TV now officially beyond caricature
"One of the ideas currently being touted around
Warner Bros TV is Sex And The City Babies, an
animated version of the very adult TV show,
featuring Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte
as cartoon kindergarten cuties.
"The person pitching this was harking back to the
success enjoyed in the past by animated series such
as Muppet Babies - I think the key difference here
being that Fozzie and Kermit's original show didn't
feature Miss Piggy getting off with the other Muppets across New York.
"You may think that this idea was thrown out of
the meeting - but no. The development person
responsible has been asked to come up with six
episodes worth of storylines, an estimated budget,
a possible pilot animation crew and a list of
potential voice artists."
