizzo walking by the couch, with a huge plate of bologna balanced in his small hands.

"...my bologna has a first name, it's o-s-c-a-r...my bologna has a last name its...." He looked over at Gonzo for a moment, and stopped his humming, a small frown crossing his features. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Gonzo sighed, and stood up. He didn't answer Rizzo, but instead walked outside and stared up at the early morning sky. Rizzo followed him out there, and sat on a rock in the garden, eating his bologna.

"...why haven't you guys sent me anything yet!" He yelled at the sky. Something felt different to him, but he wasn't sure what it was.

He figured, if yelling didn't work, maybe screaming would. His mind felt weary, and he was worried for his family...no, his people. "TELL ME WHY YOU'VE NOT CONTACTED ME!!!"

------------------------------------------

Clifford walked out onto the backporch, and saw Gonzo asleep on the lawnmower. He had mowed something into the lawn again.

"Aw man...he's gone nuts again. Hey Kerm! Come check out Gonzo, something ain't right with him!" Clifford yelled back into the house. Kermit came outside and sighed.

"Hey...hey Gonzo!" The frog shook the weirdoe's shoulders softly, and Gonzo opened one eye, glancing at his friend. Then he closed it again. "Gonzo...you're not smoking, so you've not been hit by lightning. What is going on out here?" He asked quite softly.

"Something...isn't right, Kermit." He reached into his vest, and pulled out a few of the lastest postcards, and handed them to Kermit. "These are the last few postcards I've gotten from them. It was almost 2 weeks ago, when they sent one. They've never missed a week before! Somethings very wrong!"

Kermit looked over the postcards, and he noticed something strange. They all had very small writing of some sort in the lower left-hand corner. It was too small for the naked eye to see, but it had to be something important.

"Gonzo, do you know what these are?" Kermit asked, pointing to the small areas, that were on all of the postcards he had handed to him.

"No. I figured it was an ink spot.." He suddenly lit up happily. "It could be a secret message!! I'm going to get my magnifying glass!" With that, Gonzo snatched up the postcards from Kermit's flipper, and zoomed inside the house.

"...if he'd shown them to ya eariler, he wouldn't have done that to the lawn, Kerm." Clifford remarked, looking over the mangled lawn. Kermit scrunched his face up, and turned around finally.

"Great...I'll tell him to mow it all down then. At least it'll be level..."

Huh? Better get Fleet over to Sara's room and get him to leak the story to me too.

Good start, wondering what'll come next.
The bus driver saying "Whatever, bub", that a subtle reference to Sean's X-Muppets crossovers?

Hey... That was fast. Really liked the chapter... Scooter: "Mail's here!""
Gonzo getting worried over the lack of postcards, and mowing the lwan weirdly...
Rizzo with the bologna...
Kermit finding the little fine print...

Hope for more soon.

"Where could he be?? Uncle said he would see it and come.." The little boy asked himself, as he sat on a large rock overlooking the sea. He reached into his backpack, and pulled out a bottle of water. He stratched his nose again and frowned. "I wish the air wasn't so dry and salty down here. But...I don't know where else to go."

The sea gave him no answer. Niether did the birds flying in the sky. It was him, on that rock...all alone.

"I miss you Dad..." He said to the unanswering sea, and curled up on the rock to go to sleep in the noonday sun.

---------------------------------------------

"Ah-ha!"

"Ah-ha what, Bunsen? What did you find!?" Gonzo asked excited.

"I found my lucky pen again! Oh isn't that wonderful!" He said. Gonzo's face fell, then he frowned.

"Dr. Honeydew! The postcards! That speck of ink!! What does it all MEAN!!?" He said, nearly jumping the table in worry and excitement.

"Oh! Yes, yes! The postcards! You see, when we put them underneath this high-powered microscope, we see that it says....'Cape Doom'." He stated simply, while looking up at Gonzo.

"Cape Doom! That's where they met me the first time! Something big must be happening!" He was very elated, but his heart sank. "I'd never make it in time...if the last postcard was two weeks ago...they could have come and gone already."

"Perhaps not...you could still try, you know." Bunsen offered, a slight smile on his face.

"But how am I going to get there? We're in Manhattan! That's all the way out in San Fran!!" He said a little angry.

Kermit made his way down the stairs, and he overheard what Gonzo had said. "We could make it a road trip, Gonzo. I mean...that's a really important place wouldn't you think?"

Gonzo agreed, then smiled. "You're a really good pal, Kermit. I don't know anyone else who would...do this for me. Again."

"What are friends for, Gonzo? Come on guys, we're going to Cape Doom!"

---------------------------------------------

The little boy awoke to a bright light, then it went away. It came back again, and he sat up for a moment. He realized it was the lighthouse. Reaching into his backpack again, he pulled out a small envelope. There was a small letter inside, it was originally addressed to Gonzo, but the boy wasn't sure if he'd actually see the blue weirdo or not. He read it to himself, as he had before.

"Dear Little Brother,

This young boy's name is Tanzer. He's asked for you to his Father. He really looks up to you, and he thinks you're quite the cool cat. He loves the daring, and the dangerous. Teach him your ways, and he will grow strong under your care.

As to how this boy could chose you for his Father....when every one of us comes of the age of 30, we aquire children! Weather they be born by mates, or adopted, as you shall be. All of us, raise the children together. But as you are on your own, the boy asked, because he had heard of the tales of your daring acts, for your own family. So, as you have family, we have decided after long deliberation, to allow the boy, Tanzer to come join you as your son. Please, raise him in the loving kindness and fearlessness that you yourself was raised in.

Many thanks,
Ubergonzo."

"....I hope Daddy makes it..." Tanzer murmured softly, in the waning moonlight. A few teardrops splattered the letter, and he closed it up, folding it back inside the envelope. Wrapping his blanket back around him, he crawled back into the small cave he had found, and slowly dipped into a sweet silence, as sleep overtook the little alien.

Aw... Cute, and a little teary. Again, the bit about how all of Gonzo's race acquire children at 30 years of age... The age at which this happens, another subtle X-Muppets crossover hint?
Heh... Guess I need to clear out my own cobwebs and make up my mind as to how I wanna proceed with my own stuff. Well, that can keep under wraps for now, got a finals exam tomorrow.

Unless any of you, my forum friends wish to help out...

Yes! I love it when writers torment me with story!

And the teeny-tiny writing on the corner of the post cards... I can imagine it perfectly. Although that may have something to do with the size of my own handwriting when I'm writing fanfic on a notecard... or a napkin ring...

Tanzer stood up and stretched his legs a bit. He yawned, and looked out over the sea for a moment. It was beautiful and peaceful in the early morning sky. The calm, soft lapping of the waves at the shore made him smile. He grabbed his backpack, and decided if his Dad wasn't coming to Cape Doom, he'd just go to him. The young alien was merely 8 years old, still very young for his race. He wore a simple yellow tshirt, with red pants, and black sneakers. Feathery hair adorned his head, which usually came down into his eyes, until he put on his baseball cap. Ubergonzo, his Uncle, had given him these clothes as that was what they had observed all the other races wearing when they first came back to Earth to check up on his Dad.

Yawning yet again, he made his way down the wooded path towards the road again. He was quite short, coming only perhaps to Gonzo's waist when he stood at full height, his nose was normally hooked like his Fathers. Most other noses of his people were twisted in such strange shapes, loop-de-loops, and squared, as well as very twisted and contorted shapes. But his was a nice, simple hook. He stratched it again, and kept walking down the road, hoping to see a car or another bus. He had no money, so all he had to rely on was the caring of others.

------------------------------------

"When are we going to get there, Kermit?" Gonzo asked, keeping his eyes peeled on the road. Kermit, Clifford, Dr. Teeth, Fozzie, and Gonzo all took turns driving the bus. They drove almost non-stop.

"For the last time, I don't know, Gonzo! Check the map!" Kermit yelled, gripping the steering wheel tightly. His poor flippers were aching, and he wished they could have found a hotel or something to sleep in. Gonzo had elected to take night driving so everyone could sleep while he drove. He didn't want to stop for anything, except for food and when nature called. Something in his heart told him he couldn't stop.

"You blue weirdo, you're going to kill us if you keep this up!" Miss Piggy retorted loudly at Gonzo. She was a sight for sore eyes. Her hair was a mess, and she was wearing next to no makeup. She has woken up after she slid out of the bus seat when Kermit hit a pothole on the road.

"Come on, greenstuff. I'll take over." Dr. Teeth offered, when he noticed Kermit was about to hit yet another pothole in the road. Kermit slowly pulled over, and got out of the driver's seat, and shook his head. "Right...let's get this going again!" He stated easily, as he sat down and started the bus up again.

"Next stop, FOOD!" Rizzo yelled, as he saw the restaurants coming up on the road. "Yes, pancakes, waffles, soup, salad....yummy!"

"How can you think about food, Rizzo?" Gonzo asked incredously, as he stared at his buddy.

"I'm starving, Gonzo!" He snapped, then he did a double take. "Waitaminute! Waitaminute!!" Rizzo paused for a moment, and got a worried expression on his face. "When was the last time you ate, Gonzo?"

Gonzo paused for a moment. He really had to remember the last time he ate was...about three days ago. "Three days ago. I had a sardine and peanut butter sandwich on rye bread, and garlic-trout ice cream."

Rizzo shuddered at the thought of that food, but he still worried for his friend. "You've not eaten in three days? That's not healthy you know. Come on, you're eating something when we stop." Rizzo stood up as the bus pulled to a stop, and he tugged on Gonzo's pantsleg.

"Rizzo...I'm just not hungry! We've...we've gotta get going to Cape Doom!" Gonzo turned away from Rizzo and started to walk towards the bus again. Rizzo pulled him down close to him, and slapped his face.

"Come on, Gonz!! Snap out of this one-track train you're on!! They're bound to stay if they do come! You yourself should know that!!" Rizzo glared at him, then smiled softly. "Let's at least get something to eat, get something in you. Then we'll get right back on the road, right guys?"

"Yeah...right, get going again." Everyone seemed to murmur, as they filed into the restraurant slowly.

Rizzo stopped for a moment, pointing up to the sign on the outer wall. "Nessa's Home Cookin'....sounds nice dosn't it, Gonzo?" He mused, looking back at Gonzo for a response. All he got was an image of his friend's back, as he stared out towards the direction of the highway. "Let's just go in Gonzo.." Rizzo sighed.

"Please don't leave just yet, guys. I'm coming!" Gonzo said plaintively to the rolling highway, he wondered if his pleading would work. He just hoped they were gone yet.

--------------------------------------------

"...this...is really hard." Tanzer sat down underneath a small tree, and sighed. He was out of water, and almost out of food packets. Gonzo was to have come nearly two weeks ago. Ubergonzo stayed with him for a week, but after that they had to leave him behind. Looking up he saw a highway sign.

"Nessa's Home Cookin' - 3 miles."

"That shouldn't be too bad. Maybe if I ask nicely they'll let me have something! Uncle taught me that manners go far on this planet." Tanzer nodded to himself, and picked up his pack, walking to where the arrow pointed; towards Nessa's.

Liking the story so far... So, they're all going to meet up at Ness's? Probably not, would make for too short a story, but then again it's your story Sara. I'm really liking the expressions of concern playing across between Gonzo and Rizzo... And how Tanzor's trying to get to his foster father.

The sandwich Gonzo ate, another X-Muppets crossover reference?
And you might want to change Gonzo's line when they're outside Ness's to say "he wishes they weren't gone" instead.
Also... Noticed your sigline's gone.

Really great stuff so far, hope for more soon.

"You've hardly touched ya food, Gonz." Rizzo stated the quite obvious, as Gonzo's sardine sandwich sat relatively untouched. His mind was miles away, and his stomach was unheard by his mind.

"Why did they just leave 'Cape Doom' on the postcard? It had to mean something!" Gonzo stated to Rizzo, while staring out the window down the road. "We've gotta get going! Are you guys done yet?" He spun around in the seat, and stared at his friends.

Scooter stopped in mid-bite, and frowned softly. Kermit set his spoon down, and scrunched his face up a bit. "Gonzo...you need to calm down. They're your family, they arn't just going to leave without seeing you. I know they'll wait for you."

"...I...I know that, but a huge spaceship is going to be seen soon enough! They might have only had time to stay for awhile. What if they did leave! We've gotta get going, now!" He stared at Kermit, his expression downfallen, and sad.

"Let's just eat and get back on the road, so the weirdo will shut up!" Piggy said angrily, as she quickly finished her sandwich, and stood up. She grabbed her bag of chips and started to walk out to the bus. Fozzie, Scooter, Clifford, and the others followed Miss Piggy outside. Many of them ended up getting their meals to go, so they wouldn't have to listen to Gonzo worrying so much. Kermit stayed at the table, and was finishing up his fly soup, while watching Gonzo.

"Gonzo?" He asked softly, looking at his face. It was etched with worry he saw.

"...what, Kermit?" Gonzo asked back, closing his eyes for a moment. Gonzo hadn't slept in the 5 days they'd been on the road.

"It's more then your family isn't it?"

"I don't know. It's different then the first time they said they'd come...something...here." He tapped his chest gently, looking back at his best friend. "Something's telling me it's more then my family, Kermit."

Gonzo paused, and turned around completely in the seat to face Kermit. It was just him, Kermit and Rizzo still in the restraurant now. Everyone else was out on the bus, ready to go. "Has...has your soul ever ached?"

"My...soul?" Kermit countered, a puzzled expression coming around the frog's face. "I'm not sure."

"I can't explain it too well, it's like my soul is aching. The farther away I was from Cape Doom, after I found out what they were saying...the more my...soul ached. Something's pulling me there again, and I want to end this pain inside. I want to know what's happening."

Kermit paused for a second, watching Gonzo. The blue weirdoes face was etched with concern and worry. He had turned 30 about a month ago, he remembered the party well. Gonzo looked like he was 50 now, the worry was causing a great deal of pain on him, and he could see it clear as the moon on the swamp in the summer evenings. Ever since that party, Gonzo had acted weird. More subuded, actually. Calmer, taking less risks. He was settling down a bit, and to Kermit....that was very strange and unusual. He nodded to himself softly, and just tipped the bowl up to his mouth and drank the last of it in two gulps.

"Let's go pay and get on the road again, Gonzo." Kermit said with a bright smile on his face.

"Thanks, Kermit." Gonzo said gently, as the three of them walked out to the bus. Kermit went ahead of Rizzo and Gonzo as they stood outside the restraurant for a moment.

"Your soul...ached?" Rizzo asked, looking up at Gonzo.

"Yeah. It's the only way I can explain it." He said, looking down the road for a moment.

"I'm your friend, ain't I?"

"Well, of course your my friend." He looked down at the small rat, with a smile on his face.

"Should'a told me ya soul was achin'. We could'a talked about it." Rizzo said quietly, pushing a small rock with his foot as they started walking towards the bus.

"I wasn't sure how you'd take it."

"I just don't like to see you so outta shape, that's all..I mean, we're friends and stuff. We tell each other this stuff all the time." Rizzo paused, and looked up at Gonzo as they boarded the bus. "You know I miss my family, right?"

"You miss your family?" Gonzo asked, looking down at his friend. "I thought most of the rats were your family!"

"They are...but then again, they really arn't. They ain't my Mom, or my Dad. They're mostly just sisters, brothers and my cousins." The little rat looked down for a second, and took his seat beside Gonzo on the bus. "I've not seen my parents in a long time."

Gonzo wrapped an arm around his friend as they took off in the bus once more, heading again towards Cape Doom.

The bus pulled away from the restarurant and headed down the highway. Gonzo kept his eyes focused on the road ahead, he could not wait to get to Cape Doom. Rizzo tapped Gonzo on the shoulder, and looked him over for a moment.

"What Rizzo?" The werido asked, when Rizzo didn't say a word after a few moments.

"You said your soul ached. What did you mean, your soul ached?" Rizzo crossed his arms and tilted his head a second. "Coulda been heartburn you know."

"It wasn't heartburn! It...was heartache." Gonzo looked at his little rat friend, and he hugged him gently. "Something wonderful is going to happen, I can feel it. I...I just don't know yet, but I can't wait!"

Gonzo stood up in the seat, and shouted to Clifford who was driving at the time. "How long till we get to Cape Doom, Clifford!?"

"Probably....another 30 minutes or so! We're not that far off, so just why don't you sit down or something?" He yelled back to him.

"We're almost there, blue dude. Just chill yourself." Floyd stated, looking at Gonzo from across the seat. Janice yawned, and snuggled onto Floyd's shoulder. It was nearly 8 at night then.

"Like...rully...some of us are like...trying to sleep here..." She said sleepily between yawns.

"Heh..sorry guys." Gonzo watched the street lights as they dotted the highway. The individual lights became a softened blur as the blue weirdoe's head slowly slumped down onto his chest, into sleep.

-------------------------------------

Tanzer finally came to Nessa's and stopped at in front of the doors. The lights were on, yet no one was inside. The place had been closed up for awhile now for the night. He sat on the pavement in front of the door and sighed. Tracing a circle in the light sand on the ground, he started to cry.

"...D-Daddy..." He said, his voice choked and muffled by his tears. Looking up into the night sky, he sniffled loudly. "I should have waited!!" The little gonzoid yelled out, stamping the ground for a moment. Then he tripped over a rock, and fell down onto the ground. He landed on his elbow and grabbed it suddenly. "OOW!! Oowiee..."

He had a huge scrape on his elbow now, and he grabbed it quickly. It was hurting powerfully, but then again almost all scrapes do to a child that young. All he could figure out to do was to keep going in the only direction he knew:

Away from Cape Doom.

------------------------------------

"We're HERE!" Gonzo yelled happily, as he bounded off the bus in a leap. He landed feet first into the sandy beach, and he walked around for a moment. "Maybe the ships' invisible or something?"

He started to walk over to the beach, going slowly so he wouldn't run into the ship. Frowning, he picked up a rock, and hurled it away from him. It hit sand. Walking away from the bus even more, he did it again. Again, nothing.

"No...no they left..." He closed his eyes, standing on the beach. Rizzo walked over to him, and just stood by him for a moment.

"What's this?" Kermit asked himself, as he saw a small blanket laying in a small cave, with a few packets of paper laying underneath it. "Hey, Gonzo!"

"...." Gonzo turned around to see Kermit holding a small dark red blanket in his arms, and the paper packets in his hands. He walked over and glanced at them. "It's just some old blanket, and some trash..."

"No, Gonzo. I don't think this is. This blanket feels new, and these papers had something in them. Looks like food of some sort." Kermit turned the blanket over, and then handed it to Gonzo. "I really think this means something. What do you think?"

Gonzo held the small deep red blanket in his hands. The material was silky and smooth, it was very thin and lightweight, yet it plush feeling, and was not any type of fabric he'd ever seen in his lifetime. This wasn't of Earth, and he realized that quickly.

"Found something else!" Kermit shouted, as he was inside the small cave now. "Hey...it's a letter! And...it's addressed to you, Gonzo."

"Read it, Kermit. W-Would you?" Gonzo asked, his voice slightly shaking. Something felt very strange to him just then.

"Right." Kermit started to read the letter to him. "It's says: "Dear Little Brother, this young boy's name is Tanzer. He's asked for you to his--" Kermit paused for a second, and looked over at Gonzo. He was still as stone, his eyes locked on the ground. He continued for a moment more in the letter. "--his Father. He really looks up to you, and he thinks you're quite the cool cat. He loves the daring, and the dangrous."

"...oh no...." Gonzo's face paled to a sky blue, as he stared at the blanket and further into the cave. "...I...a boy? And me a...a Father?"

".....that's gotta be one long distance relationship for that to work out...." Rizzo mumbled to himself, as he watched this odd scene in worry for his friend.

But the reaction once they got to Cape Doom, with Kermit reading the letter... That was probably some of the best right there. And I hope someone finds little Tanzor soon, they need to bandage that nasty scrape on his elbow.

Hope for more when you can.

Sorry I didn't post earlier... CrazedGonzoFa, you should check out Sara's seminol work... A collection of seven stories known as Sadie's Stories.
In order...
The Bonds Of Family.
Forgotten Wishes.
Remembering The Good Times We've Had.
The Search For Sadie.
Demon's Delight.
Is That A Song There?
A Grand Adventure In Life.

And of course, there's Love Is Neverending, a separate story done quite well. Hope this plug works... And maybe we'll get some more of this one soon.

Ooh, now the story's getting intense! Gonzo is going to have to try and find Tanzer and Tanzer's getting further away from him and oh gosh! It's good stuff Sara, I really like it! I hope you get up at least one more chapter before I'm away from here tomorrow. No pressure or anything though. :)

Short chapter, sorry guys. My knee is absolutely KILLING me...

~*~

His knees hit the sand, and he held the blanket in his hands, as Kermit finished up the letter quietly. Eyes closed tightly, he gripped the small deep red blanket, running his fingers over the smooth material.

"...this is just like what Nanny found me in..." He murmured to himself.

"He's probably okay, Gonzo. He dosn't sound like he's...a baby like you were." Kermit said gently, as he kneeled down beside the blue weirdo. Gonzo nodded softly, and stood up.

"We've gotta find Tanzer guys. Who knows what's happened to him!?" He started back towards the bus, the blanket clenched in his hands.

"Gonzo, come on...calm down. Tanzer should be alright..." Scooter offered, looking worried for his friend. "Let's look for any clues as to which direction he went.."

The gang started looking around for clues, as Gonzo clambered up to the top of the bus, looking from the higher vantage point.

"Tanzer...why didn't you stay behind?" Gonzo said softly, as the wind whipped around them.

The few footprints left in the sand, where Tanzer had walked....were whipped away by the flowing sands.

-----------------------------------------------

The little boy was bluer then ever. It was cold, dark, and so very scary. He had cried till he could not cry anymore, and even then he felt like breaking down. Clutching his small pack, he slowly walked along the road, with a slowing pace. He saw a bus stop, and sat down on the cold, hard ground. Burying his face into his arms, he eventually went to sleep; his long, soft feathery hair ruffling in the gentle winds.

----------------------------------------------

"Come on blue dude! We've gotta get going, if we're gonna find your little boy!" Floyd yelled up to Gonzo, who stayed seated on the bus, keeping his eyes peeled to the rocks in front of the highway.

"...He's a young boy. How could I have been so stupid!? I should have noticed something was different about myself...it makes sense. Women and men...my...people. We get prepared for parenthood." He was thinking, hard and deep. He snapped his head up, his eyes brightened once more.

"HE'S GOING TOWARDS MANHATTAN!!" Gonzo yelled at the top of his lungs, as he dropped himself off of the bus, sliding into one of the open windows.

Floyd, Kermit, and Scooter; the few who were still outside of the bus, darted inside as quick as possible. Kermit noticed that Gonzo looked positively wild-eyed, as he tried his hardest to get Clifford to go ahead and start the bus up.

"MAN! Gonzo!! Calm down! We're getting there, just let the guys get back on the bus!" Clifford was yelling loudly at Gonzo, who kept trying to take the wheel from Clifford. The bus was doing nothing, as it wasn't even cranked up yet, luckily, but it was still worriesome for everyone.

The three hurried on, and it took Animal to get a beastly grip on the blue weirdo to get him to calm down somewhat. Kermit walked back and sat in front of Gonzo, as Clifford was heading out on the highway once more, going the way they came.

"What's gotten into you now Gonzo?" Kermit asked, frowning.

"I can feel something Kermit." Gonzo stated.

"Hoo boy." Rizzo retorted, as he sighed softly, watching his friend. "I know you're his father an' all. But you've not even seen tha' kid yet, Gonz! How can you feel something?"

"I...I don't know. I can't explain it!" He said, getting agitated, as he kept his eyes on the sides of the road, watching for anything that could indicate Tanzer's presence.

"Well, try weirdo!" Miss Piggy yelled, her blue eyes flashing with anger at him.

"....my heart's been breaking." Gonzo said softly, as the bus rolled to a slow stop in front of something.

"....my heart's been breaking." Gonzo said softly, as the bus rolled to a slow stop in front of something.
Oh mine too, Gonzo!

WHAT DID IT STOP IN FRONT OF! OH, dang you, Renee, dang you and your perfect cliffhanger! ARGH, you TORTURESOME... Ugh! I hate it when I get a dose of my own medicine! And yet I love it, too. Very confusing.

A lovely, heartfelt chapter, short but sweet and heartwrenching. I love how Gonzo's started to figure out why he's been feeling different, and how he can feel something about Tanzer, without even meeting him...

BUT WHAT DID THEY STOP IN FRONT OF! Oh please don't be cruel and have it turn out to be something totally inconsequential, like... a fire hydrant or something...

MORE PLEASE!

(And I understand about the knee, and hope it feels better soon. I'm just being my usual impatient self. Ah, it's good to be nagging again...)

Tanzer looked up, and saw something bright behind him. It was headlights, softened from the fog and mist that had arisen from the sea. His poor body was exhausted, so he closed his eyes and curled back up. The packs straps ruffled in the wind, the sign creaking.

The vehicle rolled to a slow stop about 20 feet from the bus sign, and it's brakes hissed loudly. The little boy looked upwards at the noise, his facial fur matted with his tears. It was a large, brightly colored bus; loud music emenated from within from a huge stereo system. Someone was yelling inside over the music.

-------------------------------------------

"STOP! STOP THE BUS!!" Gonzo was screaming, as he clambered over the seats. He saw the small blue lump, and knew what or who it was.

"I'm STOPPING Gonzo! Calm yourself down!" Clifford yelled out, as the bus rolled to an unsteady stop.

Gonzo nearly ripped the door lever off, as he slammed the double doors open. He leapt out of the bus, and started to walk to where the little blue alien was. He calmed himself down a million marks as he got closer.

"Tanzer?" His voice was a mere whisper, as he kneeled down beside the small boy. Reaching out his hand, he gently stroked the boy's head, a soft smile crossing his face. "Are you okay?"

Tanzer looked up, his eyes slightly reddened; and he coughed softly, nodding. Gonzo reached forward and picked up the small boy in his arms, hugging him tightly.

"Tanzer! Oh...you're okay!" He turned back towards the bus, a huge smile on his face. "Tanzer's alright guys!"

"D-Daddy...you didn't come..." The little boy's voice was a small murmur, to Gonzo's ear. "...you missed them..."

"I know I did. And I'm so sorry! I never knew you were coming. My brother...he never told me about this and...and I shouldn't have waited. I should have realized something was different." Gonzo hugged Tanzer, as he walked onto the bus with the little boy in his arms.

A chorus of hello's and hugs came for Tanzer as Gonzo got onto the bus.

"Hey there, little dude!"

"Great another weirdo....I mean, hi there sweetie!"

"We're so happy to finally meet you, little fellow!"

"Glad to have you in the crew, little man!"

"Are we there yet? Oh hey! It's the little blue dude!"

The sweet words settled down as Gonzo and Tanzer settled down in the bus seat. Rizzo smiled as he sat in the seat across the aisle from them. Tanzer leaned over and settled his head on Gonzo's chest, listening softly to his Father's heartbeat. As the bus rolled down the long road back to Manhattan, everyone settled down for sleep. Tanzer was asleep, with Gonzo's arms around him. The little alien snored softly, as the waning moonlight poured inside the bus.

"This feels familiar, very familiar, Almost unreal, yet, it's too soon to feel yet. Close to my soul, and yet so close to me. We're going to go back there someday. Sun rises, night falls, sometimes the sky calls. Is that a song there, and do we belong there? I've never been there, but you know the way. We're going to go back there someday. Come and go with me, it's more fun to share, We'll both be completely at home in midair.
We're flyin', not walkin', on featherless wings. We can hold onto young like invisible strings.

There's not a word yet for old family who've just met. Part heaven, part space, or have you found your place? We can just visit, but we plan to stay. We're going to go back there someday. We're going to go back there someday."

Gonzo was singing softly, to Tanzer as he slept in his arms. Tanzer yawned, and curled up tighter against Gonzo's chest, and he smiled.

"I must send them a postcard, thanking them for him..." He murmured to himself, as the bus chugged along in the dark night.

Oh! Gonzo and Tanzer... OH, my heart is wrenched... Tanzer listening to Gonzo's heartbeat- I'm a real sucker for heart beats, you'll see that in my story, when I get there, you'll see it a lot- And the slightly changed words to "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday"... (Pst, one minor thing, not sure if you meant the change or not, but in the original it's "we can hold on to love like invisible strings." Not sure if you meant to put "young" or if it's from the confusion in the subtitles on one of the dvd's...) And Gonzo wanting to thank his family for Tanzer. Oh, it's so sweet!!!!

Is there more? Please tell me there's more. I don't feel like the story's over yet. Is there more? Please say there's more. MORE PLEASE!

Yes. There will be more. Let me put it this way...

Have anyone ever watched the TV show House? Well...I'm kinda like House right now, I found out in another visit to the Doc. (Not the one who screwed up the you-know-what which caused that horrible fiasco before...X_X) But another Doc, who is taking care of my knee, that somehow I stretched a tendon, and it's hurting VERY BADLY now...so...well, I got my prescription for Vicodin finally. I've been reading a couple of your stories, and I have to say that I simply love the emotions and writing style of them. And I also want to say that this has to be my favorite of the ones I've read so far, but I think you're a really great writer.

Now I want even more than ever to write my own Muppet fic. I'm already in the work of one, but I'm in the mood to do another one, most likely a one-shot, but with more of that emotional feel similar to the kind in this story or in a more romantic way. Either way, I'm making Morgan a girl in it! :D 'Cause I'm wacky that way.

Anyways, I'm rambling now, so best I stop before I end up asking you about my avvy--! Dangit! :concern: Ah well. Anyways, I love your stories, and I suggest you keep up the good work. :zany:

No no, I didn't mean it was boring; I meant it would have been boring if you had left it as is, but since you have it in mind to write more...
It sounds to me as if you're trying too hard. As tempting as it sounds, it is very dificult, and unwise, to try and force ideas. My advice, and personal experience, is to try and forget about. (And I can hear all the readers groaning) Try to get involved in something else, and I'm sure an idea will hit when you least expect it.
In the meantime, I'll try and think of suggestions, and I'm sure everyone else will be happy to do the same!

Sure... No probs Sara. No Muppety liking friends near you? That's weird, there's a bunch of members here who list S.C. in their location field in their profiles. Oh well.

If you haven't yet, check out MuppetWriter's "The Spectacular" thread where he's posted his two Spider-Man/Muppet crossovers with some added interviews, short stories, and sneak peaks of the third crossover tale.

Oh, and before I forget, if you haven't voted for Muppet president yet, please vote for Piggy. It's your choice and we'll respect your decision no matter which of the three you vote for... But we hope to earn your endorsement, especially since Scooter might be able to tell you more about Piggy's presidential platform. He should, he's managing her campaign with Catherine as her running mate. Contact Aunt Ru, she'll have all the info so you can make an informed decision.

Again, hugs Sara.
