I have several passions. Some are normal. Some are ackward. Some are down-right strange. I have two strange passions. One of my strangest passions is minigolf (it's such a fun game!). The other even stranger passion is windmills (I don't even know why.) I just wanted to know, who was the one who actually came up with the concept of windmills being used for minigolf?

I'm not sure, but I think he was probably either a Commie or a Nazi. You know how hard it is to play through the windmills? I kinda imagine some weirdo in a little room with a piece of paper in front of him reading "Minigolf Torture Device 2" (the first being the pipe that your ball always gets stuck in).
PS: You ever been to a Putting Edge?

Not that I recall.

I'm not sure who came up with that concept, however I know that those things annoy me while playing minigolf.
Also, I can play minigolf but not real golf.. not fun to me.

I'm actually pretty good at real golf, I can beat my grandfather on a good day (and he's the best player I know). I haven't played a game in a while as I outgrew my clubs there two years ago, but I'm looking into some new ones.

That's cool! I just never have been that good at it, suggesting that's probally the reason I don't like it that much. Minigolf has always been pretty fun in general for me though. However, I am not talking about like PuttPutt golf, I mean like Tinytown golf and so on..

I hear ya there. Love the mini-golf, no interest in the full-size game.

when you go mini golfing, does anybody get the urge to just hit the ball as hard as you can and send it across the entire park. Me and some friends were at Grand Slam (this place w/Lazer Tag, mini golf, batting cages, arcade games, etc.) and we get kicked out of the mini golf area because of this.

Yes, I get that urge sometimes. Unfortunately, you try this on the computer game "3-D Ultra Minigolf", it don't quite work that way, unless your hitting up a hill, then you get a "penalty stroke".

I don't know what it is, and I'm sure I don't want to. Once hit my father in the arm with a golf ball. It was kinda sad, but at the same time, it was REALLY funny. I didn't know there were that many curse words...

I just like referring to "the incident" when no real incident ever occurred...

Oh ya... I just hit the ball so hard that it smashed up a convenience store three counties away. I served four months in a maximum security ward for super-heroes and jedis after that...

The closest I ever got to a golfing 'incident' was when I was fourteen and my friend and I were messing about in her house and smashed the glass panel on her front door. As her Dad was out we brought his golf clubs down from the half landing and arranged them in an "accidentally fell down the stairs and smashed the door" arrangement. He bought it, we remained punishment free, in fact he was in a really good mood because the door was covered by insurance and was replaced with a UPVC double glazed model and his golf clubs seemed completely unscathed... ;)

Wow, that is one lucky break (so to speak). Congrats on getting away with it...

the other day I was mini golfing and I hit it really hard, it bouced of a rock, a tree, and a few other things and landed almost extactly where it started, i was thinking "Why didn't I have my video camera, that was so cool" That's the kinda thing that can only happen by accident.

That's pretty cool. It sucked you couldn't get it on tape though.. or that'd be pretty funny.

So you wasted a stroke and it didn't even go anywhere? ;)

Same here, now if it were REAL golf, then I'd probably think differently.

I was once out in a golf game with two guys I didn't know. It was a water hole. One guy hit his ball, and it proceeded to ricochet off a rock on the other side of the lake, come back and land exactly on the tee he started out with. But yours is neater. :)

Hmm...I suck at put-put golf. One time I hit the ball really hard and it flew into the waterfall. I wonder if they ever got it out.

no, not in the same swing, it wasn't even the same day, but the club just slipped out of my hand and hit him in the face :concern:
