Has Janice been bumped? Rully?

Do we know which wave she's been bumped to?

All's I know is, if I get a complete Electric Mayhem except for Janice, I'm gonna FREEEEEEZEEEEEAK!

Please tell me this is unsubstantiated internet rumor, and I can go back to sleep.

According to Ken, she's now slated for series 5. It will be worth the wait my friend. Can't wait for Janice myself... her and Floyd and the band belong together.

Series 5 is when they plan to release the Koozbane playset. I do agree that pushing Janice back is a bad idea though.

I'd like to see that Koozebane playset movied to wave 5...and Pepe moved to Wave 4, but thats just me^_^
Anyways, hey like Ken said...past wave 3 EVERYTHING is tentative! Lets just hope November finally sees the release of wave 2, otherwise the whole line will be wayyyy off schedule.

Rizzo bumped Janice from Series 4?

Why do I have the feeling that Byron now hates Rizzo?

(that is if he didn't hate Rizzo to begin with)

Rizzo is now being boycotted. I wonder if Henson/Palisades (I can't keep track of who is in charge of these decisions anymore. Don't bother correcting me, I won't remember) had this in mind when they went with this change...

but Koozebane is in wave 5. Swinetrek is the set for wave 4.

to all others,
as I know it, Vet's hospital hasn't been given an official spot yet. it kept bouncing back between series 6&7. May be even further back by now for all we know. Anyway I know the Superhero Scooter is being moved to Series 4. He may become the chase variant or he may be a store exclusive. We'll just have to wait and see. didn't Ken say something about doing somethin different with the exclusives?
Personally, I thik it's a shame o have ot wait for Janice too and would liek to see Sam get the pushback instead. I think Janice has greater following than Sam, but that may also be the reason she was pushed back.

hey c'mon, stop messing with Byron;) Anyways, as some collectors know, on ebay.uk theres already some great Rizzo action figures. Anyways...see this is my point about Palisades making mini figures. I mean who knows ho wlong it could before we get the whole electric mayhem band...with the minis idea we could get em all in one set for like $15!

Anyways, yeah it is weird Janice is getting bumped, since Rizzo was quite minor on the show. Then again I say bump Pepe to series 3 in favor of Lew Zealand.

WOOOOOO-HOOOOOO-HOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO! RIZZO THREE MONTHS EARLY!!! :D

Sorry Janice, I hardly knew ye, but you're just not a series-seller like Rizzo is! :p

Seriously, though, Rizzo is one of the main, heavy-hitter most popular Muppets. Janice and Sam in assortment 4 has "shelf-warmer" all over it. Both are quasi-popular, but all of the SUPER-popular characters like Koozebane Kermit, Rizzo, and Gonzo were in Wave 5, which was severely overpowered.

Adding Rizzo to the mix in Wave 4 is going to sell a LOT of sets from places that just sell the sets, whereas a set with 2 semi-popular people and 2 relative unknowns wouldn't have been the best.

VIVE LA PALISADES!!!

[BTW: When did Ken say that Janice was bumped in favor of Rizzo? What thread was that on? Did I miss it?]

I would definately agree, in the last few years Rizzo has been
pushed as one of the main 5 or 7 core group of charcters.

But...that said, his inclusion as one of the big boys, like Pepe, has only been in the last few years....soooo...is this perhaps a bit of history revisionism? People said that Pepe shouldnt be in any waves before 7, however the Pepe nascar model and car packaging shows 25th Annv TMS logos...Fozzie has a MFS variant, and modern 'late 90's to now popular Rizzo'(not hardly seen background Rizzo) is being bumped up to wave 4.
so seeing as the argument of straight TMS purists is null,
it will be interesting to see how th eother post 4 waves shape up. And sorry, I seriosuly think Pepe should be moved up to wave 6 as Ken originally proposed...maybe even 5.

Umm...I doubt that. People have been tellin' me that if she's pushed back, it's only to make her that much better, cause they know how big she will sell.

Hmmm, I never thought about the fact she could be being held back by a wave to perfect the sculpt. IT would suck to have a mutant janice on our hands, heh. I think its safe to say Rizzo is a much easier sclpt. well byron, if it helps this could mean a more accurate/better looking janice.

Though I must say, at the rate these waves are being scheduled,
we might not see wave 4 til the time Star Wars Episode 3 and the playstation 3 come out.

The Count
08-03-2002, 03:34 PM
Here's my opinion for what it's worth. If Janice's figure is being held back a wave, like Rowlf's, to perfect the sculpt, then I could be inclined to accept her being bumped back down a wave or two. I do agree that Janice should've been released in Series 4. We could've had an Electric Mayhem member in every series as far as possible: (S1) Dr. Teeth, (S2) Floyd, (S2 Playset) Animal, (S3) Zoot, and then (S4) Janice, and possibly (S5) Lips. I agree that it would've been better to bump back Sam the Eagle and replace him with Rizzo. All we can do is hope that Ken explains his position and hope for the best. Besides, we know that we'll get Janice next year either in Series 4 or 5. Now, all we need is the series where regular Rowlf will appear. In the meantime, Janice & Mokey's Man, I suggest you just relax with a big helping bowl of Bizzo's Bat Chow.

The Count.

Luke
08-03-2002, 04:05 PM
But Janice hasn't even been sculpted yet has she ? I guess they are only just beginning that seeing as we saw the first glimpse of Rowlf only about a month ago. I think it's more she is being put back because Henson have wanted Rizzo to be a main character in the line and encouraged Palisades to do it. Moving Sam back wouldn't make as bigger impact as Janice - keeping her back means people are waiting to complete their Electric Mayhem collection so they will be anticipating it more and stay into the line.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ahhh... I see I haven't lost my tactful ways. :D

Now then, re-stating that: a series where the BIG STARS are Sam the Eagle and Janice has "shelf-warmer" written on it. A *LARGE* percentage of the collectors buying this line are buying sets off the Internet from toy dealers. Casual fans are going to see a set with two characters that are familiar, yet not big stars, and two greatly obscure characters, and say "Pass". Whereas they're going to see Series 5 with two MAJOR ALL-STAR characters, and say--"COWABUNGA! GIMME!" So why not spread the love around? Rizzo is guaranteed to sell sets of Wave 4, and the regular Gonzo is guaranteed to sell sets of Wave 5. Because Gonzo is the second version of him released, he may not be quite as popular... so what better way to ASSURE sets are gonna fly off the shelves than to include the last and 3rd most popular member of the Electric Mayhem?

I know some people are disappointed they need to wait a bit longer for Janice, but we need STAR-POWER to assure sets sold to assure the line continues. And besides, in a knock-down, drag-out street fighter, Rizzo would take Janice down every single time! :D

I kind of agree with MaxGoof in that now both Series 4 and Series 5, if they stand as what we know it to be with its changes so far, might be a better sell. Now Series 4 has a semi-bigg gun in Rizzo, a main secondary star in Sam the Eagle, and two obscure or supporting characters in Dr. Julius Strangepork and Link Hogthrob. Series 5 will be even more coveted because of its extremely heavy hitter, Janice, not to mention Gonzo with Camilla, Beaureguard, the Muppet Newscaster, and Reporter Kermit. Plus there's always the possibility of Black Shirted Animal popping up in either Series 5 or 6 as an exclusive. BTW: Hey, Dr. Gorry, a quick question. How do you plan to defend against the force of Greenia, my fierce FrogonKnight combo or the Dark Magician's Dark Magic attack?

i really don't hate rizzo but i wouldn't want to chance this line with not having a Janice in it. i would rather be safe then sorry, if the line only goes to five,we did get some cool figs and complete sets. the big deal would be no statler and waldorf, and stage with sweetums and robin. but if janice is not in the loop well there maybe some ticked off muppet fans...

sure they wouldn't be are beloved vets H and bear on patrol or are thogy woggy but the set would be still be a good run with lots of great cassic figs. but this is if the line only goes to 5.

This talk about "what if the line doesn't continue" scares me. Why wouldn't it continue? Isn't the line doing well? I think the time betwen waves might actually hurt the line. People want their collecting on a consistant basis. They schedule their paychecks around waves, so when wave 1 comes out and then other waves are postponed, I worry that the public might foret easily. (Short-term memory and all.)

Janice is absolutely one of my favs, and if we don't get the entire Eectric Mayhem, there really might be **** to pay. Why are they doing away with the stands? That was one of the best ideas for the figures. At least make them available via the Collector's Club or something.

MuppetQuilter

Last official word, to my knowledge, is the line is doing about how it was expected to do. I know that doesn't say much, but if you think about it, it's good. Palisades clearly believes the line will be successful and will build momentum and continue for a while. Thus far, it is on target. Sure we'd all love to hear it sold out as fast as the figs came out of the boxes, but as long as it meets expectations I think we are fine.

Has Ken or Mike said Janice will be bumped? Or did they say someone will be bumped and we've assumed it was Janice? Do we know Rizzo is replacing the bumped figure, or is that an assumption as well. Before we panic, maybe we should make sure we know what is going on?

Phillip updated the figure release list to replace Janice with Rizzo. Ken had hinted on the board that Rizzo could be moved up as soon as possible because Henson want him on the shelves, he also said that two figures were being moved back. I take it Phil has changed the list according to off-forum information from Ken.

As for the line continuing, because of the sale and how the Henson company could be changing nothing is really definitely set in stone for the future - not even the TV deals, DVD's, merchandise or as we've seen, peoples jobs. Taking away the 'outside factors' though, things as you say, seem to be going as expected for Palisades and they don't seem to have a need to worry just yet.

Well, Dr. Gorry, it's my turn. I draw the Baby Dragon and lay one card face down. My Dark Magician is still on the field and wishes to perform a little magic for you with the help of the Magic Box. First, the magician enters the box which lays at the feet of your Blue Eyes. After you destroy the box, my magician is defeated. Or is he? With the magic words, A La Peanut Butter Sandwiches, open the box to reveal your own Labyrinth Tank decimated by the Blue Eyes attack. Now my turn is over. Perhaps we can summon Janice from her slumber with the aid of both magic men, namely my Dark Magician and your Time Wizard, after we finish our duel.

So this is still speculation, so far as we know. Before we panic about Janice, let's wait and see what Palisades has in store for us. I have no doubt Janice will be made and I don't really see them sitting on her for long-- not with the rest of the band out.

It's not Rizzo's fault Henson is pushing for him. They have their own needs and expectations for the line. We can guess all we want, but we don't know what is behind Henson's desire to get Rizzo out right away. Far as I can recall, the rat has never been anti-Janice. I think about the only problem Rizzo has with Janice is she's not a rat and she's already got a guy. :p

Well basic reason is that Rizz is of course one of the mainstay Muppets they use to anchor the TV shows and movies around. This wave will debut a similar time to the Fox TV show so the more people who see Rizzo on the shelves will be curious to watch him on the TV, and likewise the other way around.

So basically this is a good move for all as far as i can tell, although Byron will hunt me down for saying that.

Well if thats the case(about it debuting around the time of the tv show) I think a MUCH better strategy would be to include Pepe in wave 4, seeing as he'll be one of the main characters, and of course the scene stealer!

Bad move, Dr. Gorry. By using the Time Wizard you sped up time on the entire field. True, my monsters are aged, but so's your Blue Eyes. And besides, my Baby Dragon is now a Millennium Dragon who destroys your aged Blue Eyes wiping out all your life points. But thanks to the Time Wizard's spin we have our entire figure line completed with all the figures of all the characters we'd like, including both Rizzo and Janice, and even Lips. BTW: I know and watch the Yu-Gi-O show on WB. The Magic Box attack to take out the tank came from the 3-part Labyrinth duel episode. The attack submitted above came from Joey's duels against Mie and Rex Raptor.

I'm sure we can count on all the big guns next year including Rizzo, Janice and probably Pepe. Ken expressed a lot of interest in him a while back. I just wish these were 8 figure waves!

In Portugal only six episodes of Muppets Tonight have been broadcasted, so I haven't heard Seymour talk at all... I only know Pepe from MFS... I would prefer a Van Neuter Figure rather than a Seymour one... And after Pepe, Bobo should be the MuppetTonighter to come out with the older Muppets...

12 - Rizzo should come with Muppet Food since it seems that the food coming with the Kitchen is not Muppet Food... Let him come with a Talking Sandwich for Gonzo too.

We are panicing cause we DON'T know what's going on!yes Janice will come out, we are not saying that this line will go to 10 series and not have janice. What we are saying that if this line goes to only four series we won't have a janice!

Hi Zach, wow there's another muppet fan named zach on the fourm! I spell my name both ways with either an h or a k at the end.

Yes, i thought the line was doing well too and if it is I feel there is no need to swicth anything, I think Ken said they they may have the stands for sale threw the Collector's club and that the figs will have holes in there feet for them.

Zack)Rowlf the, who think this line will do well so see's there is no need to change from the first idea in series 4, Dog.

None of my figures really need the stands and I'm glad they will be done away with. They are the only part about the figures I don't especially like. Kermit may need one and Ken has said those who may need the stands in the future will have them. i jsut hope they will be smaller. Now maybe they can add even more stuff in the packs! I have a box of 9 bases right now! Eeek!

Hey, Dr. Gorry, since you've got better sight than I do then maybe you could answer these questions.
1 What are the five special pieces needed to summon Exodia?
2 What two pieces does Yugi still have thanks to Joey fishing them out of the ocean?
3 This one's more of an opinion. Do you think it's a good thing or a bad thing that Yugi doesn't have Exodia in his deck anymore? I ask this because of the possibility of Pegasus using his ToonWorld card in their final duel, should that be the tournament's final match.

Have a great night, the Count.

I think the stands look very nice and keep the fig's safe at that.

Miss Piggy could fall over very easy if she didn't have one, and i don't think i even need to bring up Kermit. plus i would like them all to look the same, i have my bunsen on his stand in the lab with beaker next to the lab strapped to the experiment table.

Zack)Rowlf the, i'm fine with them not coming in the package as long as they can be sold on the site and the figs have holes in there feet Dog.

Does your Bunsen need to be in a stand - it seems kind of bulky to have in the lab set? I just think they are kind of large. Yeah, my EB Piggy exclusive has had troubles standing (and such figures will have stands in the future) but placing a miniscule amount of kneeded eraser on her heels does wonders and it is invisible. It also adds traction making her nearly as sturdy as she would be on a base.

One of my Kermits has had trouble, but once I bent his legs back a little bit and widened his stance he stays up just fine.

Luke

Hey Jamie,

I agree with you that stands aren't essential pack-in's although as you say, the figures that need them packed in will get them. I do though feel that as it was Palisades that started the whole stand thing giving them with every single figure in one and two, they should offer consumers the choice to continue to display their collection that way, for the sake of continuity shall we say.

I raised it with Ken and he pretty much agreed on the idea of offering the stands as optional extras for both members of the club and non-members. I guess he is going to work out how it can be arranged and asked whether we want the logo on the stand or not.

You might already have read all this, but from what you said it sounded like you may not have, so forgive me if i've gone over old ground.

no Bunsen doesn't need the stand to stand up, and he fits in the lab just fine with it.

I don't know, i just feel they are more safer on the stand and have a more display look to them.

i would rather have a diffrent color for the stands, red might be way too clashy and look funny but it would give it a red curtin muppet show look to it, but i guess black is best and yeah they are kinda big but that's how there are, and i plan to use them rather then packing them away for no reason or throwing them out.

Yeah, I guess its more for continuity than anything. I don't mind not having the stands for the playsets, just for the ones that might need them. But if they are going to do that for them, then I am all set!

If it is true that Janice has been pushed back, then I am disappointed. I'm primarily interested in collecting the Electic Mayhem (and Gonzo w/trumpet, Rowlf, Lips?, etc) above all other characters and variations. I imagine there are many people who feel the same, especially since the EM playset is most easily applicable to multiple figure setups and so many band members have been released in the first 2 series.

Although I am getting progressively sucked in to collect one of each character...and I understand why Rizzo needs to be included for broader appeal...

But I'm all for Janice ASAP!
