Hey guys, I thought this would be a fun little idea. Who do you think are each of the performers' signature characters? I'm thinking in terms of just the classic Muppets here. This is what I think:
Jim Henson: Kermit
Richard Hunt: Scooter
Dave Goelz: Gonzo
Frank Oz: This one I'm having the most trouble with, I'm thinking either Piggy or Fozzie
Jerry Nelson: This one I'm also not so sure about. Jerry never really had any main characters. His were always just kinda background characters, like Floyd, Robin, Crazy Harry, and Lew Zealand
Steve Whitmire: Rizzo
Kevin Clash: Clifford
Bill Barretta: Pepe
Go ahead, post your ideas :)

hmm...on Frank, I would probably say Piggy, just because that's who the general public knows most.

I would say Jerry Nelson's signature character is Floyed because thats who I think of when I hear Jerry Nelson's name.

I couldn't pick just one character per performer, so I picked two. It depends on if you are picking on popularity of character, or on the connectiveness between the character & performer.
Jim Henson: Kermit the Frog / Rowlf the Dog
Frank Oz: Ms. Piggy / Fozzie Bear
Dave Goelz: Gonzo / Dr. Bunson Honeydew
Jerry Nelson: Floyd Pepper / Count Von Count
Richard Hunt: Scooter / Junior Gorg
Steve Whitmire: Wembely Fraggle / Rizzo the Rat
Kevin Clash: Elmo / Clifford
Bill Barretta: Pepe the Prawn / Bobo the Bear
Brian Henson: Sal the Monkey / Dr. Phil Van Neuter
Carroll Spinney: Big Bird / Oscar the Grouch
Karen Prell: Red Fraggle / Yolanda the Rat
Fran Brill: Prairie Dawn / Zoe
Marty Robinson: Telly Monster / Aloysius Snuffleupagus

Hey, don't leave out Louise Gold. Her best known character of course is Annie Sue Pig, I guess that's the one we should call her signiture character. But if we going to choose two signiture characters then I'm not sure whether to pick: Raisin (from SLOT 0 she's very versatile), Big Mama (from TMS - she's such an outrageous character), Lou-The Jugband Lady (also from TMS), Fughetta Faffner (from The Ghost Of Faffner Hall), or, Ethel Mermaid (from Sesame Street - that's just so typical of Louise's vocal abilities).
