As suggested by The Count!

Here are the rules for the game, "The Count's Counting Castle".

1 The Players.

Any forum member who decides they want to play/participate in this game can certainly do so.

a. Forum members can play as any Muppet character they want, who happen to visit the Count's castle.
b. Forum members can choose to play as any Muppet character currently found listed in my Muppets 14.0 thread or the Muppet Listings 15.0 thread should the previous version be updated during game play.
c. To keep things orderly, no new player can choose a Muppet character that's been already taken, similar to the rule for the Muppet Central College Dorms thread.
d. It's obvious that I can't actually force anyone to play through the entirety of the game should it be opened, but if you're going to play then please do so and don't just post once with who you've chosen to play as and then leave after that initial posting.

2 Tour Travels.

The game will probably play as follows:

The Muppets have come to visit the Count's castle for a tour through our noted numerian's domain.
The Count greets them and leads them all on a guided tour, visiting the different sections of his grand home.
Each section they pass through is ennumerated and thus has a number of their own, along with a boss monster guarding that section of the castle.
The game play might vary and evolve to include every-day life in the castle with friends and fiends alike, kind of like how the game play of the dorms has evolved to its current state.

3 Game Mission.

You didn't think that this game wouldn't have any challenges did you? Remember I said there would be a boss monster protecting each section of the castle? What'll happen is this: The Muppets meet the boss monster/creature, that guard then asks the Muppets to complete some sort of errand or task, upon completion the Boss Monster gives the Count the number and allows the tour party to continue the tour.

4 Room Routes.

Because I'll be playing the host, the tour will start off in the lobby/reception room where a 0 will be handed to the Count by his bats. This 0 will grant me an all-access pass as your host. From there, we'll move on to what would be Room 1, do the task the boss monster asks of us, and then to Room 2 and so on. Players can provide suggestions as to what monster and/or room will be the next stop on the tour, if they wish to do so, in the form of footnotes at the end of their posts enclosed by stars.

Example: *Room #5: The Mandragora, Garden Gazebo.*
If no suggestions are made, then I'll conduct the tour to the next stop I think of.

5 Monsters/Creatures.

These are the bosses protecting the numbers at each section of the counting castle.
Here's a sampling of the type of monster/creature you can suggest as potential bosses.

a. Classic movie monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Werewolf, the Mummy, etc.
b. Mythical monsters or beings like Medusa, Kali, the Druid Priest, the Mermaid, the Hydra, etc.
c. Actual animal humanoids fitting a castle scenario like a Mouse, Vulture, Owl Humanoid or others.
d. Creatures or beings whose dominating design quirk is an inanimate object fitting a castle scenario like a candle, tombstone, black cross, mirror either whole or shattered or other such ideas.
e. Creatures or beings from the realm of fairies fitting a castle scenario like the Queen of Hearts, the Salamander, the Troll, the Unicorn, Jack O'Lantern, etc.

If you guys should need help with this, contact me, (The Count) and I can provide a list I have of such creatures you could suggest as bosses for the various sections of the counting castle.

Have fun! The Count should start this game! Wait for his first post!

Oh my gosh! Thank you BethC!

*Organ music can be heard in the background.
Ah ha! Greetings, it is I, the Count von Count! Velcome to my Counting Castle. Glad to see that some friends have already come here for the tour, and what a grand tour it'll be.
Think we should wait for at least one more visitor before moving to the lobby/reception area. Hope that everyone has fun during the tour throughout my castle. I know I hope it'll end up being great fun, and I can't wait to start counting the moments of fun we'll have.
*Cuts red ribbon in front of castle doors.
I hereby declare the game/tour started. Have fun!

That's OK Bo, just so long as we can count among the friends having a good time here at my castle. The register's open and here's who's logged in.
Kimp the Shrimp as Grover.
Barry Lee as Cookie Monster.
(Heh, guess that means that Kyle will have to be only Herry in this game if he gets here soon.)
Bobhopesite as Telly.
Beauregard as Beauregard from TMS.
And the list will grow from there.

*Out of character: Please start making suggestions for what Room 1 will be and the Boss Monster guarding it.

Forgot, Beakerfan will be playing as Snuffy.

Oh Cookie, that's not what I meant. What should be the tour's first stop and what curious castle creature should be guarding that room? Besides, thought you already had your fill with the cookies you got for Christmas. Well, I'll be back to check on who's here and if we can get this game really started in a little while.

The Count

No, Cookie, please don't be mad. Guess I should've attached a "Roll Eyes Sarcastically" icon to my previous post, but you know I usually don't use them given my blind batty eyes.
Sorry Cookie, didn't mean to upset you.
*Offers Cookie Monster a tray of freshly baked Christmas cookies and a glass of milk as a peace offering.
Hope you'll come back to the lobby and join the tour.

Oh hello Janice, vas hoping you'd come to the castle and join the tour.
Well, seeing as how there's a decent-sized party of Muppet friends here, I think we'll start.
*Bats fly in and hand the Count a marble 0 with a small key as well.
OK, this 0 grants me an all-access pass as your tour guide/host, and the key will open up any door we find. So, let's get ready to move on out to our first stop.

*Tour leaves for Room 1.
*Out of Character: Please add your suggestions as asked for above as to what Room 1 and its Boss Monster will be.

The Count
12-29-2004, 03:16 PM
Well then... If there are no suggestions... I'll just move this tour to Room 1 myself.
*Leads Muppets gathered to a sort of cloud-swept room. OK, this here is the Dream Room, it's herre near the ground so I hope everyone's able to fit in the room.
Notice the lightly grayed clouds aroun the corners of the room. They form soft and cozy chairs for sitting during a rainy or particularly slow day and dreaming about your fondest wishes. Ah, and here's the guardian, Miss Unicorn. Hello Una, are you doing vell? Brought some friends here on a tour throughout the castle. Let the other creatures know we'll be going to the other rooms and have them set everything up for public viewing.
So, is this a good start to the tour?

*Waits for reply from Muppets.

The Count
12-29-2004, 03:42 PM
Good, wasn't sure how the tour was going for a minute there. Oh now Grover, what's there to be afraid of? The counting creatures are mostly nice creatures, if you get to know them like I have. Come and sit down here in this comfy cloud chair. There, now that's not so bad is it?
OK, there are some additional pillows on the end of the chairs if you feel like taking a nap. See, this is the place where iI come to hatch out my ideas.
*Miss Unicorn returns. Ah, back again my friend. So, the others are ready? Good, then we'll just...
*Miss Unicorn blocks the exit. Ah yes, we must complete some errand of yours before leaving. Well, what would you have us do?
Miss Unicorn: "All that's needed to pass through my door is for you to find my golden ring. It's hidden in one of the clouds here in this room, but you'll have to search them all before you can leave."

*OK, start searching!

Barry Lee

Count, can me take room two?

The Count
12-29-2004, 03:49 PM
*Out of Character: Uh, what do you mean by "take Room 2"? Do you mean suggest what room and what Boss Monster should be guarding it will be? If you LMK then I can answer your question better.

JaniceFerSure

Is the ring in cloud 5?

The Count
12-29-2004, 07:04 PM
*Out of Character: Barry, I feel you're misunderstanding the game. But then again, I feel that's gonna happen with most others. When I asked for you to suggest a Boss Monster guarding the room, it's not a SS nor Muppet monster, but rather a creature from those categories up in the rules at the beginning of this thread. On the other hand, I feel that most might not get the whole gist of what I proposed and I have the urge to purge the thing. I'll leave this game running for another day to gage the results/roleplay, but I'll see what happens from now till then.

*Back in Character: Yes, you've found the ring Janice. Now hand it to the unicorn so we can go to the tour's next stop.

JaniceFerSure

*Out of Character: Thanks D, might not give up on it, especially since I've had a bit of brain storming raining down upon my ideas, which has helped define them a bit better.

*Back in Character: Ah velcome Rowlf (McFraggle). Unfortunately, you've come at a bad time. The thing is that I'm going to have to ask all of you to come back another day. The castle will be undergoing a remodeling phase, and I don't vant to endanger any of my fellow Muppet friends. I'll let you know when the castle tours will resume, maybe as soon as the New Year hits. Hope you guys can understand and hope to see you here when the castle reopens.

Yes, I agree, some red rum vould be delicious with some Kimp the Shrimp-kabobs. Now please, I'll let you guys know when the castle's open again for tours through the corners of my numbered domicile.

*Bats escort Kimp outside the castle walls.
Sorry to have to do that Kimp, but I don't want anyone gettin' hurt while the castle's being' refurbished. Hope you understand and have a good weekend.

Is this thing going to be re-opened?

The Count
03-05-2005, 09:54 AM
Not as a game, no. Sorry to let you guys know like this...
Been talking and thiniking it over, and I've decided that it'd be better to continue/restart this as more of a narrative of my own creation. Would probably start it up in the summer on a web blog of my very own too by summer's start. Why so late? Cause I've got a ton of things on the agenda fright now and I don't want to overload or push something off of the plate when it needs to be there on the front burner.
Will probably get myself a web blog and start up the Counting Castle there as a series of postings or short narrations, kind of like a spinning/evolving fictional creation.
Hope you guys can understand and I'm sorry for the inconvenience posed by this game. If the Gamemasters or Phillip himself want too, they can shut or delete this thread.
Hope that helps and have a good weekend.
