Someone else pointed this out over a year ago, but did anyone else notice the sparks/romantic implications between Gobo & Mokey in Season One? Some examples:

#7 I Want to be You: Gobo ignores Red and clings to Mokey (perhaps Red likes Gobo a little bit, tho she'd never admit it)
#22 Mokey's Funeral: Gobo says, after he thinks Mokey is dead, "I never got to tell her... so many things." This line seems to be saying quite a lot.
#24 New Trash Heap in Town: just their whole dynamic in "A Helping Hand"

I think Gobo was kinda sweet on Mokey, and maybe she felt the same way.

Anyone else have anything to add?

i belive Mokey was like a big sister to Gobo and he needed that

Yeah, but Gobo is always giving Red hugs. I think Gobo is more appreciative of Mokey as an older figure, like a big sister, while with Red, he has to look out for her since she's younger.

It was forum member Mokey Fraggle who pointed that out almost one year ago this month... funny you mentioned it. I think Red's not mature enough for Gobo. I've noticed that throughout all five seasons, Gobo and Mokey belong moreso together than Red with Gobo.

Noo! I'm a strong Red and Gobo advocate. ><

It always seemed to me that Mokey and Boober would be a great pair (not romantically, just buddies.)

I still think that the line "I never got to tell her... so many things" indicates that Gobo had romantic feelings for her that he was afraid to speak out loud. What other feelings could he have had that he would've been afraid to iterate in front of Red?

Eeeee~! I'm SO happy to know I'm not the only one who thinks that! *__* I could kiss you for making this thread! ♥♥♥♥

I always saw Gobo and Red having a brother-sisterly type relationship, but that's just me.

Well, there could be so many things that you never got to tell your mother, or one of your good friends about how much they truly mean to you. It doesn't have to be romantic.

Maybe they did this on purpose. Like, it could go either way, and it would always leave us wondering.

Maybe.

But I am all for Red and Gobo. Dunno why, but probably cause Red is my second favorite character. :excited:

Some to add:

#22 Mokey's Funeral: after Mokey overhears the others ripping on her poetry, she gets upset and says something along the lines of "they don't even like my poems, even Gobo", as though she counted on him more than the others or felt a deeper connection to him
#23 The Beast of Bluerock: she hugs him and calls him a "brave, strong hero-to-be"
#24 New Trash Heap in Town: the little bit at the end, when they're hugging, complimenting each other, and particularly when she puts the flower garland on his head, then runs away giggling (thus making him chase her)

It may be grasping at straws but when you put it all together, it could suggest that there may have been something.

Yes, I always sensed that "special relationship" they had also...really there were so many complex layers of relationships, but the Gobo-Mokey one was always the one which most intrigued me (since Mokey is favorite, for one big thing).

There's also "Blanket of Snow, Blanket of Woe" where Gobo and Mokey are teamed up for most of that episode. Plus, the Gorgs' salt shakers just happen to be replicas of Gobo and Mokey. ;) I know, it ain't season 1, but I thought of it as another example...

And I too love Gobo's line, "I never got to tell her...so many things." I love how they have the pause before "so many things"...it just makes it so much more profound. So deep.

Man, I gotta get this set!!!
