Is there any 2 charachters in A Muppet Family Christmas that you know would have made a perfect scene together but weren't used together? Here's who I think

Big Bird and Doc

Grover and Gonzo

Oscar and Doc

Prarie and Rowlf: They could have argued over who was gonna play the Piano in during the Sesame Street Pagaent

The Two headed Monster and Animal

Also I think it would have been good to include Telly in this special, He could have been worrying about what they were gonna do when they were stranded there,

Anyone else?

I've sometimes wondered how Miss Piggy and Prairie Dawn would get along.

Well she was looking out the window when Miss Piggy had finally made it to Ma Bear's and she seemed pretty eager about it.

I agree, Grover and Gonzo would make an interesting combination. :)

I can see it now

Grover: Hey......... Froggy..... Baby................. (slaps Kermit on back)

Kermit: Sheesh.... Hello Grover, glad you could make it (looks at camera) oh boy...

Grover: Oh Froggy, how wonderful it's going to be spending Christmas Eve with you.

Kermit: Listen Grover, I'm not gonna be able to hang out with you much while your'e here, Iv'e got to.......... Help the Swedish Chef cook, yeah, he's got a big Christmas Dinner to make, and can't do it all by himself, and I have to help Mrs. Bear hang up the Decorations, and........... shovel snow outside.

Grover; (disapointed) oh

Kermit: But don't worry, Iv'e got a friend that you will get along with just fine. Oh Gonzo...........

Gonzo: Yeah Kermit

Kermit: This is my friend Grover from Sesame Street, please do me a favor, keep him company while he's here, get to know him, spend time with him (leans close to Gonzo and kind of whispers) keep him away from me.

Gonzo: Oh...... but Kermit, I'm really not in the mood to make a new Friend, Camilla might leave me for that Turkey fella, I might have to sleep on a hanger on a hook on the wall, the old guy with the dog hates me, and.....

Kermit: I'll give you a raise

Gonzo: Well since you put it that way......... (puts his arm around Grover and walks off) so........ your'e from Sesame Street huh? How's the weather there this time of year? Iv'e always wanted to visit there, hey do you think they'd like my act?

Kermit: that was easy, but it's gonna cost me.

I wish...
Gobo Fraggle didn't look quite so scary and despotic when he first appears so mysteriously and slow,
Sweetums was there and hung with Big Bird,
and Gonzo beat the bejeezus outta' the turkey for messin' with Camilla, I didn't like that turkey, boy.

Beauregard
12-01-2004, 10:04 AM
Sweetums was way to big to fit. One large charcter was all they could squish into that living room. (And if they had Sweetums, why not Snuffy?)

Still, it would have been good... He'd look some lovely shaking snow out of his fur.

*wiggles with delight*

So, huggable.

Actually, Link is in The Muppet Movie (sitting next to Piggy in the theater) and Muppets Take Manhattan (he cries when Kermit and Piggy are married).

Guy Smiley and Rowlf are very cool characters. Together, their conversation could have been priceless.

Animal and Cookie Monster...CLASSIC, that's all I have to say

Also, I don't think Bean was part of the "muppet crew" at that point, hadn't he just been in Bunny Picnic at that point?

Apeaking of which, did Disney acquire the muppet productions such as Bunny picnin, emmet otter, Mr. whatever's christmas tree?

Also, does anyone out there have an unedited version MFC? I will sell my soul for a copy...write me and let me know if we can work out a deal. ;)

I believe that Link can be seen at the end of the MFC in the carol sing.

Also, (sidenote), Dr. Strangepork was in MFS at the end scene on the beach. Miss Piggy is talking to the camera, and then it pans to some other characters until it reaches Gonzo. Dr. Strangepork is one of those characters (and he is wearing his PIS uniform). He also appeared in a Christmas Carol in the scene with the Ghost of Christmas Present at Fred and Martha Cratchit's Christmas party. He may also be in MTM at the wedding scene, but I cannot remember specifcally...

Beauregard
12-01-2004, 02:44 PM
Also, isn't he in the Muppet Movie? And Link too? At the begining in the movie theatre?

But, back on topic: I'd have liked to see more of Guy Smiley.

And also I'd have liked to see Grover irritate Fat Blue.

Also, I think it would have been fun for the Turkey to leave Camilla and like Miss Piggy. "Keep your hands to yourself, turkey!" (From TGMC) It would have fitted well.

AmazingMumford
12-01-2004, 03:40 PM
And also I'd have liked to see Grover irritate Fat Blue.

Awsome Idea! This is what could have happened.

Grover approaches fat blue with a Present

Merry Christmas Sir!

Fat Blue: Oh no...... it's you again! Look I just want to enjoy my Christmas like everyone else here, without YOU ruining it for me.

Grover: But sir, I have come to give you this present that I bought for you sir. (hands fat blue the present)

Fat Blue: A Present? For me? Well how thoughtful......

Grover: Yes sir, tis the season of giving sir, peace on earth good will toward men, and all that good stuff.

Fat Blue: Well gee, mabye Iv'e had you wrong for all these years, let me just open this up and see what you got me.

Fat Blue opens the present, and there's a dress inside

Fat Blue: What is this? This is a girl's dress! I am not a girl! I am a BOY!

Grover: (looking all embarassed) Oh........ I am terribly sorry sir! That is for my little friend Prarie, Oh Dear, now I'm gonna have to rerap it, and I don't even know if Mrs. Bear has any extra wrapping paper.

Fat Blue: Look I'm just gonna go over there and grab a glass of Eggnog, and talk with those 2 elderly Gentlemen that just got here.....

Wait a Minute sir! THIS is your present (Pulls up another Present)

Fat Blue: Are you SURE that's for me

Grover: Sir I'm sure sure, I mean sir I'm sir sure, errrr, Sure I'm Sure sure, I mean YES this present is in fact for YOU

Fat Blue: Well........ okay....... (opens it up and looks amazed) Why..... why..... it's a Fruit Basket.

Grover: Oh boy.... I knew it, you don't like it, Your'e Alergic to fruit, I will have to take it back, Oh this is so terrible, (starts crying)

Fat Blue: No no, I LOVE IT! It's just what I wanted! And it's Beautiful! (Sets it down and gives Grover a Big Hug) Merry Christmas Pal........

Grover: Awww...... I just love Happy Endings

I agree with that. I often think about the similarities between Grover and Gonzo. Two blue, furry Muppets with very similar characteristics. It would be great to see them pal around with each other.

As far as everyone missing, or not being there, you have to look REAL close, I've watvhed that thing a billion times, and I see new Muppets in there everytime that I didn't see before, especially when they are decorating in the background and at the end of the caroling in front of the fire. But the GREATEST moment is at the very end when Jim and Sprocket are washing the dishes and Jim says something akin to: "They're having fun... I like when they have fun." I cry like a baby every time I see that.
Also, I think it would have been fun for the Turkey to leave Camilla and like Miss Piggy. "Keep your hands to yourself, turkey!" (From TGMC) It would have fitted well.
These are some of the best ideas I've ever read.

Hmm...I almost wish they would have used a different voice for the turkey. He sounded so much like Rizzo that if I'm not constantly watching the screen (sometimes I have movies going on in the background) that I get confused. Other than that I would have liked to see more of Robin.

It would have been cool if Barkley showed up at some point to meet Sprocket and Rowlf (not that Sprocket and Rowlf's meeting wasn't cool enough).

Some others:
Bif and Sully meet Beauregard (or anyone for that matter)
Red and Scooter (Just because Red reminds me of MB Skeeter)
Animal and Frazzle (I know, I know, Frazzle wasn't there. But he could have been.)
Sam and the Fraggles
(Sam: You live in a rock?
Gobo: Well, yeah.
Sam: And you've never heard of the Muppets?
Wembley: Well, no.
Sam: Tell me something...are you decent Americans?
Mokey: Well, we don't know what an "American" is, but we are decent.
Sam: Decent, impressionable young minds. There's so much to teach you. Take me with you.
Boober: You scare me!)

Hi, I'm a newbie, and I have some ideas:

I recorded the video on a tape, so I remember quite clearly every part.

Here are the things that I wish would have been at least added to the film:

1. Grover and Gonzo - I saw them at least acknowledge each other: once when Oscar told the other muppets of the news alert on the television, I saw Grover and Gonzo standing next to each other, and looking as if they were chatting, and another time when the Fozzie and Ms. Bear talked to each other about who was going to sleep where and they looked up at Gonzo and Animal, who were sleeping on the wall, Grover saw this and I saw him acknowledge them.

2. Ernie and Lew Zealand - First off, I have no idea why Ernie did not have his rubber duck. Second, Ernie and Luke could have paired. Ernie could have told Luke that the reason he can not sleep at night, is because he wants to be with Luke, instead of Bert, and Bert could go hang out with some other muppet. Ernie and Luke have lots of similarities not to hang out with each other. But, they look nearly identical, sound a little similar, the both of them have a toy that they play with, the both of them are happy-go-lucky, goofy/zany, are surprising, the both of them love to play tricks on other muppets, etc. Luke could also have introduced himself to Bert. However; since Ernie and Bert are opposites, Luke and Bert may hardly get along.

3. The Muppets and the Fraggles - Kermit and Robin were the only muppets who were introduced to the Fraggles. Why weren't all the others? I especially think that the following could have met: Scooter and Red, Big Bird and Mokey, Beaureguard and Boomer, Webbly and Beaker, and Goober and Gonzo, they have similar face and body structures, or at least similar structures.

4. Oscar and Statler and Waldorf - Oscar could have introduced his girlfriend, Grungetta, to Statler, and Statler could have introduced his girlfriend, Astoria, to Oscar, if Grungetta and Astoria were both in it. Oscar could also befriend Statler and Waldorf.

5. Herry Monster could have interacted with another muppet. Since, he is friendly, inquisitive, and likes to exercise. I can see him talking to at least some other muppets, if not many. I kind of see him talking to Crazy Harry. But, I do not know which of the "Muppet Show" muppets are exactly friends, except for the main muppets.

6. Cookie Monster and Animal - I know there was a scene in which Cookie Monster took the cookies from Janice's tray, and Janice asked Animal who it was, and Animal said someone he could look up to. But, there could have been much more interaction between the two muppets.

7. I also wish that more of the muppets from "The Muppet Show" could have been in here. But, oh well.

Anyway, I am sure there are a whole list. But, this is as much as I can think of.

Muppetmonster
