Have you read the Muppet Newsflash about the decision HIT is making??? If you haven't yet, go on over to http://muppetnewsflash.blogspot.com

Everyone needs to get this Season 1 set to show those idiots at HIT that of course Season 2 would sell. I think the show gets better as it goes on. I would definitely shell out any amount of money for season 2 but of course, as a fraggle lover, i'd buy all the seasons no questions. and i'm sure most of you would do the same too. I've bought my set...i know you guys have too...how can we get more people to buy?

bring on season 2

Letters and campaigning showed HIT there was a demand for season 1. So they made it. But the way to show HIT there is a demand for season 2 is with sales. If all the people who wrote HIT, signed petitions, and made phone calls go out and puts their money where their mouth is, then season 2 will come. But if the sales for season 1 tank, then HIT will not consider investing in a second season (it would just be bad business to pump money into something that won't sell).

It is too early to know for sure if season 1 was a success or not (HIT is still feeling this out). It has only been a week! In order for HIT to know that they made the right decisions for season 1 (and that all the people who demanded season sets were serious), they need to see that people are buying it. We all need to go and buy season 1, get our friends to buy it; give it to friends as a give; just get sales as high as possible! If season 1 tanks (which is unlikely, but still possible), it will take a lot more than the fans could ever provide in order to convince HIT to make a season 2. So let's not have season 2 do anywhere near bad.

HIT says that they are considering season 2, but they probably won't have an answer for what their plan for the series will be until sometime early next year (at the earliest). They took a big risk with season 1, if we show them it was the right choice then season 2 will not be far behind. But as of right now, no decision has been made to move on with the series yet (neither has a decision to not move on).

Well...there are more Fraggle fans in America alone than we may realize. It was kind of a cult classic. I think maybe even more so or equal to the Muppet Show. I would think that season one sales would be strong enough to have a season 2 release and so on. As long as the word gets out there that these beauties are available.

They should distribute in the UK too. FR was a MAJOR cult classic, part of the whole 80's kidz era. It would sell like proverbial hotcakes over here.

I really don't see why they woulden't ... I mean where I went they only had one Season One left and it was ten in the morning on the day it was released. I'm definantly going to give a call to HIT. I suggest everybody else who wants season two do the same just in case.

I bought mine the other day @ Best Buy, the sticker says its $37 but it was on sale for $29, and plus I ONLY got it at Best Buy becouse of the cd-rom game, ok... lol, and for the price too! :D there wasn't alot of copys left. I'd say about 8 left if that. :) But I'm enjoying my set I'm JUST gettin the 1st disc done. :zany:

Yup. I don't see why they haven't given it a R2 release yet. =/

Aniwho, I still have yet to pick up mine, but it's still a high priority. (I'm putting aside getting the bootleg F-Zero: GP Legend DVDs to get this beauty!)

I never signed the petition, but I have bought every FR disc out there (except the single release that was put out the same time as FR S1 was. i don't have that much money!)
I think that people who haven't signed it, like me, will buy it once they find out about it. There was pretty much no advertising for it. But when word gets around, I think copies will be selling.
And I seriously hope that everyone who signed will put their money where their mouth is, because I would love future seasons!

Well, all I know is that I'm a strong supporter of the FR Season boxed-sets. I pre-ordered my Season 1 boxed-set on Amazon as soon as I heard the great news this past June and even spread the news to a few online friends who grew up with the show like me. HIT, please keep 'em coming! I'd buy the other sets, in a heartbeat.

I'm so glad Season 1 has stayed in the Top 50 at Amazon so far, but I think it would have debuted and stayed higher if it wasn't released right when Hurricane Katrina hit; because so many people sent donations to help the victims when they may have been saving the money for other things, such as DVDs...which is WONDERFUL and I of course wouldn't discourage that. I just mean that a few people I know were gonna buy TMS or FR, but held off and used that money instead to send to relief efforts...so that coulda been the result of more "lost sales" out there (but you couldn't find a better "excuse").

But ya know, that's a very "Fraggle Rock" thing to do...everyone coming together to help for the good of those in need. Beautiful...

I think it'll definitely say within the top 70 or 80 the next 2 months (I hope), and pick up higher again before and after Christmas (again, I hope).

i agree with what the last poster said there's alot going on right now and i'm sure most people at the moment dont have the time or money to spend on fraggle rock.I really hope hit gives fraggle rock time to sell well because if it were'nt for this site i problably would have never known about any of the fraggle rock releases. And i know their are alot of other fraggle fans who are unaware of the dvds . :smirk:

I do hope that HIT gets our pleading. I love Fraggles, and I couldn't bear just having season one, because season two has the episodes I remember the most!

My brother would have loved this... He was a big Fraggle fan, and I'm sure he would have bought a copy for himself. Or I would have bought him a copy for Christmas this year had he lived.

I've done my part and I'm spreading the word around to all the friends who are old enough to remember the Fraggles.

In my opinion, I am grateful that HIT Entertainment is actually getting Fraggle Rock onto DVD. I wonder, if they didn't release season 2, or 3,4, and 5 for that matter, how many single disks would we have to buy in order to have the entire series? Boy oh boy, we would be here forever! But now, I am off to purchase Fraggle Rock Season 1.

I hadn't been able to get a set for myself until last night. I didn't have the funds until earlier this week, but my local Wal*Mart didn't have it, Walmart.com didn't have it, then I FINALLY found it on Amazon through a link from the MC home page.

Sheesh, what has a guy gotta do to get himself some Fraggley goodness? :smirk: Anyhow, I'm sure they'll put out a second set pretty soon, Fraggle Rock is really big right now, it wouldn't be the best decision on their part to not go through with it.

Later!
:)

I got an e-mail back today from someone named Kris. Here's what I was told:

Thank you for contacting us. Currently, we do not have information on a Season 2 set at this time.

Look for the next release Down In Fraggle Rock in January 2006. More information on this title will be available in December.

Thank you for your interest in HIT Entertainment.
I'm sure someone (like GelflingWaldo!) could probably get a more definitive answer.

I tried! :)

Anybody hear anything new about a Season 2 Fraggle Rock DVD release?

^-^;

Is anyone else getting really really anxious over whether or not HIT decides to make a Season 2 boxed set?

Fozzie Bear
11-03-2005, 09:31 AM
I'm anxious to find out. I emailed them and asked, they said they weren't sure, and I emailed back and said it was a bad idea NOT to do it. I mean, why not?! Why give us S1 and then not the rest?! It's unfair. I refuse to buy any of the 3 episode dvd's. Season sets or I ain't buying. That was my email to them a LONG time ago. Do the season sets, and when those sell out, go to the 3 episode DVDs THEN.

I think most of us want box sets myself included. I sent them an email weeks ago and am still waiting for a responce. How long does it usually take them to respond? I mean come on somebody over there has to know something.

Fozzie Bear

They may be keeping the e-mails and not responding as a means of collecting a necessity of the fans that WE WANT THESE SEASON SETS DVDS!

rumtar_10165
11-06-2005, 05:10 PM
I think that we need to post another list by us fans of the show asking them to please give us a street date, or to continue with the dvd sets.

Fozzie Bear
11-08-2005, 06:12 AM
No, we don't need another list on the same topic...that's one of the clogging problems we've had at MC lately.

Just e-mail or call them, or send them snail mail They'll get the point sooner or later and give the fans what they want. And tell folks in other message boards, too. We had to go through a few years of bugging JHC and HIT! to get the S1 set, and looks like we'll have to do the same thing.

If folks don't buy the 3-episode DVDs then they'll see that they can't just get us to buy anything. They need to give us the Season Sets first, and THEN begin selling the 3-episode DVDs for folks who missed the Season Sets.

OverUnderAround
11-08-2005, 10:13 AM
I'm sure HIT is aware of the plans to develop a Fraggle movie, this would only encourage them to release the DVD sets.

However like some movie studios have done in the past, they might hold off releasing the DVD sets till the movie is just about to be released to maximize sales.

Fozzie Bear
11-08-2005, 06:58 PM
They have several seasons to use for that sales pitch, though. But, once S1 is out, and they release S2--folks just GOTTA have the other ones too.

I do, anyhoo.

DTWolf
11-16-2005, 03:46 PM
They have several seasons to use for that sales pitch, though.

Yeah--since the movie hasn't even started filming yet, it would not make sense to hold off season 2 until its release. That would mean losing interest among many of the people who bought season 1 (I mean more casual buyers out there in the non-Muppet Central world--people here aren't going to lose any interest!). There's a thing called momentum to be considered. . . . They can schedule season 4 or 5 to be released along with the movie, depending on how far they get.

Personally I'm one of those who had no hand (or should I say voice?) in calling for Season 1's release, but I went out and bought the box the first day it was available. I'll do the same with season 2 if they give me a chance!

Fozzie Bear
11-16-2005, 04:25 PM

DTWolf

I rarely make it to Memphis. I haven't been down there for several years.

But I'd go if it would help us get Fraggle Rock season 2! :)

It took me a while but I followed the link and found the news item. I just wish the Fraggle Rock season set would come out in Australia. I see that The Muppet Show season 1 set is here as are the DVD's of The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper.
