Ryan: Well I don't see why-
Robin: Whoopie! Okay, c'mon!!
Ryan: *walks down to the lobby* Hey everybody! Can we have your attention?!
Robin: Please?
Ryan: Thank you. Now, as you all know, Robin and I have been hard at work wrapping presents for all of you.
Robin: Yup! And we had a great time!
Ryan: That we did. Anyway, for each and every one of you, we constructed a photo frame with something that represents each and every one of you!
Robin: Each of your individual personalities, and your room mates' personalities!
Ryan: Merry Christmas gang!

Bry: Hey, Big Bird! I think there's a special present outside for ya.
Big Bird: Outside?
Bry: Well, it's too big to be wrapped, let's put it that way.
Ernie: Maybe it's a truck!
Telly: Or a dinosaur!
Ernie: Khekhekhe!
Big Bird: I guess there's only one way to find out. Gee, I wonder what it could be. (opens door to find a familiar figure) Snuffy!!!
Snuffy: Hey, Bird! Did I miss anything?!
Big Bird: Oh, Snuffy! I can't believe you're here!
Snuffy: I couldn't have a Christmas without seeing my best friend.
Big Bird: You're right about that!
Snuffy: Merry Christmas, Bird!
Big Bird: Aww...Merry Christmas, Snuff.

Bear: Ooh, a rhyme. And, man does this Christmas food smell good! Mind if I take a nip?
Bo: *frowns* Has anyone seen Bean since we put the turkey in the oven?
Bobo: Nope.
Beau: No-ope.

Meanwhile...outside Layla's room, a small adorable cute cute cute bunny stands with a green bow behind his back.

Bean: I know that secret santa's are meant to wait until Wednesday, but this present is TOO cute to wait until everything is priced down to 40%. 40% the cuteness just wouldn't do for this...*rings bell* *nothing* *leans on bell* Oh! Layla, hi, is...er...Jimmy there? *waits, then* Hi Jimmy. *giggle* Listen, I know that you are an old, lonely, loony, sad man with no friends and not an ounce of niceness in you...so I thought that I should share the true spirit of Christmas with you by giving a gift unsurpassed! *turns around and ties ribbon around ears* Tah-DAH! Merry Chrsitmas from a cute widdle bunny rabbit, here to teach you what it means to be merry and cheerfull. For a month, you get ME ME ME ME ME to be right at your side, always ready to guide you. *HUGE cute eyes and HUGE cute ribbon around ears* Merry Christmas from your secret, me!...so, what do you say?

(gang has been out celebrating with respective families; now all are back in room 7)

Nora: So you've got a new laptop? Sweet...
MN: Yeah, my old one's been having difficulties lately, so I get to start the semester off with a new one. I just never realized that Bluetooth was so picky...
Nora: To err is human, to really foul things up takes a computer.
MN: I also got some books, some nice-smelling shower gel and a shoulder bag with a map of the London Underground on it.
Storyteller: Well! I spent a glorious three-day weekend down by the Whistling Caverns with my family...as for presents, I have a lovely new Nirvana tree fiber cape, some new shower gel from the Squeaky Caverns...and look here, I received this beautiful pendant, taken from the Bluerock.
Nora: Wow. Bluetooth, Bluerock...my grandmother gave me a blue sweater. And my dad's been teaching me to play chess, so he gave me a computer chess game.
MN: Lemme guess. It's called Deep Blue.
Nora: Uh-huh.
Storyteller: And Richard got his AIDS quilt...which reminds me, Erin, have you...
MN: I'll get to it soon, I promise!

Leyla
12-25-2006, 06:31 PM
Leyla: Whew! Alright, everyone ready?

<They are gathered around the little Christmas tree, all of them... except Robot Kermit. All are dressed in their holiday best, with Robot Piggy particularly resplendant in a bright red, V-neck, knee length dress, embroidered with golden thread. It was borrowed from Miss Piggy. Her hair is pinned back, loosely draped over her shoulders and there is a sprig of mistletoe tucked beside her left ear. Robot Piggy remains entirely unaware that she has a winder sticking out of her back. Miss Piggy remains entirely unaware of the accommdating hole Leyla cut in the dress to allow Robot Piggy to wear it. She is not looking forward to either of them discovering these facts.>

Wanda: Oh yes, we're ready.

Hilda: <dryly> As ready as we'll ever be.

Robot Piggy: Moi looks stunning...let's get the show on the road already!

Robot Kermit: <faintly, pathetically, from his closet> Is it morning yet? Can I come out now? Please? I promise I'll be good.

Leyla: <apologetically> Oh, yes, Kermit dear... I'm sorry to keep you in there so long... we have a surprise for you, though!

RK: <giving new dimensions to the word pathetic> Is the surprise that you're not going to let me out, or that you are?

Leyla: Neither, neither! I mean, yes, I'm going to let you out, right this very-

<She is interrupted by a knock at the door>

Leyla: Oh dear... just another minute dear... <she answers the door, then calls out to Jimmy.> It's Bean, looking for you, Jimmy. Make it quick please... poor Kermit's been stuck in there for way too long as it is.

Hilda: <petulantly> well, if it hadn't taken soooo long for her royal highness here to get ready...

Robot Piggy: <coolly> Some of us believe in doing more than just throwing on any old thing.

Leyla: That's enough of that, ladies. Besides... it's not Robot Piggy's fault that it took so long. We needed to cut- <she breaks off abruptly, flushing pink>

Wanda: Yeah, of course it's gonna take forever if you have to maneuver all that fabric over that big, wide-

<Robot Piggy takes this as you might expect>

RP: Hiiiii-yah! <She sends Wanda to the floor in a classily attired heap>

Hilda: <sotto voce to Jimmy> Wanda, before the end of the first day... who won the pool?

Jimmy: <turning from the door and pulling out a notebook> Ah, let's see here...hmm...we've got...looks like it were that Swedish fellow who does all that gobbledy gook with the cookin' called it. Women's work if you ask me-

Hilda: <firmly> I didn't.

Wanda: <groggily> Did I win the pool?

Hilda: No.

Wanda: Rats.

Hilda: Not them either. Chef won.

Robot Kermit: <hopefully> I think there's an air vent in here, maybe I can-

Leyla: No! No, no, I'm coming! <she gives up waiting for Jimmy to finish his conversation and races to the closet door, unlocking it and sliding it open.> There you go, Robot Kermit, free at last! Now, come and meet our new roommate,-

Jimmy: <triumphantly> Bean Bunny! Fer a whole month!

<Everyone in the room spins around to stare at Jimmy, who has tucked the notebook away and has a friendly armed draped over Bean>

Robot Kermit: <uncertainly> Well, this is ah... this is certainly a... surprise.

Leyla: <pale faced> Uh... <laughs nervously> Yes... a... surprise, heh.

Bean: Oh, isn't this SO cute! A surprise party to welcome my surprise! ME!Yippee! <He launches into the most painfully saccharine version of "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" imaginable.>

Robot Piggy: <having exhausted her tolerance for this about thirty seconds before it started.> If that thing is staying, then moi am leaving!

Leyla: <hurriedly> He's not, he's not! I'm sorry, Bean I appreciate the offer but-

<Robot Kermit has caught sight of Robot Piggy>

RK: <quietly> Oh, hey there, Miss Piggy... uh... it sure is nice to... um... see you're feeling better enough to visit us.

Robot Piggy: <staring at him like he might vanish> Oh... it's you again... <wistfully> Still taken?

RK: <confused> Uh...um... <He steps forward, then stops>

RK:<brightly> Don't worry, I uh... there's no mistletoe, this time. I promise, I'll keep my hands to myself.

Robot Piggy: <sighs> Of course.

<Leyla and all the others are distracted with trying to part Jimmy and Bean... both are near tears at the thought of being separated.>

RK: Am... am I allowed to tell you, you look nice?

Robot Piggy: <brightening> Yes, if that's the best vous have got.

RK: <cautiously hopeful> You, uh... you look n...you look wonderful.

Robot Piggy: <preening> Why thank you, Kermie... vous look very handsome.

Robot Kermit: <clearly perplexed by her flirting> Uh, I- <he pauses, a light bulb coming on (for the record... not literally)> Oh... um, Miss Piggy, I'm not Kermit, I'm Robot Kermit. <wistfully> See? I'm not trying to trick you anymore.

Robot Piggy: <tilting her head> Robot Kermit? You're not the Kermit who belongs to Miss Piggy?

RK: <ruefully> Nope... I... I'm not yours...wish I were...<quickly> but I'm not!

Robot Piggy: <smiling very slowly> So, vous are Robot Kermie. Well, Robot Kermie... moi am Robot Piggy, and moi belongs to no one... and no one belongs to moi... yet.

RK: <processes that for a second> <excessively casually> Oh, really?

Robot Piggy: <not remotely casual> Oh... really.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Leyla: Jimmy, Bean... please, please stop crying. Listen, it's not that we don't like the idea of having you around, but there's only so much closet space and with Robot Piggy getting settled that's... that's not going to last long and- <They wail even louder>

Hilda: <firmly> Bean Bunny, stop that caterwauling this instant. It's not cute at all!

Bean: <startled> It's not?

Hilda: And Jimmy, settle down and I'll make you some hot chocolate.

Jimmy: <sniffling> With the little marshmellows?

Hilda: Yes... in fact, why don't we all have some hot chocolate. You can't live here, Bean, but perhaps you can visit.

Bean: Really?

Hilda: Maybe... we'll talk. Now into the kitchen, both of you. Wanda, will you grab a few mugs?

<Wanda leads the boys into the kitchen, Hilda and Leyla hang back for a second>

Leyla: <gratefully> Oh, bless you Hilda.

Hilda: Call it a Christmas present, why don't you?

Leyla:<visibly weary> Now I can finally introduce Robot-

<Hilda stops her with a gentle tug on her sleeve and nods towards where Robots Kermit and Piggy are talking. He reaches up suddenly and gives her mistletoe a playful little tweak.>

Robot Piggy: <smiling> Watch the hair, frog.

Hilda: They seemed to have introduced themselves.

Leyla: <slowly cheering up> So they have. I'll have to let Ru know how it went. I think... I think it's-

Hilda: It's a very merry Christmas day.

Leyla: Yeah... it sure is.

Hilda: <looking into the kitchen> Jimmy! You get away from that turkey! Back to work then.

Leyla: <eyeing the two lovebirds... though neither of them are, in fact, birds> Yep... they've got things well in hand out here. <They head into the kitchen>

*In Room 19 Boober, Betty Lou and Tosh are all in bed already*
Kim: Wow, I can't believe it. They're all in bed already.
Gillis: Well, we've all had a long day; they're tired. And they are just kids, after all.
Kim: Well, fuddy-duddy, what does that make us? You're definately not qualified to be the World's Oldest Fraggle.
Gillis: *flattered* Thank you.
Kim: *chuckling* You ham. Well, since they've already exchanged their gifts, I guess its time for us to do the same. *hands him a package* Merry Christmas, Gil.
Gillis: Merry Christmas, Kim. *opens his gift* Oh, my goodness...a carrying case for my baton! This is wonderful!
Kim: Thought you'd like that. *opens her present* Oh, Gillis you didn't have to do this! *pulls out several pieces of sheet music for clarinet*
Gillis: Well, I know how much you like to play...I just thought you'd want something to play other than scales all the time. Merry Christmas, Kim.
Kim: Merry Christmas, Maestro.

Sorry it took me sooooo long to get back here Count. Wasn't able to get much to eat at the party back home, only some of my mom's great garbanzo soup.
Count: That's all fright Ed, I understand.
Yeah well... Looks like we'll have to leave the commentary for tomorrow. If we even get here, since we have all our Muppet videos to watch.
Count: Ah, how I count the moments to sitting down and vatching some good old home movies. Oh, did you check that stocking hung next to the furnace mouths?
Me: What furnace?
Count: The one that's fright next to the vindows, between the microwave cauldron containment unit and the skellevision entertainment center.
Me: Nope, wasn't even aware there was a stocking hanging there.
Count: Vell, I'd adwise you check there tomorrow morning, might be a gift left there you haven't found yet.

Oh OK... Pleasant screams and happy Christmas.
Count: Thank you Edvard and merry Christmas to you too.

(Fozzie Bear comes running down the hall, flings open the door to room 20 and dashes inside. He leans, panting, against the door, in obvious terror. Catherine walks over to put a hand on his arm.)
Fozzie: Ahhhhh! Oh--it's you. (nervously) Um--it is you, right, Ru, um, Catherine?
Catherine: It's me, Fozzie. What's the matter?
Fozzie: (whispering) Um, I think I've slipped into some sort of alternate universe. Did you fall through the opening, too?
Catherine: Um, is someone serving, um, grown-up eggnog here in the dorms?
Fozzie: No--it's just--ahhh! (pointing and staring over Catherine's shoulder) Ahhhh!
(Catherine looks around and sees Piggy and Kermit behind her. Fozzie continues to look frightened.)
Catherine: Honey, it's just Piggy and Kermit. What's wrong?
Fozzie: But, but I--I just SAW them--right across the hall--in Layla's room. They were, um, (indistinct mumble).
Kermit: What?
Piggy: Who?
Fozzie: Um, you guys. You were, um, kissing. But--but now you're here, and there, and I don't even know if I'm me.
Catherine: (With a oopsie-face at Kermit and Piggy) Um, Fozzie, it's okay. That wasn't our Kermit and Piggy. This is our Kermit and Piggy.
Fozzie: No? (whispering) Then who were they?
Catherine: Um, do you remember Robot Kermit?
Fozzie: Yesssss.
Catherine: Well, um, you know about the recent unpleasantness in our room because of what happened when Robot Kermit tried to take Kermit's place here?
Fozzie: (hat over face) I remember.
Catherine: Um, so we wanted to do something that might prevent that sort of thing from happening again so, well, we, um, had Dr. Honeydew and Beaker put together a Robot Piggy. Now Robot Kermit has-- (breaks off at a hard look from Piggy) --has a friend, that is, another robot friend who seems well-suited to.... (trails off in surprise, and then a big goofy smile breaks across her face) And they were kissing?!
Fozzie: Uh hum.
(Immediately, Fozzie has to flatten himself against the wall as three excited bodies hurl themselves out the door to peek around the doorframe diagonally across the hall. Everybody says "ahhh" and then trails back to room 20.)
Catherine: Wow--that worked a lot better than I hoped.
Piggy: (eying Kermit with something akin to dissatisfaction) That happened a lot faster than I expected.
Kermit: (indignantly) Hey--what's that supposed to mean?
Piggy: (sailing past him toward the tree with an impish look) All I'm saying is that somebody seems to have all of his circuits firing--and somebody doesn't.
Kermit: Oh yeah? Well come over here and I'll show you a thing or two.
(Laughing, they proceed to chase each other around the tree for some moments. This argument has a forgone conclusion, and while they are getting to the part where they stand with their arms around each other under the mistletoe and kiss, Catherine takes Fozzie over to the kitchen and pours them each a cup of cocoa.
Catherine: So, you feeling better now that classes are over?
Fozzie: Yes! I was so worried about my final in Advanced Heckler Defense Strategy, but it actually seemed to go okay.
Catherine: (looking quickly away) Do tell?
Fozzie: (sitting at the table) Well, you know how nervous I was about my routine, right?
Catherine: (sympathetically) I remember.
Fozzie: And I was so worried that I was going to get nervous and be terrible. But when I came out to do my exam routine, all of my classmates were there in the auditorium, too. I thought it was just going to be me and the professors, but everyone was there to support me. And everybody got a chance to vote on how I did.
Catherine: And you did okay?
Fozzie: (looking down for a moment) Well, they laughed at some of my jokes, and they clapped when it was over. And half of our grade is based on how much we had improved. (whispering) I think I improved a lot.
Catherine: Of course you did! Fozzie, I'm so proud of you!
Fozzie: Gee, thanks. You know, there's just one thing that seemed funny to me.
Catherine: (nervously) Um, what was that?
Fozzie: I was really nervous about these professors, but it's almost like there were different people in the sound booth that day.
Catherine: (choking on her hot chocolate) *coff* *coff* Oh! *coff* I'm sure it was just because you were nervous. I'm sure they weren't, you know, tied up in their office or anything.
Fozzie: Aaaahhhh! Good one! Wocka wocka! You know, I guess Christmas wishes do sometimes come true.
Catherine: (looking toward the living area, where all sounds of fighting have ceased) Yeah. It sure looks that way. So--you want some more tofu and stuffing? I made gravy!
Fozzie: Definitely!
Catherine: (bending to plant a kiss on Fozzie's fuzzy head) Merry Christmas, Fozzie.
Fozzie: Merry Christmas, Catherine.

Downstairs, in Room #1, the Count von Count is fast asleep wearing his bat-print pajamas, dreaming of all the numbers he's counted as they dance in his head past happier visions of sugar plums and blood oranges.

Meanwhile, in the other bed in Room #1...
Hmmm, sounds like those new robot romantics were occupied in one of the yet vacant rooms. Guess they wanted some privacy.

The thoughts of the owner of this room turn back to what his vampire bunkmate said as to a certain stocking.
Furnace? The Count must be dream projecting again, there's no furnace here... Much less a Christmas stocking.

Ed's ruminations turn to the poster of Autumn up on the wall next to his bed, longing for the day they shall meet in Vegas making it a very merry Christmas indeed. His hands swing out slowly, as if in a move of resignment and find placed there on the wall...
Hullo? What's this? Hmmm, this must be the stocking he was talking about.

Eduardo takes the stocking off of its secured spot to inspect the calcetin's contents.
Never noticed that there before. Someone must've...
His hands trace along the top furrysome fringe of white, finding a message in stitched lettering jutting out ever so slightly from the stocking's body. The cryptic clue reads "Santa Baby".
Now why would that...

At that moment, two enchanting eyes awaken, a tuft of perfectly coiffed blonde hair rising from within the stocking. The full female figure of one of those little batty ornament pushes itself upwards seeking the refreshing nourishment of renewed air, her wings pinned back and prominent physique adding to her innate alluring qualities. She starts to sing softly in a voice matching her hairstyle and her tantalizing talents, the satin of her gloves plainly popping the two top buttons of the master's nightshirt.

Bat-girl, singing: ...
Santa Baby.
Slip me something under the tree.

*Cooingly spoken: I've been an awful good girl.
*Sung once again, in a low quiet chancion: ...
So come on Santa Baby.
And hurry *down* the chimney tonight.

At this point, the beautiful batty baubble has snuggled herself inside Ed's sleeping suit, cozied up against his chest, the sheerness of her negligee and the roundness of her chest palpable against his own beating body. Her wings calmly flap a few times, whether she's cooling things down or gently warming his heart is open to debate.
Finally, she tilts her head upwards fixing him with a coquettish knowing look, whispering...
"Hurry..."
The visitor then glances sideways briefly without taking her peepers off of the main occupant living in the first room of the dormhouse and finishes the thought.
"Tonight", she utters in her vamp voice as she then leaves her receiver breathless with a well-won kiss before nestling her head down against his pounting blood pumper. The two fall into a most desirable blissful slumbering state.

Already up, been so for a while now, the stocking and it's bat comfortably resting up on the wall where they were both found last night.

So Bear's gone back to Woodland Valley. Well, was nice having him around for the time he was here. Wonder when Kathy and Sis will be back, should be here by tomorrow for the exchange. *Sighs, OK, off to do some commentary in the reading room. Count, would you like to join me?

Hmmm... You know, I might just end up scheduling the exchange for later anyway. We could do it in order of room numbers, but that would mean my roomies would go first, something we'd only agree to if you guys think we should be the first to hand out gifts. Wanted to do this alphabetically, but my next-door neighbors seem to have gone out at the moment. Maybe when there are more people here, we'll see what happens as the day goes on. Just get all your presents wrapped and piled together, the exchange will happen... Just not sure where and I'm not sure just when.
Sorry, slipped into a song cue there.
Count: Need help getting out?
*Sigh, if Lisa were here to appreciate the insanity randomness of a joke like that...

See ya guys, knock if you need me, will be watching the DVD's I got.

Jimmy: <anxiously> Bunnies? Where?
Leyla: It's an expression, Jimmy... it means we gotta vamoose.
Jimmy: Ah, well. You gotta remember ah'm used to them technical, high falooting vocabularities.
Leyla: <smiling fondly> My mistake, Jimmy dear. Now, get your presents ready quickly now... we all slept right through that earlier deadline.
Hilda: Do we have any ribbons?
Leyla: Yep, junk drawer in the kitchen.
Hilda: Thanks!
Leyla: Wanda, are you set?
Wanda: Just about!
Leyla: Robot Kermit, are you se- <she sighs> Kermit, let go of Piggy, will you? You need to get ready for the gift exchange!
RK: <distracted> Oh, I did that ages ago. I don't even remember what I got who.
Robot Piggy: Gee, what could have possibly made you forget?
<much giggling and twittering between them>
Hilda: Gag me... or gag them. Gag somebody.
Leyla: Yeesh. I hoped they'd be happy. I didn't realise they'd be this happy! Knock it off you two, or I'm turning a hose on you, and goodness knows what would happen then.
Robot Kermit: <still giggling> I know what would happen. The sparks would fly!
Robot Piggy: I don't need any help to make that happen. C'mere you.
<many beleaguered moans from the other occupants of room 18.>
Hilda: <softly> The real pair of them don't usually get along this well... what's with them?
Leyla: I don't know... maybe it's a robot thing. Maybe Doctor Honeydew did something to Robot Piggy... maybe we should be waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Um guys, there's been a slight delay with a few of the other residents here... So we'll be doing the exchange later tonight, say around 8 PM? That work for everybody?
Various mumblings rise from the crowd.
"Like, I've got a hair appointment..."
"My Uncle Matt's expecting us down in the Rock."
"Will there still be cookies there?"
"Better check with the boss about this."
"Aw man... And here I had a date..."

Fright, eightish it ish. Oh, and we'll be doing the exchange alphabetically, just to be fair.
So Beth, try to keep that little fairy godchild of yours entertained till then. If she needs a nap that's OK, just hope to see you here back at Floor 2's common room tonight.

At least I've only got one last disc of Old School SS to go.
Count: Enjoyed it so far?
Yes, greatly... Though DVD's rully aren't made for people with visual handicaps to watch them properly.
Count: Vhat's the problem?
I keep getting messed up with all the menus and trying to find what it is I want to watch. That's why I prefer getting it on simplistic VCD's like the ones from Justin F instead.
Count: Oh, I see.

Abby: I have Bryan. He's a nice guy, he took care of me when Beth was gone awhile back and I think he's really neat. He is an actor, which means he's a star, so for Christmas I got him these special things.

Bo: Who did you get, Beau?
Bobo: Actually, I got him, and Beau transfered.
Beau: Yeah, well, I wanted him in the beginning...
Bo: WHO!???

Beau: I got Uncle Deadly. We don't speaky often, but you are very much like me. We both come from differential dimensions other than those which are the normal dimensions, and we are both alone in the universe. 12-27-2006, 07:06 PM
Well, as a matter of fact... Yes, there are several B's left to go through.
First up's Bert, but Bryan said they'd be here later tonight.
After that's Beth, I'm not sure if she's here or not. She must be using that invisible mode spray Christy uses from time to time.
Then it's Betty Lou, who's out at the moment with Kim.
Next comes Big Bird, who's playing with Snuffy in the park under Bryan's watch.
Then it's your turn Bo, and Bobo's after that.
Finally, it'd be Bryan who'd get to hand his Secret Santa their gift.

That's all for now, I think we can wait a little while to get all of these sorted out first. So go ahead Bo, unless Beth shows up first.

MN: That's okay, Storyteller, you can give the creative juices a rest for tonight. Just sit back and enjoy yourself.

Big Bird: I was at the park playing with Snuffy and then we stopped for an ice cream. Did we miss anything?
Ernie: The B's.
Big Bird: Bees?! Oh good, cuz you know I'm allergic.
Bry: Are you?
Big Bird: I dunno...but stingers hurt!
Bry: Ah.
Ernie: No, I meant the letter B. Your name starts with the letter B.
Big Bird: I know that.
Ernie: No, Big Bird. It's your turn to hand out your Secret Santa gift!
Big Bird: Oh! Well, why didn't you say so? (giggles) Well, I was supposed to give a present to Miss Storyteller Fraggle. I don't really know her very well yet, but I know that she likes to tell stories and I love hearing stories. So, I got her this beautiful journal and a feather quill pen, made from one of my very own yellow feathers, for her to write more beautiful stories and read them to me when she's done. Hope you like it, Storyteller. Oh, and also this little bag of chocolate covered birdseed. I made it myself. Merry Christmas! Storyteller? Hello?
Bry: I think she went to bed, Big Bird. We must have just missed her.
Big Bird: Oh, rats! Now what?
Bry: I guess you'll just have to give the present to her later.
Big Bird: Later? Do I have to do that whole speech again?!
Bry: (laughing and patting him on the beak) Don't worry about it.
Big Bird: Okay...
Bry: Well, my name begins with the letter B too, so I guess I'll just go next. This present goes to one of my best friends at the dorms--Kyle. He's been my buddy here for a long time and we always have fun playing around here together along with our roomies. He's always taking such great care of my roommates when I'm away, just like I always enjoy having the blue monsters over. And Kyle always knows how to handle that Grouch! He's a true Sesame Street fan like me and Ed. Kyle, I'd like to give you 2 DVDs--Don't Eat the Pictures and Sesame Street Celebrates Around the World, and an annual passport to the Sesame Place amusement park. Enjoy, buddy! (gives kyle the present, then goes over and kneels next to Abby) By the way, Abby...I absolutely love the star you made me! It's wonderful! I'll be using it soon! For now, maybe I'll put it on my room door here. Also, I think you're very nice too and you are welcome to our room any time. (gives Abby a hug)
Ernie: Okay, Bert...you're next! Bert?!
Bert: (rushes in) Sorry. I was on the phone with my Uncle Louie. He's a talker!
Ernie: It's your turn, Bert.
Bert: Oh! (clears throat) Ahem...I am here to give a present to my friend the Cookie Monster. Now, I realize that he is quite possibly the easiest to shop for because we all know his favorite thing is cookies. However, I have decided to go outside the box, as they say, and get him some things a little different to expand his menu a little. I have made some bran muffins, zuchini bread, and an assortment of deliciously sweet and healthy fruits and vegetables!! (silent pause in the room) ...... (under his breath) and there's cookies in here too. (holds out the big square box) Here you go, Cookie.

Beau: I have no ideals.

Bo: What's your idea?
Bobo: No...idea, not ideals.

Bo: *brain hurt* Ok, I'll go first. I have Christy B, my 'kinda' room mate since that whole hole in the wall thing went on. She's always been a GREAT friend and I have a few things here that might help advance her dreams...there's a box of lenses, not contacts, for her new camera. And I was down the tip the other day when I found this old reel-to-reel camera. *pulls a sheet of a tripod to reveal a camera exactly like Rowlf's from TMM* Thought you'd like it.

Bo: The one I picked for you.
Beau: The one I had.
Bean: I didn't!

Bo: Remember, you were worried because you didn't think you new anyone around here...
Bobo: Oh, yeah.
Bo: So I said, what about such-and-such, and then Beau wanted such-and-such so you got whats-her-name.

Bobo: *scratches head* Thanks for the help. Eventually...*reads from a piece of paper* I got Kim. *reads* I know she's been around here for a log time...log?

MN: Storyteller, get in here, Big Bird's gotten you a present!
Storyteller: A present? For me? (discovers feather pen and journal) Oooh, they're beautiful, beautiful!
Nora: And she's in rapture, rapture.
Storyteller: Oh, this journal is just begging to be filled. I must open a new bottle of ink for this, can't risk spoiling the pages with bits of fiber from old parchment. And would you look at the golden sheen of this quill...and this chocolate-covered birdseed looks delish...oh, thank you, Big Bird! (gives Big Bird a hug)
MN: (chuckle) There goes one really contented Fraggle.
Nora: Hmm, wonder what chocolate-covered birdseed tastes like (picks up a pinch and eats it) Mmm, tastes like my favorite trail mix.

All main dorm residents who are here now (Beth, Catherine, Kathy) feel free to hand out all your Secret Santa presents if you want, just take turns and do it in an orderly manner.
Hope this is OK, see you guys later.
Well the Muppet I'm Secret Santa for isn't here with his human. Same with Prairie & Rosita. So should we just put their presents by their doors? And put "Secret Santa"with our name in parentheses?

MN: Well, as long as we're here, we might as well hand out our presents.
Nora: Problem is, all our recipients don't seem to be here.
MN: Well, we'll just announce them publicly, and if the recipients don't show, we'll drop them off at their door. They're all roommates, so that makes it easier.
Storyteller: Fair enough. I shall start. (clears throat) For Diana, I have a beautiful black and white sweater, knitted in a musical note pattern, complete with clefs, sharps and flats.
Nora: Okay, my turn. For Janice, lead guitarist of the Electric Mayhem, I have a set of original, autographed LPs by Joni Mitchell.
MN: And for Sgt. Floyd Pepper, the hippest of the hip, I have a set of autographed, original LPs by Eric Clapton...and what's this? Looks like one of George Harrison's records made it into the stack. But it too is autographed.
Nora: Well, they did play on each other's songs.
MN: Too true, too true. I think the Mayhem will love these.

Beth: Well Red and Wanda, do you want to hand out your gifts?

Wanda: Sure. I know my person is here! I have Kathy. I picked Kathy because I'm a cat and I know how much she loves cats so I knew she'd be easy to shop for! I have given her a cat calendar, three Garfield books because I know he's her favorite, and a gift card to Petco so she can buy treats and food for Gaffer or for the cats that live at her real home. Kathy, I hope you enjoy these, you are a purrfect feline friend!

Red: I've got another resident of room 6, my good buddy Prairie Dawn. For Prairie I got a composition book so she can write more great plays, some fun new hair bows because I know how she likes to look pretty and a framed picture of the two of us from cheerleading. Enjoy my friend!

Well gee, I'm not sure if I should just yet. I don't see any of the others here right.
Gobo: Aw go ahead!
I'll tell you what. I've just gotta step out for a minute, and if he's still here when I get back, I'll give it to him, and just leave the others with notes.
Gobo: Sure, that works.

In the first box is a deep-green colored 'magic eight ball'.* Here you go, hopefully making some decisions will be abit easier for you! * in the next box, is a t-shirt (small enough to fit his size!) that sais on the front, "I know what I'm doing!.. Much better, looks like things are movin' right along.

Count: There are some who are a smidge confused.
Yes, well... There've been a few good suggestions.

*To residents of the dorms: If your Secret Santas aren't present at the moment:
a. You can just leave their gifts with a note so they can pick up the gifts later.
b. Go ahead and leave them with a "Secret Santa" tag identifying who it's from and who it's for at their rooms' doorsteps.
c. Just hand them to your Secret Santas using oversweeping narration, like when there's an opportunity for direct indirect interaction between dorm dwellers who are present and non-present.
Hope this makes some small jot of sense. And if not, well, it's always more profitable to make dollars anyway.

(Well, I'm gonna go ahead and be presumptuous here and get this exchange done... we're not far from the L's after all. My apologies if this causes problems.)

Leyla: Alright, in you go everyone. If they're not here, we'll just drop them off at their rooms later. Good! So, my gift is for Catherine, also known as Ru, when I am not too busy squealing in delight at her stories. (What can I say, it’s an addiction.) It’s a book, “101 Great recipes for Bears and Chickens and Things” which I thought would come in handy given her roommates, as well as a leather bound binder with a lock for her ushy gushy stories, which I suspect will also come in handy. Merry Christmas, Ru! Jimmy, you’re up!

Jimmy: Well, mah present here is fer Mr. Beauregard, it is, and seein’ as how he’s such a fashionable young feller, ah thought I’d give him mah favourite pair a overalls, right from home! You'll look spankin' good in 'em out on the town!

Wanda: Me next, me next!! Okay, so, yay, lucky me, I got the dog’s name, Sprocket…. But that’s okay! Thanks to Wayne, I know a lot about keeping dogs happy, so here you go! A basket of doggy biscuits and a copy of my album, “Wayne and Wanda’s Greatest Hits… and Misses.” I’m sure you know who’s responsible for what.

Hilda: <dryly> It works great as a dog whistle. Oh, is it my turn? Great! Well, as much as I was hoping to draw thePrawncracker…ooh, he’s so cute!...ahem… I instead drew his roommate, Gonzo the Great. Don’t ask me what he’s great at. No, no, I don’t mean that… just a little Hilda ha-ha! For Gonzo, I pulled out my sewing needle for a little friend of a friend of yours! A teddy bear, to keep your moldy old thing company.

Leyla: I guess you’re the last, Robot Kermit, since Robot Piggy wasn’t around for the exchange… um… if you could just pry yourself away from her for a minute?

RK: <sigh> Coming, coming. Whatever it is, is for Camilla. Here you go, chickita. Merry Christmas.

<Camilla opens it quickly… and is stunned to find a silk nighty with a note attached. Gonzo reads it over her shoulder.>

Leyla: <shocked> If you ever want to model this, my closet is always open?!

Robot Kermit: <somewhat abashed> Oh, yeah… I forgot about-
<He catches sight of the look on Robot Piggy’s face> Uh oh. Honey, I didn’t mean-

Robot Piggy: You robotic cretin! Hiiiii-yah! <she sends him flying into a nearby wall before storming off.>

Leyla: Oh dear. Well, uh, merry Christmas everyone! We’d better get out of here. Uh, Hilda, you’ll stay with Robot Kermit for a while? At least until Robot Piggy calms down? Don’t’ let him back to the room for a while… I have too many knickknacks out right now.

Hilda: I’ll look after him. Maybe we can visit Catherine for while if we need to. Ah, it never rains but it pours.

Jimmy: Eh?

Leyla: The other shoe dropped, Jimmy.

Jimmy: Where?

Leyla: Oh never mind. Let’s just get out of here. Cheers, everyone!

Piggy: Kermie—before we go, a little bird told me that you were buying a present for Moi.
Kermit: (indignant) How did you know I was your Secret Santa?
Piggy: (smugly) I didn’t--until just now! Ha!
Kermit: (exasperated) Piggy!
Piggy: Besides, I figured you would want to buy Moi a present for Christmas.
(Kermit mutteres something under his breath.)
Piggy: What was that, dear?
Kermit: Um, nothing. Nothing at all. Anyway, I did actually buy you something a while ago, but when we startedd doing the secret Santa thing, I told Ed I wanted your name.
Piggy: Oh, Kermie--that’s so sweet. Since we are confessing things, Moi must confess that she is your secret Santa as well.
Kermit: The heck you say!
Piggy: The heck I do, Kermie. Here--open it up.
(Kermit looks at the package, which is pristinely wrapped. He hands Piggy his present, which can only be described as somewhat lumpy. They begin to open their respective packages. Kermit opens his box and pulls out a beautifully hand-knit sweater. It is a soft yellow-green, only slightly lighter than Kermit himself. Instead of a little alligator emblem, there is a small representation of Kermit’s face worked into the actual weave of the sweater. He puts it on.)
Kermit: Wow, Piggy--this is beautiful. It’s so soft, and warm. (He leans forward and plants a little kiss on her cheek.) Thanks, Piggy.
Piggy: (blushing a little) I’m glad you like it, Kermie. It’s hand-made.
Kermit: (looking slightly puzzled and suspicious) I didn’t know you could knit.
Piggy: (looking flustered) Oh no--I didn’t, I can’t, I can’t knit or sew or any of those things. I’m not really very domestic. (earnestly) But I know people who can do those things.
Kermit: Domestic is sometimes over-rated. (Eyeing Piggy’s difficulty opening the present) Need a little help, there?
Piggy: (ruefully) You used a lot of tape.
Kermit: Um, yeah. Maybe too much. But I didn’t want you to--
(The paper tape pulls loose at last. Inside, there are layers and layers of tissue paper protecting the actual present. Piggy sifts through the layers carefully, then lets out a little cry of delight.)
Piggy: (very softly) Oh. Oh, Kermit--you, you found one!
Kermit: Yeah--on ebay. I heard you mention that yours had been lost by the airline. I thought that you, of all people, ought to have one of these.
(Piggy is touching the doll’s face, smoothing the white satin skirt of the bridal gown. She touches the little pearls and there are tears in her eyes.)
Piggy: Oh, Kermit--she’s, you’re wonderful. (She hugs the bride doll tightly to her chest with one hand and puts her other arm around Kermit, hugging him tight.) This is so sweet of you.
Kermit: (smiling and putting his arms around her) Well, if anyone deserves one of these dolls, it’s you. (He looks at her awkwardly when she steps back, but there is an appealing shyness on his face.) You make a beautiful bride, Piggy.
Piggy: (laughing a little, wiping her eyes) You are very sweet to say so. Oh, Kermit--this one was so fun to pose for! When I was a little girl, my mother had a bride doll that always sat on her bed. I wasn’t allowed to touch it, but I loved to look at it. It was so delicate and lovely. When they asked me to pose for this one, I was thrilled. And it turned out so beautiful. But my doll, the one they gave me, was lost the last time we flew back from London. I shouldn’t have traveled with it, I know, but I liked to see it sitting on my bed when I was on the road. (She touches the doll’s blonde curls again, then hugs the doll to her chest.) Thank you, Kermit. This means the world to me. (She leans forward and kisses him where his ear would be, if frogs had ears.)
Kermit: Ah, thanks Piggy. Are you, um, ready to go to the party now? I look pretty spiffy in this sweater, huh?
Piggy: Very spiffy. Just let me leave me doll safe on my bed, okay? And then I’ll be ready to do.

Heh... Kathy's room is downstairs. Up, down... Down, up... Fear they'll never get it.
Watching roomie with his present... You got that from Fozzie?
Count: Yes, and I thanked him fright avay.
Good. *Inspecting the parcel... Hey, I know what that is! It's a Jenga game.
Count: Jenga you say?
Yes... You stack all the blocks into a tower... And then take turns picking one of the blocks out from the tower, trying not to pick a block that will make the tower fall over.
Count: Rully?
Yep. If your piece leaves the tower standing, it's the other person's turn to pick out a brick.
Count: And then?
Well, if the twoer collapses, you shout "Jenga!" Of course, I know you'll get more fun out of counting the bricks.
If only I knew how you do it though.
Count: It's wery simple. You just start counting 1, 2, 3...

No, it's not that... Just that I keep wembling so.
Count: It's not healthy.
Tell me about it. So many ideas, and so much frustration at not being able to get them jotted down or any satisfaction from sticking with the plan. Guess the loss of being able to draw sucked that certainty out of me. Oh well.
Count: You know vhat you need?
No, what?
Count: Some new fanfic updates... And a good hug.
*Hugs me, making things feel just a little bit better.
Thanks, needed that.

Count: Thought so.
OK guys, keep handing out presents to your Secret Santas... Have fun.

Unbeknownst to Catherine and more importantly Piggy... One of the messenger bats donning a green elf's cap leaves a parcel on Room #20's doorstep... The little packet is just as intricately wrapped as Kermit's present to the diva, but this one has just a simple ribbon wrapping the tissue paper. Three pieces that complete the bridal doll Piggy received are caringly capped within the sheer sheets. The first, an oval figure stand, rests at the bottom giving the bag it's flattened shape. The second is a wedding cake, mounted on it's cake stand and topped with a loving heart ornament. The third, the final piece, is a handsome green-skinned groom, his head intact and his wardrobe matching the pristine perfect coloring of his bride-to-be in figure form.

Happy holidays.

Huh? Oh, you want to go out little one? Say no meowre.
The door opens so the Count's charcoal caterwauler may go cavorting with her furriend Gaffer, stopping to bat at the bag hung on the doorknob just out of reach.

Hold on a moment Fatatatita... Here, let's see.
Count: *Reading over my shoulder... Ah, a gift from your Secret Santa Paws over in Room #6. Vell, ve'll have to thank them for the nice gesture.

Wembly: Gee Emmet, thanks for these beautiful gifts! This shirt sure will make a nice change to my banana tree one!
Yeah, you can try it on later. I'm sure it'll fit perfectly though! It was very thaughtful of you Emmet to have it shrunk down.
Gobo: Emmet, guess what? I'm your secret Santa! I know you love music as much as us fraggles do, so I'm giving you a copy of the Glory Song that I wrote for our generation in the rock! I also got you a miniature tool kit, since I know your ma sold yours, but I could't quite carry and wrap a whole big toolbox for you. This is better though, since you can store it in your room better! Merry Christmas and happy Newyear Emmet!
Lou: Sarah, my present is for you. As I'm sure you know, it is a tradition in the rock to sellect a pebble, and pass it on amongst our friends every year. I know that you silly..humans are used to a different kind of gift giving though. I combed the rock, and made you this hair clip from the nicest pebbles I could find. Only the best for my friends, after all! Two rows of different colored pebbles, with a solitary pebble at each end. I hope you like it Sarah. Happy holidays!
Wembly: Boober, since you are one of my best friends in the rock, I got a present especially for you! I know that a clean room is very important to you...
Lou, (under her breath), Who doesn't know that?
Lou, be nice!
Wembly, *continuing* so I got you this bottle of something called Simple Green! Kate says it's invironmentally friendly, which means you won't get sick or hurt anyone when you use it. Happy holidays, and happy cleaning, Boober!
Now me. Bobo? Bobo? Ah, there you are. If you hadn't already guessed, I'm your secret Santa! I*hands Bobo a somewhat tall package* I got you a jar of jalapenos, and on top of that, a Santa Clause shaped jar of honey! I hope you enjoy them! Happy holidays Bobo, and thanks for keeping things interesting here along with your roommates!
I'd say that I have to go now, in order to get some sleep, but I know better! I won't be going to bed for a while, so we might as well party on!

Gillis: Ah, there you are Gobo! This Secret Santa gift is for you. Its a durable canvas backpack for when you go on long exploring excursions. It has many nice pockets so you can carry everything you need, like your maps and pencils.
Tosh: And Lou, I got you these cool elastic ties for your pigtails. See, they've got different things on them - this one has radishes, and the baubles on this one look like Fraggle pebbles!
Boober: *walking by* Thanks for the Simple Green, Wembley! I really love it!
Tosh: Yeah; he's started using it already.
Gillis: Tosh...
Tosh: Sorry.
Boober: Mokey, my present is for you. Its a book about Georgia O'Keefe; she's a well-known Silly Creature artist. Actually, her works remind me a little of you. Merry Christmas, Mokey.
Betty Lou: Hi, Zoe! I'm your Secret Santa this year! I got you a ballerina teddy bear. Right now she's got on her practice outfit, but she has other dresses for different ballets. There's one for Swan Lake and another for The Nutcracker, and one for Sleeping Beauty. Merry Christmas, Zoe!
Tosh: Hi, Baby Bear! Beast picked you as his Secret Santa person; I'm just along to translate for him.
Beast: *hands Baby Bear a package and mutters something*

Nora: I guess I know what you're going to be reading over the next couple of days, gumshoe.
MN: Too right. And Storyteller, if you would be good enough to put down your new quill for five minutes, let's go drop off our presents at room 33.

Outside room 33, sometime later:

Three packages, with a note attached:

For Diana, from Storyteller, a musical note patterned sweater. For Janice, from Nora, a collection of autographed Joni Mitchell LPs. For Floyd, from Muppet Newsgirl (aka Erin), a set of autographed Eric Clapton and George Harrison records. Merry Christmas and keep on grooving, from the gang in room 7.

Nora: Hey, Erin, can I borrow one of the Sherlock Holmes books when you're done?
MN: Sure. But I'm heading to New Jersey tonight for New Year's weekend, so don't hold your breath. You're blue enough as it is.
Nora: (mimes drumroll and cymbal clash) Good luck dealing with the relatives, okay? We'll hold down the fort here.

Hey Beth... Just sent you a bit of gossip you should find most informative.

Hmmm, could tell who their Secret Santa givers are, but that'd ruin the surprise/fun. Problem is, one of them's not here fright now, the other's been reminded, and the other one's waiting for everybody else. Eh, maybe we should hand ours out now.
Count: *At the computer, uh-huh... Just a minute after I go ower these corrections you made.
Yeah, I'm trying to get it finished before year's end as one last present to everybody here at MC. Plus, it gives me something to do, what with being a bit down as to the absence of my sis and favorite auteur.

Hey Peter, don't forget to hand out your Secret Santa gifts before ringing in the New Year.

Ungh...
Count: Something wrong?
You mean besides...
Count: Yes, besides that.
Yeah, the letter and production totals are off again... And now I'm going to have to redo those as well when recalibrating for the next version to get posted.
Count: Is that such a bad thing?
Yes, cause I have to go through every single entry, making sure the individual and total totals all match up while renumbering all the entries.
Oh well, it comes with the job. Let's just get some sleep.
Count: All fright, maybe you can talk to some of your forum friends later in the veek to get some help with the other project.
Sure hope so.

Nora: Yeah, I heard. And didn't they cancel the Mummers parade in Philly?
Storyteller: Mummers parade? What's that?
MN: An excuse for silly creatures to get dressed up in fancy costumes and parade about the city. And I think it just got delayed for a day.
Storyteller: Well, sit you down, dear girl, and listen to my tale of the Foxglove Fraggle.
MN: Sounds deadly. Let me grab a cup of tea and I'll join you. (goes into kitchen for said cup of tea) You know, while my mom and I were out puttering around town on New Year's Eve, we found a chocolate shop that was selling the most divine hot chocolate.
Nora: Oooh, do tell.
MN: (returns with tea) Yeah, the stuff's imported from Italy. Probably costs the owner a bundle, but it's worth it. It's like drinking hot liquefied chocolate pudding, and it's a good balance of sweet and bitter...
Storyteller: Stop it, you're making me salivate all over the sofa.
MN: So tell me about old Foxglove. He was proclaiming something in a terrible voice.
Storyteller: Oh, right, right. (clears throat) And he proclaimed in a terrible voice, "Foolish little Fraggles, you shall regret trespassing in my sacred caves. You shall all pay a terrible price for your transgressions."

Nora: I heard something about Kathy having a bad tooth or something.
MN: Yeah, a rather painfully-positioned molar which will probably require the services of an oral surgeon.
Storyteller: Dear, dear. Might I recommend a moss pack and some rockbeetle nest tea. It's the best thing for a toothache.
Nora: And maybe some chocolate pudding as well?
MN: Yeah, as long as it's not too hot or cold. The cocoa and cornstarch are in the far left cupboard, and use one of the smaller saucepans under the stove. I'll get to work on a get well card.
(Storyteller starts brewing tea and prepping a cool moss pack, Nora unearths ingredients for pudding and MN opens up her art supplies box)
Storyteller: So what'd everyone do today?
Nora: They're adding on a new wing down at Coming Unbound. So I had to help put a lot of the books into storage.
MN: Had to check on next semester's tuition and buy my books. Can you imagine how hard it was to track down a copy of Anna Karenina?
Nora: Ergh. Mrs. F. says a lot of high school and college kids have been buying that book lately. Must be on a lot of reading lists.
Storyteller: I'm concerned. Beige Fraggle and his little sister were supposed to bring over a history of the Terrible Cave Quake, but they never arrived.

(the carrier pigeon delivers the following message to the Muppet College Dorms, Room 3:)

Dear Gang,

How are you? Are you having a fun time at Beth's? Well, I have good news and then some bad news. The good news is that I'm back from my trip, but the bad news is that I am going to have to be gone again for a couple of days. I'm so sorry. I know you are in good hands though and I will be back again very soon. I promise. Have fun and stay out of trouble! Happy new year!

Love, Bryan

Bert: Hey guys, there's a note here from Bryan. He's going to be gone a couple of more days
Telly: Oh no! What if we never see him again?
Beth: Relax Telly, he'll be back. We can still have fun in the meantime.
Telly: That's true, I am having fun with you guys
Red: Well good, cause we're a whole bunch of fun!
Abby: Yeah!
Ernie: I'm kind of hungry, should we go get breakfast?
Big Bird: Ooh, me too!
Beth: How about Everybody Eats, they should be able to please this crowd
*chorus of yes from everyone*
Beth: All right, I'll head up the front, you head up the rear Wanda
Wanda: Roger!
Telly: I thought her name was Beth
Wanda: It is, it's just a way of saying...oh nevermind

Nora: (startled) What was that?
MN: I knocked the teapot lid onto the floor. (mutters something under her breath)
Storyteller: You clumsy girl, don't you realize the dangers of leaving breakable objects so close to the edge of the counter?
MN: Yeah, well, I do now. And this was the pot we got in England...
Nora: Ergh, double header.
Storyteller: So go put some really strong glue on it and let it sit. But don't glue your fingers together.
(MN heads off in search of glue)
Nora: Anyone heard from Kathy yet today?
Storyteller: Last I heard, she was coping.
Nora: Well, she seems to be taking it better than I would be.

Hi Rosita. Still hurting, unfortunately. I get it extracted in a couple of weeks.
Rosita:Extracted?What's that?
Taken out.But they'll be giving me something to sort of put me to sleep while they're taking the tooth out.I'll need to eat soft food for a few days afterwards.
Rosita:Like mashed potatoes?
Yeah...and Jello. I'll probably go home for a few days to recuperate.

And here I've only watched my SS Old School DVD's. Haven't had time for anything else, the work on the list's draining with all the little recalibrations. And now it looks like I've lost two days, since I'll have to redo all the totals I had up to the L's all over again. Oh well...
Maybe I should delegate some dorm duties to someone responsible, who I know will be here and post and get things done. If anybody's interested, namely any of you members of the admissions committee, please LMK ASAP.

Have a good night guys, I'm headed off to get some sleep, cause I can't stay awake long enough to do the work that's needed on the ol' list.

Nora: So when do classes start up?
MN: A week from Monday. Three English, one history and an art course. This plus work at the paper. And I've got my schedule arranged so that I can get a little more sleep this semester.
Nora: I'm taking a course on 19th century British literature.
Storyteller: And down at the Rock, I'm teaching a course on Fraggle legends from the time of the Tenth Drafting.
MN: Which would be when...
Storyteller: Oh, about 1976 or so. (shuffles through stories) There's a lot in here about a bunch of silly creatures who worked with puppets in a theater in England...

Bry: Hey, guys. I am back, but only for the night.
Telly: Huh?
Big Bird: Where are you going now?
Bry: I'm helping my girlfriend move up north. She's going to be doing a show up there for a few months and I'm helping her move in and get settled. We're leaving early tomorrow morning.
Big Bird: Rats.
Bry: I'm sorry. I really miss you all. Things are just kinda crazy right now. I'll for sure be back home on Friday though. I hope Beth doesn't mind watching you til then. Are you having fun with Red, Abby and Wanda?
Big Bird: Oh we're having a great time. Beth is really getting the hang of making my birdseed milkshakes. They're a little different from you and Kyle's, but still delicious!
Telly: Yeah, and she even lets me keep Chuckie Sue's cage on her desk!
Big Bird: It's just not the same around here without you.
Bry: Thanks, Big Bird. Well, I better get busy. I have a lot of packing to do. You should go back downstairs so Beth doesn't worry too much. It's starting to get dark. The Count walks into Room #1 serreptitiously, observing the layout of the room aided only by the lowly dimmed window lights flickering in the nocturnal darkness. He completes his task, then goes back to his own bed. Ed, his head plunked down on the computer desk, but still working is suddenly aroused by fresh scents around him.
Wha zat? Huh?
As he lifts his achin' noggin, a glass of cold bat's milk and a couple of date cakes placed on a small dish are there, to provide substinance should he continue plodding through the wee hours of the morning.

Aw, must remember to thank whoever left these here. Also need to talk to Beth, eh that'll be tomorrow I guess since I doubt she'd be awake this late at night.
Reenvigorated by means of the small snack, the tired tennant resumes his progress, slow as it may be.

Bry: Not exactly. I mean, I am back, but not for long. I'm leaving again tomorrow morning.
Hoots: Oh.
Bry: I heard your playing and thought I'd come up and say hello.
Hoots: Oh yeah. I'm just up here serenading the moon.
Bry: (looks up) Oh, hi, Luna!
Luna: Hello, Bryan. Did you have a good holiday?
Bry: I did. Christmas was the best ever! Got to spend it with everyone I wanted to and we all had a wonderful time. Even here at the Dorms. We did Secret Santas, which I think is still going on last I heard.
Luna: I heard that Telly was having some trouble.
Bry: He was. He struggled to try and come up with the perfect present. He made things, baked things, bought things and they all either broke, smeared or spoiled.
Luna: That's too bad.
Bry: Yeah, but as it turned out Oscar was his exchangee! So, it didn't turn out as badly as Telly thought.
Luna: Of course. Oscar is a grouch.
Bry: Yep! And Telly forgot that grouches like broken, disgusting things.
Luna: It sounds like even Oscar had a merry Christmas.
Bry: I think he did...for Oscar anyway.
Hoots: Hehehe!
Luna: It's so nice to see everyone get just what they wanted for Christmas.
Bry: And New Years was also a blast! Even though I wasn't here, I had so much fun with my girlfriend and her family in Las Vegas. I met her grandmother for the first time and she's such a wonderful lady. Quite a spitfire. We saw beautiful fireworks and made noise!
Luna: I see a lot of fireworks in the sky on New Years. It's quite colorful.
Bry: It was fun, but now I have to go with my girlfriend to help her move up north. She's performing in a show there for a few months. I'm sure gonna miss her.
Luna: The same way that Big Bird and Telly are missing you right now.
Bry: Yeah. I feel so terrible leaving them for so long.
Luna: They understand and you'll be back soon.
Bry: True. Well, I should get to bed. I have an early morning ahead of me.
Luna: Oh, Bryan? Before you go, would you mind saying the sponsors with me?
Bry: I would love to, Luna. I would love to.
Hoots: (starts playing the Sesame Street lullaby theme)
Bry: Muppet College Dorms were brought to you today by the letter T for "trip," "time," and "tomorrow".
(a group of twinkling stars shine to form the letter T in the sky)
Luna: And by the number 7...
(another group of stars form a 7 constellation)
Bry: ...Which is what time I need to get up in the morning. Goodnight, Luna. Goodnight, Hoots. (goes down to room 29 to sleep)
Luna: Goodnight. (floats up to the sky while Hoots continues playing the sax)

(It is early morning and things are grumpy in Room 20. Catherine is herding her roomies around like a drill sargeant while everyone pretty much whines and grumbles.)
Catherine: That is IT! No more late night movies! And if I have any more grumblings about how early morning comes, I'm going to cancel everybody's subscription to MSN! Do I make myself clear?
(There is a startled silence, and everyone begins to move more energetically toward getting to class.)
Piggy: (frantically) I can't find my boot! I can't find my other boot and I'm going to be late for class!
Catherine: (placatingly) Okay, calm down. Go eat your waffles and I'll go look for it. What does it look like?
Piggy: It's black.
(Catherine sighs. Piggy has no less than 13 pairs of black boots. She bends down and slips the one boot off Piggy's foot and heads off to do battle with Piggy's closet.)
Fozzie: Catherine! Catherine--I can't find my textbook!
Kermit: Which one is it, Fozzie? I'll help you look until Catherine comes back.
Fozzie: It's--it's orange. It's my ear-wiggling textbook.
(There is a sudden silence in the room, then Kermit shakes himself.)
Kermit: Um--ear-wiggling? You're taking a class in ear-wiggling?
Fozzie: (proudly) Advanced Ear-Wiggling. I clepped out of the basic class easy.
Kermit: Oh, well, er, that's great, Fozzie. Wait--I think I found it! Is this it?
Fozzie: (rapturously) Yes! Oh, thank you Kermit! (hugs book)
(Catherine re-emerges at this point, triumphant. She has a pink feather boa around her neck and something that might be a garter belt has its hooks in her sweater, but she is clutching the boots tightly. She kneels down and helps Piggy put her boots on while Piggy gulps the last of her tea.)
Piggy: Oh, thank you Catherine! Kissy kissy! (runs for the door) Kissy kissy Kermie--see you after class!
Kermit: Bye Piggy--see you after class!
(Fozzie has his mouth full of honey and waffles so he waves. Catherine leans forward desperately and snatches his tie before it can fall in the honey.)
Fozzie: (swallowing) What's Piggy taking this semester?
Kermit: Um, Torch Songs 303, and um, Karate for Stage and Screen and, and....
Catherine: (distractedly) Accounting.
(Another dead silence.)
Kermit: Accounting? Piggy's taking accounting?
Catherine: (clearing dishes) Uh huh. It's called Accounting for Divas. It's supposed to help you figure out whether the offers you get are a good deal or not. Something about figuring royalties and residuals.
Kermit: (making a scrunchy face) I thought Marty took care of all that? Isn't that what you have an agent for?
Catherine: (grinning) Actually, Marty suggested she take it. He's one smart cookie, but there are times where your agent isn't there. I'll bet you she gets an "A." Any takers?
(Kermit and Fozzie both hold up their hands in surrender.)
Kermit: No way. I never bet against a sure thing. Okay Fozzie--you ready?
Fozzie: (mumbling around a huge mouthful of waffle) Almost.
Catherine: Um, Kermit--didn't you want any pancakes?
Kermit: (a little uncomfortably) Um, not this morning. Too sweet for me this early in the day.
Catherine: Oh--sorry. (She scrunches her face up in a fair imitation of Kermit, then smiles.) Wait a minute, though--I have something else that might do the trick. (She opens the pantry and pulls out a protien bar.) Try this.
(Kermit looks at it, reading the label.)
Kermit: "Each bar is chock full of natural protein." (He looks at the ingredients list, reading it out loud) dragonfly, millipeeds, carob, natural fruit fiber, fortified with vitamins B and C... Thanks, Catherine. THis looks great. Where'd you get this?
Catherine: Little shop near the waterfront. (A bait shop.) Thought you might like them. Let me know, okay? They have peanut-butter, too.
(Kermit nods and waves, munching happily as he starts out the door. Fozzie gets up, finishes his milk and dashes to catch up with Kermit.)
(After the door shuts, Catherine heaves a sigh of relief and whips the feather boa off, blowing little pieces of feather fluff out of her eyes. The garter belt is more stubborn, and takes some effort to remove from her sweater. She gulps her own tea--cold now--and dashes for the door. Sewing for Inanimate Objects isn't going to hold up for anyone!)

*Beth posts another note on bulletin board*
Just a reminder that all roommate requests or changes will still need to be approved. (Kyle, you're fine unless Ed says otherwise, so don't worry). Also, Bryan, Peter, Lisa and Kate, your inboxes are full and I need to send you a PM so please clear some space so I can do so.
Thanks again for the responses so far.

Red: Boy, that's alot of work for you
Beth: I don't mind, I'm happy to help Ed out.
Red: That's good of you. Anything changing with us?
Beth: Possibly. We'll see.
Red: Hmmm

*Sighs of relief. Good to be back at the dorms. Couldn't find the keys to the place, but at least now I've had my fill over in the fanfic reading room.

Oh hi Beth. Over these posts I've come to learn that Lisa's pretty much unreachable by modern methods, and the only chance of contacting her is through relaying the message by her other half/fiancee who's now strangely married to her.
*Small laugh, check the 30th of December thread if you haven't alreay.

As for the others, try the Send an E-mail feature in their profile pages, if not I'll talk to you soon about how to contact them. Take care, and thanks for helping out.

Bry: (walking through the lobby carrying 2 large luggage bags) Boy, I am finally back, and for a while this time. (notices the bulletin board) Hmm? What's this? Oh, it's from Beth. I guess she's been trying to notify some of us. Well, she should know I'm out of town. Afterall, my roomies are staying with her. My PM box is clear now, so maybe she'll contact me later with whatever it is. Something about keeping our rooms or something. Well, I certainly plan on keeping my room. Even though I will be going on my ten week tour, but that isn't til March, so we'll see. Well, I better get to my room and unload these heavy bags. (goes to room 29 to unpack)

Storyteller: Say, Erin, did you ever finish that bathrobe you said you were working on?
MN: Yeah, you've seen me wearing it around the dorm. It's been freezing lately.
Nora: Right, I think the thermostat's broken.
MN: No, thermostat's just fine. It's just been freezing lately.
Storyteller: So what are you working on these days? I heard a lot of cutting sounds in your room.
MN: Me? I'm making another quilt.
Nora: Not like that piece de resistance you made for Richard.
MN: No, not nearly that difficult. It's just a patchwork number for me to recline on when I'm studying out on the lawn or something.
Storyteller: Excellent. As for me...I have to prepare several scrolls' worth of lecture notes on the Great Mudflat Catastrophe of the Fifth Drafting, and I'm really on pins and needles about it...
MN: You're sure you're not sitting on your pincushion again?
Storyteller: What...ouch! (removes offending pincushion and mutters several curse words in ancient Fragglish)
Nora: Wow, she's just flunked the Princess and the Pea test.

MN: I've got to remember that pincushion joke for a fan fiction, I guess.
Nora: You've got ten million different ideas stacked up already.
MN: Yeah, I'm just too lazy or too afflicted by writer's block to properly string them together.

Almost. Would've liked to have 48 full hundred liquid ounce gallon bottles, but we'll have to go with a shade under.

Yep, and maybe something else will get done in the mean time. Now come, we've got some shuteye to catch up on.

Bry: Oh, Big Bird! You've got to stop doing that.
Big Bird: Doing what?
Bry: Nevermind. Oh my gosh! Did I really nap for that long?
Big Bird: I dunno. What time did you get home.
Bry: A while ago. What are you doing up so late?
Big Bird: Waiting for you to get home! Beth said you'd be back today. Oh, I'm so glad you're here!

Bry: (mimicking him) Telly!!!
Telly: You're back! (hugs me) Umm...you are back, aren't you?
Bry: For a while, yes.
Telly: Oh thank goodness! I thought we'd never see you again! You've been taking too much after Ryan lately.
Big Bird: Well, their names do sound alike.
Telly: True.
Bry: No, I'll be here for a while. I'll be leaving for a longer trip in March, but we'll jump off that bridge when we get to it.
Telly: Jump off what bridge?? I can't! Heights scare me!
Bry: It's just a figure of speech, Telly. Hmm...it sounds like someone's been taking after Boober lately.
Big Bird: And their names do not sound alike.
Bert: (walking in through the open door) Bryan? Hey, look, Ernie! He's back!
Ernie: (following behind with Rubber Duckie in hand) And just in time too!
Bry: Oh? For what?
Ernie: For Rubber Duckie's birthday, of course!
Bry: Rubber Duckie's birthday? Was that today? So sorry I missed it.
Ernie: But you didn't. It's tomorrow!
Bry: I didn't get him a present.
Ernie: That's okay. I've already got a little surprise cooked up. (covers Rubber Duckie's ears, or atleast where his ears would be) I first need to gather up some of our friends to help out. Like Prairie and the Monsters and everyone.
Bry: Cool. Well, if there's anything I can do, let me know.
Ernie: Maybe you can pick up the cake.
Bert: (lowers eyebrow) The cake?
Bry: We're actually having a party?
Ernie: Nothing too fancy.
Bert: (sighs)
Big Bird: Red Fraggle mentioned having a birthday a few days ago, but there wasn't any party. I wonder why. She seemed kinda sad about it.
Telly: Well, I know I would be if someone forgot my birthday.
Big Bird: I tried to cheer her up by making a snow-snuffleupagus.
Bry: Did it work?
Big Bird: It did until the real Snuffy came by to visit and acidentally slipped on the ice and fell into it knocking it over.
Bry: Oh, those dang icy patches!
Big Bird: Yeah.
Bry: Well, I think it's not only Red's birthday, but a bunch of the Fraggles birthdays as well.
Bert: What are the odds?
Bry: Come on. Help me get unpacked some more and then we can figure out what to do for the Fraggles and Rubber Duckie.

Aaaaargh!
Count: Is everything all fright Ed?

Yes, I just forgot about the B-Days to announce.

Count: Vell, why don't you do that now?
Good point.

Hey guys... Ther's a party goin' round these parts today... Later in the afternoon actually.
So who's the lucky birthers?

All five of the Fraggle clan: Gobo and Wembley, who room with Kate, Boober, staying with Kim, Mokey, who's currently with Nyssa, and Red Fraggle who's been helping Beth with all the recent dorm events.
Sprocket who resides with Melissa also shares a birthday with the Fraggle Five as they've come to be known, haven't seen her lately, guess those darn marathon work shifts have kept her preoccupied.
Their birthday was this past Wednesday, January 10, and we'll be having the party this weekend.

Finally, today, the 13th of January marks the day of joy for Rubber Duckie. So I guess it'll be a grand time in the ol' pool house tonight as Ernie and Red live it up splashing and splishing to the tune of all the well-wishers who I hope decide to show up.
Have fun and happy B-Days you guys.
Count: Ah-ha! That's sewen sintillating celebrations all in one day!

Robin: I prefer the shortest option.

Here's an update on who's leaving and what roomies are now available:

Diana and Nyssa have chosen to leave the dorms for now. Therefore room 23 and 33 are now available. The following roomies are also now available:

Janice
Zoot
Floyd
Dr. Teeth
Mokey
Ludo
The Jabberwock

Abby Cadabby has enjoyed her stay but has decided to move out of room 3 (OOC: I just haven't had enough exposure to her so I've decided to let her go, anyone else wants to try it, go for it)

Cookie Monster has decided after a long stay to move on from Kyle's room and he will now be living with Beth, Red, and Wanda the Cat in room 3 (OOC: If anyone wants to take him though I'm willing to discuss that, but when Kyle said Cookie was leaving I just really wanted to take him in, but seeing as I'm helping organize and it might not seem fair, it's totally cool if someone else wants him, but for now, that's the plan)

If you have not let Beth or Ed know your intentions of staying or leaving and which roommates are, please let them know ASAP. We'd like to open the dorm to other potential residents sometime this week as the term is already underway.

Thanks everyone!

Boober: What if I want to do laundry?
Kim: ...you can do your own laundry, but nobody else's. And no one can ask you to do anything for them, either. If they ask, you have the right to refuse. All I ask is that you let us know before hand.

[I am so sorry about being gone from here for about a whole month! And completely missing the Christmas party and Secret Santa too!! The following shall explain why, and it shall also rectify the fact that....I missed the Secret Santa thing!]

Sara: *Comes walking into the room, looking bedraggled and tired* Hi guys!

*they both come rushing towards her, worried sick about her*

Scooter: Are you okay?

Sadie: Where have you been for the entire month, Sara?

Sara: Helping...my mother. She's been laid up with a sprained gluteus maximus muscle.

Sadie: "gluteus maximus muscle"? What does that mean?

Sara: Basically....she sprained her butt. *waits for laughter to ensue, but none comes*

Scooter: Is she doing okay now?

Sara: I'm suprised you didn't laugh. But I guess everyone knows that your butt is the largest muscle in your body. But uh...sorta doing okay. She can hobble around her classroom; but if she moves too quickly, it goes into spasms and it really hurts.

Sadie: Oh, that's terrible!

Sara: Did you guys do Secret Santa yet?

Scooter: No...we've been waiting for you, actually.

Sara: Oh! Ya'll shouldn't have done that! I....I completely forgot to get something for Skeeter!

Scooter: *produces a beautiful purple velveteen track jacket set from off of the table, already wrapped and labeled.* Figured you'd forget. So I picked it up for you.

Sara: You....are a godsend Scoot. Thank you SO much! Let's go hand out these long-awaited gifts already, okay?

*The three of them finally get around to handing out their Secret Santa gifts. Skeeter got the track suit set from Sara, Lisa got a nice set of pencils and lots of hardbound notebooks from Sadie, for all of her writing needs. And Beth got a gift card from Hooper's, as well as a coupon to have her wedding dress professionally cleaned and stored away properly for archival safety.*

(Prairie Dawn nods and starts to play the piano freely and relaxed following Ernie's rhythem.)

Gee, the one I need is you
A chum who's always there for me
If skies are grey or blue
Your precious little picture
Is a fixture in this frame

D means you're delightful and delicious and so dear
U says I'm undone by what you do
C is for the cute way that you squeak into my ear
K is for the kick I get from you
I, I'll be there if you're in hot water
E you're extra-special to the end
Put them altogether, they spell DU-UUU-CKIE
Rubber duckie, I'm so lucky you're my friend

So are you enjoying your birthday, Rubber Duckie? (squeak, squeak)
You didn't blow out the candles on your cake. (squeak, squeak) Make a good wish! (Ernie holds up the Duckie by a tiny birthday cake with one lit candle. As Ernie squeazes the Duckie, he squeaks and the candle is magically blown out) Khekhekhe!

(A chorus of friends, including Maurice, Wanda, Telly, Betty Lou, Fraggles, and the human roomies as well, start singing with a few of them getting individual solos; Bryan is conducting them...)
Cookie: D means you're delightful and delicious and so dear Ah ha ha!

Beth: *hugs Scooter* Thanks so much for the gifts, I've been meaning to have that dress cleaned, it just hasn't happened. Now I can do it. And who doesn't love a gift card to Hooper's?
*A loud whoopie is heard as Red splashes into the pool*
Wanda: Do you think Red is having fun?
Beth: I sure do. Too bad Abby left this morning and missed it
Wanda: True, it was nice having her live with us but I understand she misses her mom and dad
Beth: Me too. I'm sure if she ever wants to come back to the dorms she'll find a place to stay
Wanda: True enough. Cake?
Beth: I'd love some!

Grover: Maurice isn't here yet.

Ryan: Think we're too late for the party?
Rowlf: Well, Robin is, he's been out for hours.
Gonzo: Same with Camilla.
Clifford: And the Chef, thank goodness.
Ryan: Heh. Well, I say we just give the Fraggles and Sprocket their presents tomorrow.
Uncle Deadly: I agree. We all need a good night's sleep.
Ryan: You don't sleep.
Uncle Deadly: *shrug* Minor detail.
Ryan: Good grief. G'night gang.
All: Night!

(Everyone is in the pool splishin' and a-splashin' and doing "De Rubber Duck")
Hoots (voice-over) Muppet Dorms were brought to you today by the letters D for Duckie, F for Fraggle, and the number 5. The Dorms is a thread of the Muppet Central Forum. Goodnight, dudes!

Hmmm... Twas a good party yester eve.
Count: Songs and silliness down at the ol' swimmin' hole.

Hope the guests of honor like the gifts we got them.
Count: Vhat did ve get them again?
Well, let's see... There were five brightly colored Fraggle pebbles: resplendant red for Red of course, ornate orange for Gobo, glimmering yellow-green for Wembley, glumly broody green-blueish for Boober, and lovely lavender for Mokey. It'll add a splash of color to their worlds, especially since they like to pass those pebbles on to the ones they love.
Count: Too true.

Wanda, Beth's roomie, went with me down to the local pet store and bath & beauty shop to pick out gifts for Sprocket and Rubber Duckie.
Count: Really?
Yes... They had lots of stuff there, we had a tough time deciding, glad she came along to help make some smart purchases. Sprocket got a combination food and water bowl metal tray, that way he can move both out of the way if Melissa needs the space to work in her room. He also got a couple of doggie grooming products, Melissa can use those at her discretion, you know how pets are about taking baths.
Count: Mmmhm. Vell, hexcept for Rubber Duckie.
*Chuckling, yeah... That's why the little squeaker got a new bubble-decorated soapdish and a water-proof cushion to sit in. Like I said, hope they like their gifts.

Red: Did you see my cool shiny red pebble from Ed?
Beth: Yes, it's beautiful! So nice of you to shopping with him Wanda!
Wanda: I enjoyed myself, it was nice.
Red: I already miss Abby, her side of the room looks so empty.
Beth: It won't be that way for long!
*hears knock at the door*
Wanda: Who could that be?
Beth: Our new roommate! *opens door to reveal Cookie Monster with bags and a pillow that looks like a cookie*
Cookie: Me ready to move in with pretty girls now!
Red: Cookie Monster!
Wanda: Hey! Welcome!
Cookie: Thank you. Me happy to have new place to stay. Me miss Kyle and other monsters but me visit them lots.
Beth: Here's your bed, and we've got lots of room for your things.
Cookie: This great, thank you!
Red: I get the feeling this is going to be tons of fun, I love the monsters here!
Cookie: Me like Fraggles too, so it good trade off.
Beth: I'm so happy this is working out. Ok, I've got to get in touch with some of the committee members about something, so I'll be back, you guys behave
Wanda: Oh we will

Robin: Ryyyyyan, where is Lisa?
Ryan: I don't know Robin... She's obviously back, just not... Back.
Robin: But when will she be back?
Ryan: I'm not sure. But I do know that she just had me tell Beth that she will be staying here at the Dorms with you, and Rowlf, and Chef through the next semester.
Robin: But she's not even here! What if she just leaves us here forever!
Ryan: Well, in all fairness, she can't. I can only have five room mates max, and trust me, Gonzo adds up to like twelve already... So she has to come back eventually.
Robin: Ryan?
Ryan: Yes?
Robin: How long is eventually?
Ryan: Good grief...
