What was the first show you saw, the first time you went to see Sesame Street Live?
My first show was "Big Bird And The ABC's" from 1987. I saw the show back in January 1994, probably one of the last shows to tour from the 80s.
The story I remember some very well, and some of it vaguely, I still wish I had the book. Here is what I remember from the show:
The backround you see first is the blue sky backround the "ABC" in red, green, and orange colors. Big Bird comes out and introuduces his friends, he brings out Ernie and Bert, Cookie Monster, Prairie Dawn, The Count, and Guy Smiley. Oscar The Grouch and Elmo(never spoke during the show) came out moments later, along with Super Grover crashing to the stage. The characters than sing a song, and than they all sing "Who Are The People in Your Neighborhood", with a AM postman and girl dancer(I think there was suppose to be two, according to what I remember seeing in the book), and they would stay out and about during the whole show. Than all of a sudden, I remember flashing dark lights started going crazy on the stage, and there came a blue female alien(probably female) named "Tee-Hee". From what I remember, she didn't know the alphabet and the SS gang decide to teach her.
I remember in the show:
*Ernie, Bert, and Tee Hee tell some knock-knock jokes.
*Cookie Monster singing "C-Is For Cookie" with back up singers with different foods, Guy Smiley with a cucumber, Count with a Carrot, and Grover with a cabbage.
*Something about Count running a popcorn stand, and he and the gang sing a song about it??
*Something about Ernie, Bert, and Guy in shades singing some hip tune.
*A bit with the SS gang talking about nursery rhymes or something(Ernie in his pajamas).
*Guy Smiley hosting a little show with Prairie Dawn wearing a glamorous outfit.
The show ends with the gang singing "Its Time To Say Goodbye", and the SS characters wave so long from Sesame Street Live and close the curtains.
I remember a little scoreboard type box above the stage having little lighted Ernie and Bert and others waving goodbye.
Also, from what I remember Telly was suppose to be in the show(according to the book I use to have), but didn't appear!
Share your memories of SSL with show descriptions(also, if anyone could explain BB and the ABC's more than I did, that would be great).

You know... Me thinks I saw the advert for that one back in 1991 when my family was vacationing in Florida. Wasn't the alien character named "DJ"?
Cause the way I think I remember the advert, the announcer went: "A... B... C... And D is for DJ!"
Then the standard music played.
Will post with my memories next.

Could have been named DJ, but I kinda remember it was Tee-Hee, I'm not sure hmm.

As for my SS Live memories...
I've gone to two different shows with my family, back when I was younger and had better sight, and when my dad was still alive.
The two shows were:
1 Big Bird getting drafted into PT Barnswallow's circus with the Seedy Birds.
2 Another one where the gang had to save SS from getting bought out and kind of going over a bit of the history of the street.
Have the books from both shows, though I rully only have memories of the second one. This may be a "Count" moment, but the lasting memory I have from that second show is a fence near the 1-2-3 brownstone under a blue sky scenery piece... And then you see the numbers from 1 to 10 light up either in the sky scenery piece or on the planks of the fence.
You know... There's a show called SS Live: Out of this World touring now with planned stops here at PR. Thought of going and maybe making a sort of review for MC, but I'm not sure especially when the show will be in Spanish. Much rather would prefer to see/go to an English SS Live show here in PR or whenever I get the chance.
Hope this helps.

Well, I went in the mid-90's. I went because I never got to go as a kid, and I could afford it on my own. I went alone. Parents were pulling their kids closer to them when they realized I was alone there! That hurt my feelings.
Of course, the sized-large Elmo t-shirt I had on was like 10 times too small...

I remember SESAME STREET ON ICE, which were basically the Sesame characters meets Ice Capades.
I saw a show in 1976, similar to the look and style as the beginning of Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.

I went with my parents when I was about 3 years old to see Sesame Street Live in 1984 for the first time. I don't remember much about the story, but I do remember there was a bad guy with a big car that made alot of noise and I was afraid of noises when I was a little kid and I became really frightened and it was like Big Bird and his friends let me down! LOL.
I got to see a couple of shows when I was older in a REALLY cool way. They used to practice the show each year at an ice arena near my house. My aunt knew someone who worked with the company and we used to get in for free to watch them practice the show before it went on tour. It was SO cool, we'd get to sit up really close. I remember seeing "Big Bird's ABC's" this way and also "When I Grow Up".

Hey, you think you could give me the real storyline of Big Bird's ABC's, including the songs that were in it, any pictures?

Could have been named DJ, but I kinda remember it was Tee-Hee, I'm not sure hmm.
I remember seeing two different shows in a row (two years in a row, that is) that featured Tee-Hee, and I remember the secodn one having another alien-like character who I think might have been a friend or relative of Tee-Hee. Maybe that's where the confusion comes from.
Hey you guys! If you want to know more about the Sesame Street Live show with Tee-Hee and then the second one - find the forum that's titled: "Sesame Street Live Guide" - it's got all the shows from 1980-2005... Some of them have summaries and some do not! I've got the programs 2 a lot of those shows and I'm planning to scan them and post them....so check out that forum and leave me a post! :)

My first time posting in this thread! Yay!:D
Anyways, my very first SSL show was 1-2-3...Imagine! I remember seeing the commercial promo for the show at my grandma's house, and wanted to go sooo bad. While I have very little memories, I do remember watching Big Bird onstage, getting a Big Bird flashlight, and seeing Ernie perform his song "I Don't Want To Live On The Moon"(which is why it is one of my favorite Ernie songs.
My next show was Elmo's Coloring Book. While Big Bird was officialy my favorite SS charcter, this year I began to develop a thing for Elmo also. I remember alot from this show. Such scenes as the mama dinosaur coming onstage, nothing showing but two of her feet and her head looking down at the rest of the gang; I remember that annoying(at the time) blue palette who would every now and then tell the audience to laugh to fire up Proffesor Art's machine; Oscar's Junkyard scene; Oscar turning white and color disapearing from S.S.; the polar bear who took all the colors; Big Bird's yellow song; I remember buying an Elmo figurine, a blue t-shirt with Elmo and the SSL logo on it, the program(of course),an Elmo flashlight, and some SSL crayons. Ah..good times.
When I Grow Up, which I consider to be my favorite show of all time, is a show I saw twice! Once with my classmates and the other with my mom, aunt, and cousin. This is the first show which I was introduced to Prarrie Dawn and Grover(who previously in other shows did not speak or appear). Also, I developed a love for Roxy Marie, for some reason. I loved the song, When I Grow Up, it just haves that sort of special feel to it. :sing:..."When I Grow Up, I want to be, part of this great family, Across the lands, Across the seas, When I Grow Up!" I remember when the muppets came out into the audience, Prarrie Dawn came over to where we were sitting, and I was scared out of my mind! That gal was so big! She sort of "apologized" for scaring me though. My fav scene would be Roxy Marie's Train and when the gang sang "Just One Person" to Big Bird. *So Cute* I remember getting the WIGU program, a stuffed Big Bird plush, a SSL pennant, and an Elmo flashlight.

Big Bird's Sunny Day Campout was the first time I sat in front row at a show. We were on the left side of the stage, which is where Snuffy was ALWAYS at! I remember that at one point in the show, Snuffy swung his trunk so close he almost hit my friend! LOL. I also remember my mom taking a picture of The Count, and him jumping back afterwards! He then "told" Big Bird what was going on. Oh, and did I mention during the intermission, a 2-year old girl walked up on stage about to touch the hot stagelight! It's a good thing that

It's a good thing that the security lady stopped her! Unlike the previous shows, the advantage of sitting in the first row is being able to see backstage. Although I never saw it, my mom says she saw either the Ernie or Elmo performer take the head off! OMG! HEHE. Man, there's so many memories from this show, it's too much to type. Well, I'll tell what I got. I remember getting the show program, another Elmo flashlight,an Elmo plush, and a pennant.
Let's Be Friends had sooo many muppets in it! Well, except Grover, but it was such a great show! Although I was saddend about the lack of Snuffy, this show had great songs and was the first time I got a soundtrack of SSL. I also got the show program, and a figurine set that had BB, Elmo, Zoe, Super Grover, Bert, Ernie, Cookie, and even Barkley and Baby Natasha! This would probbably be my last favorite SSL show, even though such others like Super Grover! Ready for Action and Out of This World also seemed pretty good.

One of the tings is remember is from "When I Grow Up". It had Oscar singing "The Itsy, Bitsy Spider" with Elmo, Telly, Grover and others and Grudgetta came in with a fake spider on a string and scared everyone, even Oscar, away.

Yes, he was. Not as much though. Only in the park scene and the circus scene.

I went to see Big Bird and the ABCs at the Summit in Houston, Texas in 1992, and all I remember now was Tee Hee singing "ABC-DEF-GHI," (originally sung by Big Bird on SS) Then, in 1993, I went back to the Summit and saw Sleeping Birdie - a Sesame-inspired take on the fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty," and the scene I remember most from that show was Bert singing "Read a Good Book" and playing a guitar as he sang.
