As we know the first season of "The Muppet Show" was released just a few days ago. Well, I've wondered, after watching the first season, what will the next 4 seasons include on their covers, the disc covers, the special features, everything?! Well, season 1 included this...

Disc 1 - Kermit
Disc 2 - Miss Piggy
Disc 3 - Fozzie
Disc 4 - Gonzo

But what will Seasons 2-4 offer...well I made a little DVD wishful thinking of my own and tell me if you like it...

Although the covers of the DVD seem a little bland, I just thought that sense the 1st Season featured only Kermit's collar and stomach that the rest should do the same...keeping the DVD series as a theme...Then, I thought, after the Muppet Show DVDs came out...they should put out "Muppet's Tonight" on a 2-Disc set, for it didn't last very long...

:boo:
The Complete Series of "Muppets Tonight"
Cover: Cast of "Muppets Tonight" - with studio in background at night.
Disc 1 - Kermit, Clifford, Gonzo, Rizzo, Fozzie, Bunsen, and Beaker
Bonus Features: Interviews with the Muppets

Bonus Features: Muppet Trivia
Guest Stars of the Show
Classic Muppets Vs. New Muppets
Pepe - The Impact

I like your ideas, although judging by the way the features were on the first set, i don't think there will be features (besides morsels) on any discs other than four.

Here are my ideas, part-wishlist, part-predictions:

features;
muppet morsels (each episode)
promo gag reel
a Jim Henson retrospective
The Muppet valentine Show

season 3: fozzie bear
disc 1 art: Rowlf
disc 2 art: scooter
disc 3 art: veterinarians hospital (rowlf, piggy, janice)
disc 4 art: the swedish chef
features:
muppet morsels (on each disc)
photo gallery
sixty minutes: backstage at the muppet show
promo gag reel

season 4: Gonzo
disc 1 art: Animal
disc 2 art: floyd and janice
disc 3 art: dr. teeth
disc 4 art: zoot
features:
muppet morsels
promo gag reel
a conversation with the muppet performers (frank oz, jerry nelson, dave goelz, steve whitmire, and kathy mullen) (new)

season 5: Scooter
disc 1 art: sam the eagle
disc 2 art: rizzo the rat, foo foo, and gaffer
disc 3 art: beauregard, pops, lew zeland, and annie sue pig.

I can see the cover of Fozzie, Gonzo, and Scooter...but Miss Piggy? She'd have her ta-ta's popping out! LOL! That's why I discarded that idea...LOL...Although, I think it would be a little harder to fit 2 Muppets on one disc cover art...I planned on putting that down, but then I thought about how much space it would take and how you would really want to see the character...But still, great ideas!

Thanks! Y'know, they shouldn't attempt to watch how much they put on these DVDs...it's what htey don't put on these DVDs! You know? Enough with the Muppetisms they've got on the other DVDS : THe muppet movie, muppet caper, muppets take manhattan....y'know? Let's get interviews...special features that count! BEHiND THE SCEnES STUFf! They need to find actual blooper reels from THe muppet show series instead of the promos! I mean, Muppets Tonight did it, why can't they find the bloopers to these? I'm sure htey're around SOMEWHERE!!! I hope Disney gets the idea I've got and put as much as possible...even get some interviews with the Henson family and then on the final season do a little tribute to the series and Henson....maybe even put "The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson" on the DVD as a special disc to it's self...y'know?! SOMETHING!!!

If they have all of that stuff, don't you think it'd be best the put it out there???!!!

It would also be nice if Disney had a commentary track with the episodes on the shows...and easter eggs!

Again, i just hope that they keep the trend of the cover art the same - like with Kermit, then have another key Muppet character - with the cloth cover

UltimateDisney, a unofficial Disney DVD fansite, lists The Muppet Show -Season 2 as "expected spring 2006". I contacted them to see what prompted them to list that time frame (to see if they had any new information from Disney or other sources with more information on the release). They said that they are working from the same exact information we are (infact they cited my site, The Muppet Newsflash, and Muppet Central as some of their main source for this information). There is nothing official yet. And Spring 2006 is just the educated guess - an expectation - not an official plan.

I’ve was told that the goal was to have Season 2 out around the spring of 2006, (March/April/May-ish). However, Disney may decide to push it even later (depending on the overall marketing plan for the series and The Muppets’ work on DVD, along with the factor of just how long it takes them to actually put the whole season 2 set together).

I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear anything more, but take everything with "a grain of salt" until we hear something more solid. Nothing official has been stated, nothing official has been released. Just hang in there!

I would like to see Disney put these rare Muppet idents from the Disney Channel as special features : "save target as....." DOWNLOAD (http://www.angelfire.com/planet/muppets2/dis_chan.zip) - enjoy ;)

For special features, I would like interviews from the performers like Jerry, Dave, Frank, etc. and even archive footage interviews from Richard and Jim.

I also wouldn't mind seeing the first pilot of the show as well as Muppets Go To Hollywood, and also the Muppet Meeting Films.
