Got this from starwars.com...

On November 12, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will begin the North American release of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones on DVD and VHS home video.

The first major motion picture captured and created directly from the digital source and digitally mastered by THX, the Episode II DVD allows fans the chance to relive the adventure in the way Writer/Director George Lucas meant it to be seen, with spectacular digital clarity.

Here's what the two-disc DVD set - available in both Anamorphic Widescreen (Aspect Ratio 2.35:1) and Fullscreen editions - will feature:

- Attack of the Clones, mastered directly from the digital source by THX for superior sound and picture quality, presented in Dolby 5.1 Surround EX (English) and Dolby 2.0 Surround (English, Spanish and French)

- Audio commentary by Writer-Director George Lucas; Producer Rick McCallum; Editor and Sound Designer Ben Burtt; Visual Effects Supervisors Pablo Helman, John Knoll and Ben Snow; and Animation Supervisor Rob Coleman, offering personal insights into the making of the film.

- Eight deleted scenes created for the DVD release, with introductions by George Lucas, Rick McCallum and Ben Burtt

- "From Puppets to Pixels," an all-new, full-length documentary that tracks the revolution in digital character animation, featuring the creation of the digital Yoda, Dexter Jettster and more

- "State of the Art: The Previsualization of Episode II," an all-new documentary featuring never-before-seen Animatics of Episode II

- Ben Burtt and his team explain the process of creating the sound for Episode II in the all-new documentary "Films Are Not Released; They Escape"

- Three behind-the-scenes featurettes exploring Episode II's storyline, action scenes and love story

- All 12 parts of "Making Episode II," the web documentaries that first appeared here at starwars.com

- The "Across the Stars" music video featuring John Williams

- Downloaded by millions from starwars.com, the original theatrical teaser and launch trailers, plus 12 TV spots

- Galleries of theatrical posters, print campaign from around the world, and never-before-seen production photos

- An Episode II visual effects breakdown montage from Industrial Light & Magic

- HoloNet News website

- DVD-ROM weblink to exclusive Star Wars content

Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones Special Edition VHS includes six deleted scenes and a "Star Wars Connections" featurette hosted by R2-D2 and C-3PO, who explain the Star Wars story to new fans of the series.

>>>- "From Puppets to Pixels," an all-new, full-length documentary that tracks the revolution in digital character animation, featuring the creation of the digital Yoda, Dexter Jettster and more<<<

Now thats what I wanna see! In the Episode One dvd extras, for the first time I saw Oz puppeteer Yoda, exactly how he would one of his own Muppets.

Anyways, the release date for Episode Two is quite startling...usually we have to wait years for Star Wars home releases. However, I suspect this may be due to Episode Two's less than astonishing following(While the better of the new films, it released far less hype and attention)

Yay! Episode 2 is coming out on DVD much faster than Episode 1. This time i don't have to waste my money on a VHS! Gooooo Lord Lucas! LOL!

Well, some of you know what I think about this Star Wars II business. I'll just keep quiet.

That is good news.. I can't wait to add that to my collection.
And I am happy I don't have to waste money on a VHS as well.

What's wrong with VHS tapes? They are much cheeper than DVDS! I know they are better picture and all, but come on.....they aren't evil! LOL! Just ignore me......

nothing is WRONG with VHS, it's just becoming less and less practical. apparantly this past quarter saw for the first time DVD players outselling VHS players, and the prices of the DVD's are falling all the time. even Circuit City has decided to stop carrying them altogether, as has Blockbuster. the HDTV standard is less than 10 years away, at which point VHS will become obsolete altogether. it's days are numbered...

While VHS's are cheaper, they are more expensive to make. A VHS tape is full of wheels and gears and a whole lot of plastic. They are just not practical anymore, especially with the quality a DVD has to offer.

But hey, i have no problem with all my VHS tapes. I just wish I had them all on DVD! LOL!

With big movies like Star Wars the VHS is often the same price as the DVD.

They are going to have some sort of special edition! They'll release all 3 in a boxed set, or even all 6! Talk about ripping us off LOL! I'm still angry that they're doing that with Lord of the Rings too. grrrrrr LOL :)

Ack, I cant even look at a vhs tape anymore...beyond obsolete...with the exception of tape trades and rarities, its dvd all the way. in fact, i believe a day is coming when we'll be able to vcdr(cdr) & dvd-r trade, replacing the old days of two vcrs and a blank vhs. Why, one of these days youll be able to trade a cdr/dvd-r with m@wdw, sex and violence, mv3d, heck even tinkerdee for say a sam and friends, santa cluas switch, and recent commercials.

Only if there was extra footage would I buy them. Otherwise my movies are good enough. :)

I'm glad someone told Lucas to pull his head out and put this out before Christmas...although most of my friends already have it on DVD--frequent trips to Hong Kong and copyright violators, dontchaknow...

I'll be happy to wait for the legal version. I just wish we'd see the original trilogy on DVD sometime before 2006, but doesn't sound like THAT one is going to happen--Lucas is going to wait until after Episode III, and then do some "tinkering" with the originals. Again. Ugh.

I STILL can't handle Luke's scream when he jumps into the Cloud City shaft to escape Darth Vader....why why why why why was that necessary?

Man, I'm a geek.

"No...it's not true...that's impossible! Nooooooooooo! *whimper*"

I always thought Mark Hamill's best acting job was on The Muppet Show, personally.

-Thumb Wars

Anyone who has missed this short film, is missing out on one of the funniest and oddest Star Wars parodies ever made.

Bat-Thumb is already out. I also have Blair Thumb and Thumbtanic. I think the next one is Frankenthumb followed by the GodThumb. Personally, the one I'm waiting for is Thumb Matrix.

I haven't seen ANY of the Thumb movies after seeing Star Wars--are they really that good? Should I bother tracking them down?

What about Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? Haven't seen that either.

Recommendations/Non-Recommendations?

Out of the loop.

Not a big Kevin Smith fan. I'm going to stick to my opinion of Mark gargling on The Muppet Show being the highlight of his career.

None of them are as good as Thumb Wars, though each have their moments. Thumbtanic would probably be my second favorite just for the moment when the giant Tarantula attacks the boat. But hey, for $10 a DVD I don't need an instant classic every time.

Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back: Mark Hamill's cameo just disturbed me. However, Will Farrell's role and several other cameos made up for it. The main thing is that you really have to be familiar with Kevin Smith's other movies to enjoy this film.

Personally, I don't particularly care for most of Smith's movies. However, I *really* enjoyed the Clerks Animated series and was sorry to see it pulled off the air before it had the chance. There's a 2-disc DVD that has all the episodes.

The pulp fiction dvd comes out next week I will have to get that.

And we got all those dvds coming out in september.

Death to smoochy, Monsters Inc, that we will have to get and watch. We should watch a beautiful mind again too.

Anyone know when Monsters INC is coming out on DVD? I'm guessing around Halloween, but anyone know? I'm too lazy to go on a hunt.

I like Kevin Smith's movies, and I do really want to see the toon--but he is definitely an affected, acquired taste. I just read his Green Arrow hardback comic book, and it was very well written, but again, a very specific style. Sometimes I like it, sometimes it's a tad annoying. I still like his stuff though.

Because sometimes I'M a tad annoying.

Very nice.

MAN I hope I get to be a millionaire. Between the DVDs, Muppet figures, and Lego, I could blow it all in a year.

And THAT my friend, is when Melissa and Miles would hit the road.
