Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

FR: As cheesy as it was looking back, the only version of Alice in Wonderland besides Disney's animation is their live action show for TV. I was five or six when it started airing and I loved it. I especially loved the Tea Party set and characters. You never knew what they were going to pull out of the "house" behind them. :) Once again a math test is looming over my head on Monday. *puts on Oliver and goes to the desk to start studying again*

Yes, the live show was good or OK for what it was worth. Liked the characters of Heddah or Heather Hatter and April Hare.
Got some good character extension/development/inclusions with those two.

And I guess it was Disney's animated classic that got me enamored with the story in the first place.

JFS: Well,the biscotti turned out great.It's good that I'm always trying different food and baking combinations. I'm going to go to Boston Market,and pick up dinner.Some rotis. chicken,meatloaf with sides of cornbread,veggies,baked beans,mashed potatoes,green beans and corn.There will be plenty for those who would like some.I'll leave it out buffet style. RH:MIT is a funny Brooks film.Brooks is so great.Got to meet him and Carl Reiner at a book & cd signing.

Here's what Link and I have going for our room at the moment:

I put a Muppet cast poster on our door. Every time Link looks at it, he sings "Memories".

In our room, the first thing you will probably notice is our wooden lofts for our beds. It now looks like we have two sets of bunk beds, though both sets have only the top bunk. We now have a whole lotta floor space. I have the left side of the room, Link has the right. I have utilized the underside of my bed for two bookshelves, both 13"w and 21" tall. Each has four shelves. The first unit contains my required literature (The Sun Also Rises, The Grapes of Wrath, The Catcher in the Rye, The Odyssey ) and an early draft of Link's autobiography, The Importance of Being an Attractive, Good-Looking and Handsome Pig . So far, at 12,297 pages, it is still a work in progress. The other shelving unit contains my Palisades collection (though, strangely enough, my Captain Hogthrob figure is missing).

Next to my shelves is a thirteen inch color television on a small stand. Under this stand is my Playstation 2. Link and I take turns playing Spider-Man 2 (by the way, if anyone ever wants to stop by and play, just let us know. We love having people over). I keep a box next to the television with a part of my DVD collection (only the necessities: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Boondock Saints, Kill Bill, Tombstone, Evil Dead, Indiana Jones and Star Wars trilogies, various Disney classics and of course, my Muppet DVD collection). The last bit of space I use for clothing. I have to stack my clothes there because Link took up the entire closet (which is located to the extreme left when you first enter our room).
At the foot of my loft is our computer desk. It is a basic brown desk with drawers that we keep knick knacks in. I used to leave my laptop on the desk but had to hide it away after Link got peanut butter all over my keyboard. We now have a cheap, generic-brand PC that gets the job done with web research, report writing and checking out Muppet Central. Under the desk is a dictionary, thesaurus, rhyming dictionary, almanac and Writer's Market book.
At the end of the room, right in the middle, is a small table where we keep a hot plate and microwave, and a mini fridge underneath. We keep our groceries on this table (you will normally find cans of Spaghettios w/ meatballs and Swiss Cake Rolls here).
Under Link's bed is two beanbag chairs and two fold-up stadium chairs. This is where we hang out and watch movies (the only ones we ever seem to agree on are the Disny flicks. Link cries at the sad parts. Of course, the sad parts for him are his laments that Prince Charming got cast in the role instead of him. I explain to him that it is all animation but the discussion always goes over his head). Link has sheepskin blankets and an extra fluffy pillow (wait a tic...I can't believe this...I just found my Captain Hogthrob figure under his pillow!)
Me: "Link, you took my figure!"
Link: "I couldn't help myself, there's just something about it."
M: "Could it be that it's an action figure of you?"
L: "Yeah. That's it."
M: "Well, get your own. You can get it extra cheap just about anywhere online."
L: "Ouch. That's hitting below the belt!"

Sorry about that.
All that is left to describe are the walls. I have my Muppet posters, my 2004 Muppet calendar (which I often find has been turned back to April), and my 8x10's on my side of the room, and Link keeps his Pigboy Pigmate 2004 calendar on his side of the room.

That's our room for you. As I said earlier, we both like having people over so if you ever feel like stopping by, please feel free!

Myself, I like to think that there is a life-after-death, and that our actions in this world determine where we will be in the next. A lot of people share this view, and they live their lives accordingly. Of course, there are a lot of other people who don't think this way. But that's okay because another reason I think we are here is to learn as much as we can about others and learn to get along with them despite our differences. You see, I think life is one big test...it's a mixture of multiple choice, true/false, and essay questions. Sometimes we are faced with situations that can be dealt with in a number of ways. It is the choices we make from the options we are given that help determine what kind of people we are. There are also the times where we may be asked questions and it is up to us to decide whether to tell the truth, or whether to provide false information. There are also times when matters are not so cut and dry. We must go with our gut instinct and do what we think is either right or necessarry, depending on who is affected by our decisions. Then, in the end, when our life on this Earth is done, there is someone who reviews our test and ultimately decides what to do with us. It's all complex...

Oh, you guys. It's a normal beef steak. We popularly call it "biftec" back at my home. Is a good sandwich hokay?
Just a big ol' sub sandwich, on either puffy or toasted bread. Got pieces of cut beef steak cooked in the skillet, classic veggies like tomatoes and lettuce, onions and pickles, and mayo-ketchup with a dash of mustard.
My mom makes them and they're always rully great. Heh, guess I've learned a few recipes from her in my time. Anyway, have fun at the mall with the monsters Kyle.

2 Work on Muppet figure photos, saving them with their names onto master CD. OK, gotta wait on my brother for this one too, but hope to see what if anything can be done today.
3 Contact reader to get back up-to-date on readings for Constitutional Law class.
4 Gotta get started investigation for Law seminary.
5 Gotta get budgeting for the new Muppet figures, customs, and my costume.
About half the costume's already part of my stored wardrobe, just gotta get a few pieces to finish the ensamble.
OK, let's get some lunch Mokey, and then we'll see how the rest of the day goes from there.

Philo and Gunge, rooming with Clifford and forum member Philo&Gunge in Room #58.
Mokey Fraggle who's rooming with me in Room #1.
So, if you're interested in joining us here at the dorms, Wembley can be your roommate. Just tell me what room you want from the ones still available and I'll get you the key.
3 Barry Lee, glad to see you returned to the dorms. Unfortunately, you need to pick some other character(s) as your roommates. Telly Monster's already rooming with Floydnjanicefan in Room #27. And Oscar's in the Floor 2 Common Room's trashcan, which makes him unavailable for roommate status.
However, if you want, contact me and I can send you a copy of the register so you can who's been taken and choose a new roommate and room number.

FR: Well, Piggy and I are back from our weekend at home. I enjoyed it and slept a LOT. Didn't manage to get any of my homework done or study but at least I caught up on my sleep. While I was gone I picked up some cobwebs and spiders for our door and found the cutest little black cat doorstop. I'm still working on the rest of the decorations and haven't settled on a costume yet. What about you Piggy? What are you planning on being for Halloween?

FR: I think I've decided on a Halloween costume. I'm going to be a Southern belle. I found this great dress in a thrift store, it's pink with lots of ruffles and a low neckline. A broad ribbon the same shade of pink ties around the waist. I have this great white hat that has a really big brim that looks great with it. All I need to do now is find some elbow length gloves and pull out my pearl jewlery and I'm set to go. I have an idea Piggy! We could both be Southern belles!

Piggy: That would be a great idea! I'm sure I have something in here somewhere...*mumbles to herself as she digs through her gigantic closet* Here it is! Mine is white with little yellow flowers on it with more ruffles. And *rumages some more* here's a hat to match *holds up a white hat with a yellow ribbon and flower on the brim*.

FR: That's great! I think we need some pumpkins. I'm going to go to the store to get some and to stock back up on groceries. They've gotten a little low because of all of the school work that just seems to pile up. *leaves for the grocery store*

Well, the good news is that the university shut down as part of a strike today. The bad news is that I don't know when it'll open up again. Oh well, at least I got a few things to keep me entertained till then, like my investigation essay and prepping for the Halloween bash.
Uh, FR, if you and Piggy go as southern belles, wouldn't you be clashing with each other? Maybe one of you could be the southern belle, and the other could be a southern dark bride.

Hey guys, just got back from the mall. Did a little shopping and went to one of the food joints to have dinner with my family in honor of my aunt's birthday.
Well, I picked up a set of fangs, the white bowtie, and a cape. Had to settle for a black waist-long cape cause the store didn't have any green ones, but the collar's perfect for what I have in mind. The only thing left to find is a red vest, after that I'll probably send it to a seamstress to add the yellow diagonal stripes.

Blue and black paints, check. You can use some of my acrylic paint bottles. They're small little bottles, but they've got plenty of paint in 'em. And you can borrow our brushes too. Will bring them by after we wash up after the meal.
Just remember to return them when you're finished. And as for the arcangel markings, you'd have to use your imagination with that since I'm not the best person to ask as to how they actually looked in the movie.
And as for the demon's smell... well, let's just say we can help you out with that too.

That's about it to the costume,doesn't seem that hard,does it? We don't have to worry about the makeup and hair until the day of the party,just to glue the ivy onto the unitard and to make sure the unitard fits comfortably. *Phew*, found my grammar book in the library, in the very back section called "Too Dang Boring Section". Link found it while looking for a book called "The Twenty Most Interesting Pigs of All Time" published in 1964. He hopes to one day make the list. I suggested that he send in an updated manuscript to the publisher. After listing himself as number one, he has hit a snag...he can't come up with pigs for the next 19. I've suggested the names of some of his colleagues but he says they can write their own updates.

Hello TuttertheMouse. Welcome to the Muppet College Dorms. Well, let me check the register... good news! Your roommate choices are available. So what room do the three of you want? There are rooms on each of the four floors still vacant and waiting new occupants.
Here's what's still vacant.
Floor 1: Rooms #3, 5-9, 11-13.
Floor 2: Rooms #15-20, 22, 25, 28, and 29.
Floor 3: Rooms #30, 32, 34, 36, 38-40, 42-44.
Floor 4: Rooms #45-51, 53-54, and 57.
Just pick one of those and I'll get you your key and show you to your room. Aaron, our bellboy, or some of my bats will be with us shortly to carry your bags to your room.

*Takes keys and takes new boarders to their room.
OK guys, follow me and we'll get there quick. Gotta enter the dumbwaiter elevator, it's here in the common room fireplace.
*Descend one floor to reach the basement floor.
OK, now we turn to our right as we leave the common room. And let's go down the hallway, here we are, third door on our left.
*Hands key to Room 13 to TuttertheMouse. Hope you enjoy your stay here, and have a good time.
The bats or Aaron will be by later with your bags. Remember to tell us how you plan to design your room, and hope you enjoy yourselves here at the dorms.

My day went splendidly! No classes held on Columbus Day, gotta love that (unless, they were held...guess I shouldn't assume those sorts of things, heh, heh, heh). I worked for a while, napped for a while and watched Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Did you ever see Snatch? It's kind of the same only with less notable actors. It's definitely one worth checking out especially if you're a fan of cockney communicating criminals carrying on over a caper no one is capable of coping with (lots of C's there, huh?
