Bill: It does Marty. Have you finished reading your latest volume of Reader's Digest Condensed Books yet?

Marty: Almost Bill. I've only got a little bit left to go then I'll be ready to start a new one.

Bill: You must really enjoy them. You've read at least 15 straight through cover to cover.

Marty: You bet Bill. I think they're good for short stories. Well they're not really short short stories but they're definitely short compared to the original versions. They do a superb job in editing the books down in such a way that it's shortened up while still retaining the flow of the story continuity perfectly.

Bill: I'm glad you have an interest that gives you pleasure Marty. Reading is very good for your mind as well.

Marty: True. Exercises your mental capacity. Which reminds me I must watch the Vet's Hospital sketches on my Season 1 Muppet Show dvds and try to get inspiration to finish off my script with Hilda as the patient.

Bill: Your Tim Brooke-Taylor script again eh? I hope you can finish it eventually.

Marty: Yes Bill. I also must re-submit my other script with Harry Secombe soon as well with the improved changes. I've put all my heart into my two Muppet Show season one outlines. To flesh them out into perfect scripts is my big dream in life.

Bill: You'll do it Marty. I have faith in you.

But please, I've been instructed by Catherine his roommate to keep this a secret from the affable amphibian. If you want to help, please talk to Cath in Room #20. The second floor common room and lobby if necessary will host the party. Everybody's invited, if you can make it that is. Birthday presents and cards are to be dropped off at the 2nd floor common room's storage closet. Try your best not to let Kermit know what's going on. We want him to be thoroughly surprise at the party later tonight.

Vell. The frog decorations are vhat ve're hanging up now. Cath's the one you should go talk to about helping out vith the party preparations. Although. Ve do need someone strong and experienced at beating a flat surface to pound out the balloons.
*Reveals a bunch of balloons with a sort of matlike form.
These vill line the ceiling and valls, as a sort of tube liner turning the room into a rubber room, perfect for hopping and bopping the night avay. You think Animal vould.

Kermit: Oh! Wow! How, um, interesting. It's a little green, um, toothbrush?
Catherine: No, silly. It's an Ipod. You play music on it.
Kermit: Where do you put the discs?
Catherine: Oh. Um, there aren't any discs. (Looks at Piggy and Fozzie helplessly.) Are there?
Fozzie: I don't think so.
Piggy: No. There are not any discs. You download the music into it from the computer.
Kermit: How cool! (To Catherine) Maybe you can show me how tomorrow, hum?
Catherine: Well, better let Piggy or Scooter or somebody a little more technologically savvy than me.
Kermit: (dryly) You don't know how it works either, huh?
Catherine: I do so! I, you know, understand how it works. I just don't know how to do it. But Piggy will help you, won't you dear?

Kermit: It's a "Build your own swamp" kit. Just add water. See--you can make one in any conventional bathroom. Wow--wait until the rest of our dormies sees this!
Catherine: (a little alarmed) Um, maybe you should open Fozzie's gift now and save that for later.

Fozzie: (whispering to Catherine) I did just what you said! I know he'll like it!
(Kermit opens the package and looks at the book inside a little quizzically. Catherine looks a little quizzical herself, and she and Kermit exchange glances.)
Kermit: Gee, Fozzie. It's um--(opens the flyleaf, appropriately enough!). Oh, Fozzie--is this, is this the one I signed for you earlier?
Fozzie: (proudly) Yes!
(Catherine and Kermit exchange glances, but Piggy signs dramatically and rolls her big, blue eyes.)
Piggy: Don't tell me--you suggested Fozzie get Kermit a book by one of his favorite authors.
Catherine: Um, I did. In fact, I even suggested that he.oh. Oh. (tries to compose face, as does Kermit. They cannot look at each other for fear of bursting out laughing.) I even suggested that Fozzie see if he could get it signed.
Fozzie: (pleased with himself) And I did! Right there--see? Kermit signed it for me this afternoon!
(Kermit looks at his very own autographed copy of "Before You Leap" and smiles at Fozzie.)
Kermit: Gee, thanks Fozzie. It's a pretty super birthday present just knowing that I'm one of our favorite authors. Well, I think I've had about all the birthday celebrating I can stand, so--
Gonzo: (bursting through the door) Kermit! Kermit! Come quick! There's something amazing happening in the second floor common room! Hurry! You won't believe your little bulbous eyes! (runs out)
(Kermit looks at his roomies, who are not--quite--looking at him, and then stands up hurriedly.)
Kermit: (sighing) I guess we'd better go. Probably another profile of Elvis out of mold or something.
Catherine: (choking a little) Probably. C'mon--let's all go!
(Kermit and Fozzie lead the way, with Piggy and Catherine following. There is a great deal of hi-fiving and dancing in the hallways on the way.)

Marty: Well a little bit of bad and good news. She had a flare-up in one shoulder but it's not the cancer. It's a blood clot.

Bill: That's great that the cancer hasn't re-appeared. But what about the blood clot?

Marty: Well she tells me the family doctor said it is inside the muscle itself. So at least we shouldn't have to worry about it travelling freely through the bloodstream. It should stay put in her muscle. Somebody has been gracious to her and I indeed.

Bill: So all we have to wait for is how they can treat it eventually. But there's nothing to immediately worry about. So let's thank Him with some bubbles.

Marty: Yes Mummy needs all the support we can give her. She is in His hands.

Also wondering if you have any ideas what sort of monster or mythic being Wanda could be transformed into. The best I could come up with was Bastedt from Egyptian theology. Just LMK if you have any suggestions. Might have to talk to you again about the plans for my own numbered writings.

Well... Maybe you know of some places to search that might yield better results. Went to www.pantheon.org myself, got some possibilities, but they were mostly male cat creatures. Other than Bastedt, the Cheshire Cat or Dinah (Alice's cat) or a Sphinx or maybe a Werepanther are the only other ones I have available. But I'll wait to hear from you as this could possibly help the plans.

Because of the limited number of spooks and ghouls, (yes, I use the term "limited" even though I have about a hundred master monsters based on Muppets), I think that maybe it would be better to go back to the harem of bats. Gotten a few good ideas from ZootyCutie... Guess I'm still rully undecided which path to pursue.
Oh well, hope to hear from you soon big cousin.

Marty: She's had biopsies done and is waiting for the results to come back but she and I are both positive it's not cancer again.

Marty: Yeah Bill. We've got lots of titles we can watch together and then there's music to listen to when we want a change. Especially the music I've downloaded off of Muppet Musique website.

Nora: Visited Abbey Road, signed our names on the wall...and watched a group of silly tourists try to do the walk over the zebra crossing...and at the Hard Rock Cafe in Edinburgh, you sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" with the waiter...
MN: Why not, we had Freddie Mercury's picture hanging on the wall over our table. Let's see...visited the statue of Sherlock Holmes on Baker Street, and the museum there...met for ice cream in the Muppets' favorite cycling park...found some of Richard's favorite flowers in the Royal Botanic Gardens...
Storyteller: And someone needs to tell Wembley that in west London, there's a big, very important stadium named after him.
MN: Then again, might be the other way around...and passed near Knebworth House on Friday, on the train out of London...and I could have sworn I saw Richard flying out to the house with a packed suitcase.
