Wembley is my favorite! But his hair doesn't have any yello, its all orange and greenish!

They are great! They are the Sababa plush toys arent they?

I wonder if they will be bringing any of the Sababa plushes into Australia. I know they had a few of the muppet ones at a bookstore called borders, now they only have animal and piggy left and piggys hair is all tangled and there still $30 each.

Am I the only one who doesn't care for the way Sababa Fraggle plushes are design? I much perfer the 80s Hasbro versions. I do own the red fraggle from that era. :excited:

Well I love the new ones, I have
Gobo
Mokey
Wembley
Boober (in the box)
Red
Uncle Matt
And the Doozers From Hasbro!
I love Sababas Fraggles, if you hold them and look at the faces they look exactly like the real Fraggles! I love the hair also! Instead of yarn!

The dolls look too cute. As though the company that makes them want the younger generation to think these are "Fraggle Babies" or something
like them

If you see these Fraggles somewhere in Sydney, please contact me as I would love to buy them. :)

I agree with you. They've been "plush-isized" a bit too much here. I have the complete collection of Fraggle dolls from the Tomy company from the early 80s, and for the most part, I've found those to be the most faithful dolls made of the Fraggles. I say for the most part because the Tomy Wembley doll, cute though he was, didn't quite mirror his TV show counterpart in appearance. So actually, in defense of these new dolls, their Wembley seems to be relatively on the money. And their Boober looks pretty tight as well. But what's with their giving Gobo long-ish hair? Even in the first version of Gobo displayed in the earliest episodes of Fraggle Rock (before they gave him shorter hair, eye lids and a vest) his hair wasn't that long. I don't want to be nit picky, but that detail bugs me. Any way, to make a long story longer, I agree with you.

Aww, I so want a Wembley doll. So cute. ^-^

Thing is, I don't know if there's even a Hot Topic in my area. -breaks out a phone book-

Here's hoping that eventually they'll perhaps create a Cantus Fraggle doll. -crosses fingers- He's my favourite, right there alongside Wems.

I can't wait to get these - especailly Boober! Anyone know when the Swedish Chef and Janice plushes by Sababa will be arriving in stores? And will Hot Topic be carrying them, as well?

I'm tellin' ya, kids, nothing would but me in a world of satisfaction more than somebody putting out a line of Sam and Friends dolls. It's gonna be the Muppet's 50th next year, after all. And while I'm dreaming, I'd like the Electric Mayhem to perform at my next birthday party.

They'd better go through with the whole thing and release Mokey too.

I just grabbed Boober today and I'll get Wembley next week (still need to get the Doozers though). And I agree that these are very realistic-looking. The hair & fur especially. The hair actually looks like real Muppet hair.

Wembley's hair was a bit surprising though. His hair is two-tone streaked, which doesn't match up with the real thing. Perhaps he dyed his hair to blend into Hot Topic better?

Could anyone tell me if there's a place on the net that sells the Sababa Wembley plush? I just checked eBay and Hot Topic's website but could only find the Red doll.

I think Suncoast is carrying Fraggle dolls now, too. I saw the plush at Hot Topic downtown at Peabody Place and they look great. I didn't realize there were 3 different colors of hair in Wembley's head!

hi, I think they are doing a pretty good job on the Sababba Fraggles. The Hasbro ones were too "fat" pudgey like little babies :). They were well made though. The Tomy Toys ones looked more authentic, but they were cheaply made (poor fabric and construction). I do hope Wembley's hair is the right color. Thanks for letting us know they are in stores now. :)

If you can't find them in a store near you, just pick 'em up off FraggleRocker.com.

June 13 I fianlly got my Fraggles. I went to see Garfield at the mall and then after went the Hot Topic. I really didn't know where they were being sold at the time and keep seeing the Hot Topic being said everytime about the Fraggles. So I bought Gobo and Wembly. Since I had waited a long time until I had know they were sold there I didn't get Red. She was already sold out. Boober was there but since I didn't want to spend that much money on 3 Fraggles (12.99) I bought Gobo and Wembly. Sunday I went to the mall again and bought Boober. I'm glad I have 3 Fraggles now. I was happy when I bought and so was the person who cheaked me out at the register she was saying bye to them and saying "have a nice trip guys." I thought it was neat someone else thought the Fraggles were cool. :smirk:

We were in Salt Lake visiting my grandme and unfortunately the local Hot Topic didn't have them. Hopefully, our local one will.

And I noticed that hottopic.com is selling a few SS shirts ... are these being sold in store as well, or are they just a website thing?

A tip for those of you who, like me, don't want to get anywhere near a Hot Topic and also cannot find the latest dolls at Suncoast:

I picked up the Wembley and Boober dolls today at the Borders where I work in Dallas. We also had the Red and Gobo ones, but I decided to hold off. I dunno if this is a common occurance chain-wide, but it's worth a look if you can't find the dolls anywhere else.

Whats wrong with Hot Topic? Are you affraid of the color black or people with more than one peircing? Its an alternitive lifestyle, you don't need to be apart of it, but don't put it down or be affraid of it! Im a normal clean cut light brown haired guy, I shop at hottopic (fun stuff), it doesn't mean im going to get possesed, nor will you for going into a store! If you go into an over sized clothing store you don't gain weight, if you walk in to a mothers to be store you wont get pregnant! Don't be affraid or put something down if you don't know about it!

It's against my better judgement, but I'm going to respond to that...

I have nothing against Hot Topic or the people who shop there. I just don't want to shop there. There is nothing in that store, with the exception of these recently arrived Fraggle dolls, that I would ever consider purchasing. But not even the arrival of these dolls would cause me to wade through the sea of teenagers that I see in my local Hot Topic locations to get one.

Nothing personal to you or anyone who shops at this store. I just have no desire to shop there. Please don't go looking for connotations within a post that do not exist. Thank you. In fact, I'd be most grateful if the whole topic (which is rather off topic from original topic of the newly arrived dolls; I only responded to clarify the situation for you) is dropped.

Now, back to topic:

Wembley and Boober are current occupying spaces on each side of my monitor on my computer desk. It's curious how the eyes and hair on the Wembley doll makes him look much taller than the Boober doll.

I actually work at Hot Topic now! LOL...fits me perfectly.

The coolest thing is, I get 40 percent off on the Fraggles (and everything else they might get in!)

Oh--and guess what? You know the band Boston?
They came into Hot Topic tonight when I was working!
They're playing tomorrow night here in Toledo...
It was crazy!

If there's any Boston fans out there, I just wanted to tell you!

Cindy Chapman

Boston?!

As in "More Than a Feeling", Boston? That's so cool. My parents used to have their first album on 8-track (showing my age here) and I listened to it all the time.

I'm surprised that you recognized them. It's not like they're mainstream anymore. They could probably walk around the mall and not be noticed by one single person. Except you, I guess.

Did they buy anything at Hot Topic? I would have offered them a Fraggle plush, at 40% off of course.

Groovy.:sing:

Zondra

LOL...Yeah, the real thing "Boston". I drove by the ampitheatre where they're playing earlier, and all the radio stations' vans were there to cover the concert. I smiled to myself, "Heh...I already met 'em, and I didn't even have to pay."

The lead singer guy bought a black straightjacket, seriously! He told us he never wears that type of thing and that he wanted to freak out his bandmates etc...I wish I could be there to see him wear it.

I finally got Boober a cople of weeks ago. He's the coolest one I've seen. I never had a thing for Boober except for Sidebottom. I hope they come out with him.
