View Full Version : Role Play: The 2004 Muppet Holiday Party!
Beth C
11-30-2004, 05:31 AM
Ok I've decided to try another role play. This one will be short, only lasting until Christmas or just after.
Here are the rules:
1. You can be any Muppet you want, but it has to be a Muppet. Sesame, Fraggle, Muppet, whatever :concern: but it has to be a Jim Henson creation.
2. The role play will start with the Muppets getting ready for the holiday party. Planning, organizing, decorating - There is just so much to do!
3. Keep it family realated - no wild parties or plans. ;)
4. Enjoy and have fun! We need as many people in here to make the party as Muppety as possible! However don't pick a character, post once and then don't come back! If you join the party, then please stay for the duration!
That's all.
I will be, (Like you didn't already guess) Piggy!
Role play starts on the next post!

*Looks over list*
Hmm... well, Kermie, if you want, you can go get the boxes of ornaments for the tree. They are in the storeroom under all the props. I doubt Pepe can lift them by himself.
christyb
12-01-2004, 11:05 AM
Good point. C'mon Pepe. By the way where's Scooter? I gotta couple of errands for him.
*Exits room and starts to descend stairs into the storeroom

(Humming to the tune of Jingle Bells)
Hey, where is everybody? (Looks at the hole in the ceiling) I take myself for a 10 minute walk and the whole place goes to heck.
christyb
12-01-2004, 11:50 AM
*Walks out of storage room with boxes and covered in turkey pieces.
Hey Rowlf. That's just Sweedish Chef cooking the food for the party that Piggy's planning. Gonzo and Pepe are somewhere around also. Now if you'll excuse me I gotta go call a carpenter to come and fix that hole.
Oh Boy what a mess.
christyb
12-01-2004, 02:08 PM
* On the phone
Hello, Yes this is Kermit the Frog.
-- Herman the Dog? Ok what
can I do for you Mr. The Dog
No, its Frog, Kermit the Frog.
--Hog, well why didn't you say so. Is there something I can do for you.
Forget it. Yes I would like an estimate on some repair work.
--Hmm... Let me think that'll be 1200 dollars
What!!?? You haven't even seen it
--Well then sir....
Forget it I'll fix it myself.
*Hangs up.

Beth C
12-01-2004, 05:14 PM

ALRIGHT! WHO BLEW A HOLE IN MY FRESHLY WASHED FLOOR?
*sees turkey pieces everywhere*
Hey Chef, can you try to make the refreshments without destroying the place?
*Spies Rowlf* Where have you been? Did you get those invitations mailed that I gave you? And have you seen Kermit around here? Or Pepe? Or Gonzo?
*taps foot and waits*
christyb
12-01-2004, 06:39 PM
*walks back in the room bearing supplies to fix the hole.
Oh hi Piggy. I've been busy. The ornaments are laying beside the tree for whenever Pepe has time to put them up. I called the carpenter about fixing the hole but some unfortunate news happened so I'm fixing it myself. Well I gotta get to work.
Beth C
12-01-2004, 09:45 PM
There you are Kermit. Can't you get someone else to fix that hole? You can't be late for the tuxedo fitting, my love. *Moves closer to him* Besides, I need you to hang up the mistletoe.
christyb
12-02-2004, 10:12 AM
err...*gulp* Piggy. I can't there's no one else to do it and it costs to much to do it. Don't worry I won't be late to get my tux.

DanDanStrawberry
12-02-2004, 01:11 PM

*Grabs the Chef's arm and drags him over to one side of the room*
Now, I hope you can follow simple directions. *Tears a page off her clipboard* This is a list for all the food we are going to need for the party. I need you to pick up the snacks and prepare the drinks and appetizers.
Think you can handle that?
*Glances briefly to where Kermit is working on the floor and up to the clock on the wall* Hrm....He's gonna be late.
*Suddenly remembers what Kermit said about Gonzo and mistleto*
Hey wait a minute! That wasn't very nice or loving of him.
*Glares at the frog*

*Floyd walks in*

christyb
12-03-2004, 09:04 AM
Yeah save me from the Pig. Well I gotta go for my fitting. See you later guys!
*walks out fairly quickly in order to avoid some form of pain that may be coming.
Beth C
12-03-2004, 10:09 AM
*gasps!*
Alright frog! *looks around but Kermit is gone*

*running, heavy breathing
Oh boy. I gotta sit down for a minute.
*sits and rests
Hmm....I gotta go back sometime. I think I'll wait until she's in a better mood. Sheesh, when will I keep my little froggy comments where Piggy can't hear them?
*Walks into store and begins the fitting.
Beth C
12-03-2004, 12:14 PM
*puts clipboard down and moves some boxes that need to be unpacked around*
Hmm... where did all my helpers go? I could have sworn I saw Pepe, Gonzo, Floyd and Kermit here.
*Lifts a heavy box to bring to the christmas tree*
Ugh!
*Can't see over the box, trips over the hammer and pieces of wood Kermit left on the floor*
AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
*The box of ornaments goes flying, lands hard and something inside it breaks. Piggy also falls down hard, wrenching her ankle*
OOOOOWWWW! When I get my hands on that frog he's gonna be sorry!
christyb
12-03-2004, 12:21 PM
* walks in and sees Piggy trip over the hammer.
Oh my gosh Piggy are you alright?? I could've sworn that I picked those things up. Here let me help you.
* reaches down and helps Piggy up.
While I was in town I picked up some Christmas wreaths I thought you'd might like to use.

Docnzhoss
12-03-2004, 12:53 PM
Hey, Piggy, I just sent out those invitations. Don't ask me to do it again though. I was just wrongly accused of chasing after a mailman and was banned from the post office. Hey Floyd, how about livening this place up with some carols?
Beth C
12-04-2004, 06:42 AM
*limps over to a chair and sits down*
Ow!
Thanks for mailing those, Rowlf. We have only a short time to get things ready. The party is in less than two weeks. Can you get me an ice pack for my foot?
Hey, Floyd, I really need you to go over those musical selections I chose for the party. The list is on my clipboard.
Chef, please don't cook my wreath. It wouldn't taste good. Well, maybe Animal might think it would, but I wouldn't.
*finally turns to Kermit*
You are in trouble, frog.
DanDanStrawberry
12-04-2004, 12:31 PM

Docnzhoss
12-04-2004, 02:06 PM
Here's your ice pack, Piggy. It feels good to play "doctor" again, if you know what I mean. And Chef, you are true to form and crazy as always, I like your style. I agree with Piggy though, a baked wreath is too much even for a dog.

12-04-2004, 03:26 PM
Like,oh wow,I guess I'll be Janice.Fer surely.Heya everybody. What can I do for our festivities Miss Piggy?I'm a good baker,if chef needs help in that area. I'll sing you a lively choir chorus of a Christmas carol.

Thanks, Rowlf, it feels better somewhat. You make a great 'doc'.
*looks around* Where is my clipboard? I need to see if I gave the Chef the shopping list.

*Places mug on the end of the piano.
Here's your hot chocolate Rowlf, hope you like it. Oh, and there's a plate of chocolate chip cookies there if anyone wants some too.
Thought the floor was fixed. The only reason I can think of as to why it keeps breaking like it that is that it might be our own version of Ma Bear's icy patch?
Well, gonna retire to my room now, see you guys in the morning.

Ah ha! That's 2, 2 Muppett friends fallen through the hole in the floor!
Oh sorry, my friends, I'll have you out of there in a second. No, make that 2 seconds, no 3 seconds. Oh sorry again.
*Climbs down into hole carefully and gets Kermit and Rowlf out safely.
Now then, are we gonna agree that the floor stays fixed this time? LMK and I'll take care of it. But I'd like it agreed that it'll stay fixed this time. After all, we can't keep ruining Miss Piggy's lovely home.
Uh, is there anything I can do to help out Miss Piggy?
If anyone wants some, there are a couple of plates with chocolate chip cookies next to a tray of mugs with hot chocolate here on the parlor table.
Guess I'll just count the bats I'm training for the performance at the party. Such lovely little batty beauties they are.

Are you okay, Kermie? I wouldn't want you to hurt those dancing feet of yours.
*turns to Count* If you could please fix my floor, I'd be very happy about it.
*picks up clipboard* Floyd, I need you to pass out these music sheets to every one in the band. They need to learn these songs before the party. *hands him a bunch of papers*

Hello Prairie, glad you could help us preparing for the party.
I'm sure Miss Piggy has a spot already planned for the Christmas tree. And if she should need any help, we can decorate the tree with all the lovely ornaments.
Hmm, I believe Janice is the 1 who's making the cookies. Sure hope a certain acquaitance of ours doesn't come here and gobble them all down in a heartbeat.
Does anyone need any help? If not, I'm going back to my room for a good night's sleep.

Okay everyone - The tree will be on one side of the main ballroom which is right down that hallway and to your left. It's the room that is already decorated with the lights and wreaths.
We need to get the stage set up for the band.
We need to get the ornaments up on the tree. Don't put the star up, I am saving that honor for someone special to me.
We need all the food that is getting made to be packaged and kept away from any hungry muppets or monsters until the party. We need to make sure there is enough.
Everyone needs to make sure all their shopping is done for the gift exchange at the party.
We need someone to greet the guests at the door and help them find their way into the ballroom. As hostess, I will greet them there.
We need someone to make sure this place is clean and there are fresh towels in the bathrooms.
*Looks at list on clipboard* Oh there is so much to do.

See, now that's why I said that we had to all be in agreement that the floor would stay fixed after I fixed it the last time.
Don't know how Wonkins fell through since it was already fixed. Oh well, since the adhesive caulk might create some other problems, I'll just add some quick-drying cement to smoothen the whole thing.
*Covers space on floor with a layer of cement, with help from a special bat or two.
OK, that's done, now to let it dry.
Please noone come near this space in the floor. Want to make sure it doesn't get further ruined, and want to surprise Miss Piggy with a lovely new tiled floor for her home.
*After a half-fhour...
OK, time to place the tiles.
There, now to let them stick to each other and the cement groutwork in between. And this place vill be beautiful once again.

Thanks Prairie. Now to hang a few of the ornaments I got.
First goes the Prairie Dawn Angel, place that one a bit lower from the Grover Soldier my bats.
Then comes the Miss Piggy as the Queen of Frost, a very classy and lovely little ornament. It's fitting that this one should go next to the Kermit Elf.
Then there's the Bert Nutcracker, Put that one on the side of the tree opposite of the Grover Soldier my little ones.
Next comes Janice holding a glowing menorah, think we'll have this one down the lower branches.
Got another one of a Twiddlebug on a snowflake, we'll just hang this one on the fourth branch down on the other side of the tree.
Next comes Rizzo twirling a cane made of peppermint, oh no, that's a candy cane my little ones. Put that down below the Swedish Chef Christmas Baker.
And last but not least, there's one of the Two-Headed Monster wrapped inside a giant Christmas wreath around their bodies. We'll just put this one on the other side of the tree, about at the same place where we put the one of Janice with her menorah.
There, that's 10, 10 terrific Christmas tree ornaments!

This one of Herry wearing his peppermint scarf and loaded with presents should go on the side of the tree nerar the Two-Headed Monster.

This one of Animal tangled in the Christmas lights makes me laugh. Will put that one near to the Twiddlebug Snowflake Rider.
OK, here's one of the Snowman with a triple scoop snowcone, that one goes just next to Prairie Dawn Angel towards the bottom of the tree.
And here's Floyd decked in his garlands and with a Christmas songbook, that one goes next to Janice with her Menorah.

Seeing as how Dr. Teeth hasn't made it (stuck in traffic, most likely). Someone's gonna have to get started practicing this music. My foot's still a little sore, but I can work these pedals alright. Let's get this started!
(Sits at piano and cracks knuckles)
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun!
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air!
What a bright time it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go gliding in a one horse sleigh.
Giddy up jingle horse pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a mingle in the jingling feet
That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell rock!
Aahh, that's good stuff!

One of my all-time favorite moments was when we sang "The Twelve Days of Christmas" with my main man John Denver. How's about we pay tribute to him right now and sing the song. I'll take "Partridge in a Pear Tree" and then someone else can take "Two Turtle Doves" and we'll keep it going until the song ends. Am I making any sense? Probably not but here it goes.
On the first day of Christmas
My true love gave to me,
A partridge in a pear tree.
Now someone else!

*From outside hearing singing inside...
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.
4 Calling Birds, 3 French hens, 2 Turtle Doves, and 1 Partridge in a Pear Tree!
Ah h! Good fun.
Hey guys, the Snowman did a good job clearing away all the snow. Out here, just putting up the Christmas wreath on the door frame, with edgings of Christmas lights which'll blink at night.
Hey JFS, can I borrow some of those snowflakes? Got an idea for the outer windows, from when I visited my uncle up in Connecticut a long time ago.
The corners of the window will have plastic frosted icicles! And a few snowflakes superimposed on the hexact corners and the lower trim. Got some candy cane poles to trim the sides of Miss Piggy's bay window. And the lights around the rooftop landing are already set. Sure is looking fine. Hmm, vonder if I have any more ornaments for the tree in honor of all our friends who are here. Sure hope the Chef puts his ornament back where it belongs.
Well, I'll be coming in soon, save me a mug of hot chocolate please.

Thanks Kermit, everything's finished out here.
*Enters with Super Scooter's ladder folded up in his arms.
Needed this to climb up to the rooftop landing and set up the lights. We also did some dusting and cleared away the snow up there into a little bucket we brought with us.
Decorated the chimney with a big pink ribbon and some plastic frosty snowflakes near the top of the chimney.
Gonna take a break now, looking forward to that hot chocolate. Will probably work on some writing for class later tonight if things aren't too busy around here.
*Snowman pops inside.
Hey guys, it's cold enough to freeze off your Winnebago out there!
Aaaaah. No seriously, popped in for a little warmth before going back out to my cold climate.
*Snowman hears singing and sings along.
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.

*From the Christmas tree.
8 Lords a-leaping? Always thought it was 8 Maids a-milking.
Oh well, I'll let you guys finish the song, the last five verses are somewhat confused in my mind.
Hmmm, what other ornaments do I have here for the tree? Let me see. Ah, there's one of the Penguins on ice skates with a couple of icicles stuck to their skates. Think I'll put this one next to Herry.
Then there's one of Rowlf playing the piano, covered by a light dusting of snow. So classic, will put it on the other side of Miss Piggy as the Queen of Frost.
And there's one of Mokey Fraggle as the Silver-Belled Angel. Will put this one next to the Prairie Dawn Angel.
And here's one of Boober Fraggle sittting under the mistletoe rock with his warm blanket around him. This one goes above both angels.
And here's one of Oscar with his trashcan surrounded by torn wrapping paper and ruined ribbons, makes me laugh a little. It'll go just to the left of Animal in his Christmas lights.
And there's one last ornament of Robin the Frog on the Christmas star, but I'll leave that one for Miss Piggy to give to whoever she wants to put the star on last.
That's 24 Muppet Christmas ornaments!
christyb
12-09-2004, 05:11 PM

*Stops and attaches snowflakes in the corners of the bay window and on the lower edges. Now then, what to do with the rest of them? Ah ha, I know!
*Takes snowflakes and a smaller pink ribbon and adorns the mailbox in a manner similar to the chimney. There, the outside decorations are done, sure hope Miss Piggy likes it.

Ahha! There you are Miss Piggy. Do you like the decorations? We worked on them yesterday, finished earlier today. There's the wreath and lights on the door, the window with icicles and candy cane poles, and the chimney and mailbox with ribbons and snowflakes. Nice job if I say so myself.
And did you like the ornaments on the tree? Not sure if you noticed, but there are ornaments there of all our Muppet friends, even one of you and Kermit side-by-side each other. If there's anything I can help you with, LMK and I'll do my best. Hope you have a happy holiday season.

As you can see, this ravishing red long sleeved party dress is edged with soft white fluff at the neckline and sleeves.

Ok, this holly green number is soft and flowy. It has short puffy sleeves and a rounded neckline lined with crystals. The same crystals adorn the waist and circle around to the back.

The skirt falls to mid thigh and is very full, yet a creative slit allows a little bit of leg to be shown at times.
Crystals also adorn the very bottom of the skirt, allowing for a dazzling show.

Ok, this winter white creation has a tank top bodice which serves to lift and cradle my upper regions gently. It has a softness to it that only the velvet of it can provide.
Paired with matching long gloves and pearls make me seem like a cloud on legs. The skirt drifts gently downward in soft flowing waves stopping just below the knee. Sheer stockings and white pumps complete the ensamble.

*waddles back behind the screen and grabs the next dress*
*sighs in relief as the black one comes off, then puts on the new dress and comes out*
Our fifth dress is definately one of Christmas' better designs. This red sparkly number sports a demure slightly plunging neckline and 3/4 length sleeves. The neck and sleeves are accented with earthy green satin ribbon that shines.
A sparkly sash ties around the back into a small bow that neither detracts nor spoiles the look.
*spins around*
The full circle skirt is perfect for dancing and falls just above the knee. Green underskirts add layers for a feminine look.
*spins again and a hint of green is seen*
The same green ribbon accents the bottom of the dress. Red heels complete the look, as do the red satin gloves.
*strikes a pose*

*knocking on Piggy's door* Hi Miss Piggy!Sorry I'm late in helping you pick out a dress. I was soaked from the snowball fight outside. So I needed to change. Then the Count asked me if I wanted to try some brownies.
*looking at the dresses on Miss P.'s bed* No such luck so far, huh?
How about this dark blue one with the sparkles? *holding up a dress from the closet* It looks Christmasy, and then you can put a sprig of holly in your hair. :) By the way, blue goes very well with green .It'll match somebody who is green! ;)

Sounds like the girls are having a vonderful time judging Miss Piggy's wardrobe.
Hmmm, by the sounds of it alone there's Santa Piggy, Elf Maiden Piggy, Winter Piggy, Black Ice Piggy, and Christmas Wreath Piggy.
Don't know what the last dress is especially since I'm not in there. Heh heh, just let the girls have their fun.
Just hope that a certain customizing weirdo doesn't stumble in here and read about the wardrobe in Piggy's closet.
Think I'll go to the kitchen and make some sandwiches and soup for everyone to have for lunch.

No Bo, don't go! Come back my friend, we need more Muppets here at the party.
Do you want some lunch? Or do you just want some hot chocolate? Or some cold eggnog? Ah, just sit down by the fire and join us here at Piggy's home for the holidays.

*steps behind the screen for the final time*
Are you all ready?
*makes a daring entrance*
As you can see, this one is one that will turn heads this holiday season. This crimson dress with the ruffled lace bodice is one that says 'look at me- I am woman' in many ways.
It is layered with white ruffles all the way down the dress, making one lick their lips in minty wonderment. White bows adorn the skirt as well, which falls to just above the ankles. White shoes complement the dress and red gloves highlight the arms.
*spins around* The ruffles go completely around the dress.
*strikes a pose*
Tada! So which is it, girls?

Got the basic idea for their design/appearance, just need some help planning their wardrobes. Hope to hear from you soon if at all.

OK, I'll leave the mold vith the brownies out here on the parlor table along with another batch of chocolate chip and gingerbread cookies. The strawberry eggnog's in the fridge, hope you guys like it.

Sure, let me get my wallet and coat and we can leave as soon as you guys are ready. What I'm mainly looking for are the S9 Jim Henson Muppets figures made by Palisades Toys. Wery professional company, and I keep loving their vork. So many figures to count up, and so many photos taken so far for my visual project.
Did you guys hear the big news? Not only vill they have the license to make figures in the likenesses of our friends from The Muppet Show, but they also just got the license to make figures in the likenesses of all of us from Sesame Street! Oh, the time we'll have adding and counting up our collections!
And I think you monsters will ve wery happy with the first exclusive figure to be released as their 2005 Tour figure next year, an action figure of Super Grover!
Well, we've got enough excitement here at party HQ, LMK when you're ready and we can leave to do our shopping.

Now that Miss Piggy is all done picking out her dress,I'll start praticing on my Christmas carols.
<singing>:
When Christ was born of Mary free,
In Bethlehem in that fair city,
Angels sung e'er with mirth and glee,
In excelsis gloria,
In excelsis gloria,
In excelsis gloria,
In excelsis gloria.

Time is going by so fast here that it will be party time before you know it!
*gathers up her list of things that still need doing*
Ok, we've got the tree decorated, the outside of the house is done. We've got the food ordered and gifts wrapped and under the tree.
*thinks*
We are right on schedule. The band still has to practice the christmas songs.
Hmmm.... Now we just have to keep Rizzo, Animal and the Monsters away from the food until the party starts.

Vell, didn't get the presents I was looking for, but at least I got some ideas for what to get some of my friends. Will most probably take care of it tomorrow.
Ah, the Monsters and I had a couple of pizzas after we finished shopping, so we won't be raiding the kitchen any time soon Miss Piggy. At least I hope they don't end up raiding the kitchen, you never know with that trio.
*Light chuckle.
At least my credit card payment for the last cycle's ready and vill be mailed in the morning, and I can take care of the shopping with what's left of my budget. LMK if there's anything else I can help out with here at party HQ, hope everyone has a good night's sleep.
And it's one more sleep till Christmas, and only a week away from my B-Day.

*Leads Rowlf over to his basket bed. OK, now lie down and let's get some supplies.

OK, your ears must be flooded from the snow, so... Oops, sorry, got the wrong stuff. Be fright back.
*Goes back to the bat-room and leaves earwax dissolver liquid, gets water pump instead.
OK, so we're just gonna flush out those ears of their excess liquid. Please turn over onto your right and keep the towel beneath your head.
*Pumps water into Rowlf's ear. Now lean over onto the towel so the stuff just drips out completely.
*After right ear's done, the same process is done for left ear.

That's right! And just for you I'm gonna dish out my rendition of "I Saw Three Ships".
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day, On Christmas Day
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And what was in those ships all three
On Christmas Day, On Christmas Day?
And what was in those ships all three
On Christmas Day in the morning?
Our Saviour Christ and His lady
On Christmas Day, On Christmas Day
Our Saviour Christ and His lady
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Pray whither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day?
Pray whither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas day in the morning?
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day,
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas day in the morning.
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas day in the morning.
And all the angels in Heav’n shall sing,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
And all the angels in Heav’n shall sing,
On Christmas day in the morning.
And all the souls on Earth shall sing,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
And all the souls on Earth shall sing,
On Christmas day in the morning.
Then let us all rejoice amain,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
Then let us rejoice amain,
On Christmas day in the morning.
And now, my last and final verse just for you, Count!
And a thousand bats flew overhead
On Christmas Day, On Christmas Day
And with them some good cheer they bred
On Christmas Day in the morning!

Great singing Rowlf, hope your feeling better,my friend.
It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, wherever you find love it feels like Christmas
A cup of kindess that we share with another
A sweet reunion with a friend or a brother
In all the places you find love it feels like Christmas
It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the spirit
The message if we hear it
Is make it last all year
It's in the giving of a gift to another
A pair of mittens that were made by your mother
It's all the ways that we show love that feel like Christmas
A part of childhood we'll always remember
It is the summer of the soul in December
Yes, when you do your best for love it feels like Christmas
It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the spirit
The message if we hear it
Is make it last all year
It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, wherever you find love it feels like Christmas
It's true, wherever you find love it feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas
