Mokey acts like she has a crush on boober look she sticks up for him all the time. She thinks he's so brave and things and she always hugs on him. Or are they just good freinds. What would there baby's look like . EEEW YUCK!

I dunno... Mokey kind of does that to everybody.
Now, how about Gobo and Red? :D That idea seemed to have been pretty much ditched after the first season.
And whatever happened to Lou, anyway? Mokey mentioned her name in "Playing Till It Hurts", and she appeared in the background in a few episodes -- she even had a line in "Manny's Land of Carpets" and "Fraggle Wars", although her voice was completely different than it was in "We Love You, Wembley".
And how could I forget Boober and Tosh?
Food for thought. Ciao,

Who is sidebottum? Is he one of the fraggles? I downloaded a song called "A guy like me" on a music program of ours, and it says the song is sung by Boober and sidebottum. Who is he? I wish I could see more Fraggle episodes! I have only seen two episodes, and I love the show!

Yo Didymus, Sidebottom is that part of Boober which LOVES fun, mayhem, merriment, fetstivity, jokes---pretty much all the stuff Boober's "against".
He comes "out" of Boober (literally) in a few episodes. :)

I dunno if its really fair to say any Fraggle "likes" another Fraggle as more than a mutual love that all the Fraggles share. I mean even when Wembley makes a little girlfriend in "We Love You, Wembley," they still just like eachother in that Fraggle love. And in anycase the truth is...Everyone Loves Cantus. (ok throw tomatos whenever your ready).
In addition, Sidebottom is very awesome..both the Fraggle and the poster :) Fun most definitely is Here to Stay.

There is only 5 main Fraggles, so sadly one gets left out(My fave Wembley) but...it would stand to reason Gobo and Red, and Boober and Mokey if 'couples' were ever to happen.

Wembley did find someone...her name was Lou Fraggle, and she was his sweetheart in episode 13, "We Love You Wembley." She was very cool.
Why can't they help me for a change?! :D

Not necessarily...there are lots of people (me included) who wouldn't quite agree with that. ;)

What people aren't realizing is that Cantus is the one the ladies want! If he wanted to, he'd just ride through the Rock, play his pipe a bit, and every female fraggle would be following him. So no Boober and Mokey, no Red and Gobo...just All chicks and Cantus.
No No, Let Me be Your Song baby...

Is cantus a fraggle he is quite large.
Cantus Rock
09-08-2002, 11:27 PM
Yes Cantus is very much a Fraggle. He's not really so large as he is tall, or at least taller than the other Fraggles. I think he is just a tad taller than Mokey. This is because the pantomime puppets are always a bit taller, being they have longer, more realistic arms. This is true in any Muppet performance (Cookie Monster is taller than the other hand puppets on Sesame Street, Rowlf is taller than Kermit, etc.).

No...you're a Byron. Mokey is a pantamime puppet. :D hehe. Don't worry, Janice is still a good ol' hand puppet, enjoy her until the Mokey shock sinks in...
This is why my friend, Cantus must be with Mokey. They must spawn pantamime Fraggle children to keep the race alive. Kinda like "Like Water for Chocolate"....okay, so its nothing like it...nevermind...

what are you guys talking about what auction
WemblinKate
09-11-2002, 10:14 PM
How do you guys always succeed in getting off topic by the time I get the chance to reply?
ANYWAYS
My solution is quite simple. First of all, Gobo and Red for sure. No doubt in my mind since there IS a LOT of Proof! Red kisses Gobo in Let the River Run, Gobo kisses Red in Mirror Mirror, the entire episode of Catch the Tail By The Tiger, I Want To Be You, and at the end of Mokey's Funeral when they go on the boat, you can see Red and Gobo sitting together, arms around each other. Who needs more?!
Don't try to convince me otherwise, because Gobo and Red just should be together, in my mind.
Ok, for Boober, the Mokey thing might work, the only problem is Mokey is a little too motherly to Boober so it makes the relationship a little wierd. I almost think a new character should be introduced for Mokey. And Boober, well, I'd say the best bet is Tosh, just cuz she's so dang cute.
Lastly, there's Wembley. Quite frankly I always leave him open because I'm secretly in love with him. But we don't talk about that.
There's my 2 cents. Yet again, school calls.

Sorry, but that don't work for me. ;)
If any fraggles "got together", it would be MOKEY and Gobo, not Red. Why? Cause there IS a LOT of proof! :D
In "Mokey's Funeral", Gobo says with devastation, "I never got to tell her...so many things..." , Mokey shows great admiration of Gobo in several episodes in a way she doesn't speak of the others, they playfully "flirt" with each other in "New Trash Heap In Town", and there are the famous Gobo and Mokey salt and pepper shakers in the Gorgs' castle. Besides, one of my best friends I grew up with was a Red who brought a Gobo chemistry of me to my relationship with her, and we could SOOOOOOO never be ANYthing more than friends! Just ask Tara, she'll vouch for this, the annoying/competitive aspects are too much! Lol!
:p
But we know that the fraggles will never get together in the series (since it's over now, hello), so that leaves Mokey open for me.
:D

Oh christ people wake up and see the Guiding Light (on NBC!). If anything, Cantus would roll through the rock on horseback. Wind would be blowing, and he'd wearing an open white buttondown shirt. He'd be the muppet Fabio so to speak. Then he'd lead all the female Fraggles, single file behind him like the pipe-pipper, back to his home, where magic would ensue. BANG!

What's a pantamime puppet? I have to start visiting these Fraggle threads more often.
Jeffrey Gray

A "pantomime" puppet is the kind of puppet which has two gloves that a puppeteer can stick their hands and arms into and actually operate the hands and arms. (Of course, the puppeteer usually only operates the right arm, another person operating the left arm...) They are also known as "live-hand" puppets.
Crazy Harry
09-21-2002, 10:50 PM
Is there some unwritten law that says characters with live-hands have to be taller than those with rod-arms (or whatever they're called)?
Janice & Mokey's Man
09-21-2002, 11:02 PM
I dunno, the Swedish Chef didn't seem taller than some other TMS characters (like Sam, for instance), and actually Ernie is shorter than Bert.

Cantus Rock
09-22-2002, 12:14 AM
Although there is no unwritten law about it, pant. puppets are usually taller. The reason is, being the reach of the puppeteer is extended with the longer arm, the body of the puppet must be porportioned. If it was the same size as rod puppets, the arms would be disporportionate to the body, and unless it was supposed to be a totally unrealistic character, it would looks wrong.
The Swedish Chef is taller technically. I believe they gave a higher lift to the other puppets when they had the Chef and another character in the same scene, or they lowered the Chef.
Ernie I know for a fact was intentionally lowered on SS. That is apparent on the Biography Close-Up with the footage of Jim and Frank doing a scene.

Livening up this old discussion...
Mokey HAS a boyfriend named Garloo. He's a ventriloquist dummy. She mentions him in Fraggles Look For Jobs.
And yep, Cantus was in the animated series. He was horrible. Horribly drawn, and his voice sounds like some punk did him.

This can get pretty annoying...so what if Mokey hugs Boober? I hug my male friends, that doesn't mean I am automatically in love with them. Not all girls and guys who are nice to each other have to necessarily be a couple? Can't they just be friends?'

Dude... you seriously need some psycho-therapy. And anyhow, I have looked into this before, and Cantus is actually not a Fraggle. He may be a close cousin though, but that's speculative. Official sources have him labelled as Cantus the Sage, and it doesn't go any further than that. Similar to how Gonzo used to be - pre MFS; he's just "Gonzo the Great". 'Nuff said.
As for Fraggles pairing off... well as long as Red is still available, I'm happy :D
But whatever was being said about not knowing how Fraggles reproduce, I don't see how that would limit the possibility of a love interest (unless you're a die-hard Sigmund Freudian - in which case, sex influences every part of your being). But if I really had to pick, somehow I think it would actually be Mokey who wouldn't find someone, at least within the classic five. It's Gobo & Red, Boober & Tosh, personally I think Wembley & Lou are still off seeing each other because if not, the heartache would've affected Wembley tremendously and it would've had to come into play in a later episode. As for why I don't think Mokey would wind up with someone, frankly I just don't see any other character who could keep up with her. Half of the time, Mokey is thinking on a completely different plane of existence from the rest of the Fraggles (with the meditation, asking the why's about the universe, etc), and I think she'd need someone who could communicate with her on that level. From what I've seen in the show, I can't think of anyone who could fit that role.
