Beauregard

Hi Guys, can you help here?
I am wondering what happened to Beauregard. Why hasn't he spoken for years? Could Dave just not do him anymore? Did the public not like him?
Help would be apreciated.

I remember seeing him speak on "Muppets Tonight, When he was talking to a female guest star at the end of the show (I don't Remember who it was though) and he said "Uh, here's the keys. Make sure you lock up when your done. Thanks." :) And I don't mean to go off subject, but since where talking about Muppets who are no longer or rarely seen........Did they get rid of Crazy Harry because of Violence reasons and 9/11 reasons ? :smirk:

He was also at the end of the Tony Benet (sp?) episode.
He probably hasn't been used because their hasn't been a show for him to be used in and he really doesn't fit in the movies (except GMC).

This is what I thought. He was in dozens of scenes, and I am happy for that, but why couldn't he have one tinsy winsy line? His most prominent appearence is when the bad lady (can't recall her name just now) says they have to leave, and says Pepe can come work for her.
Why couldn't he have said something?

but here is a good point.
ponder apon this...
dave is the only original muppeter, not including steve.
He is the last original left and he isnt even doing all his characters, surely we want more original voices than people trying to mimic others?
i mean zoot hasnt talked in a while either!

Oh yes! I remember that now. I was hopping up and down with excitment at that part of the movie. "Beauergard!" I like it. "Beauregard!"
Oooh, maybe I'll get the movie back out. It's the only time in the movies he is called by name, isn't it. "Beauregard."
Oooh. I'm so excited again. "Beauregard. Beauregard. Beauegard!"
How nice of Kermit to remeber him.
"Beau-re-gard."
Me likie!
*looks around*
Sorry about that.

That is a good point, though Zoot didn't really talk that much before either. Just SEEING him would be nice though. Bunsen seems to have come to the front more lately. I was surprised how many times he and Beaker on MT.
Beau really should be featured a little more. In AVMMC they were in the theater and there were plenty of places for him. But when you add new characters you have to let old ones fall to the side.

Beauregard along with Zoot (last speaking I remember is in Muppet Treasure Island), Floyd ("Hey man!" in Muppets From Space), Crazy Harry (Was the last time he spoke really in The Muppet Movie?! I can't think of anything else), Dr. Teeth ("Shalom!"), and Rowlf (a few grunts and small words in IAVMMCM) definitely need some more speaking parts.
At least Crazy Harry, Zoot, Floyd, Dr. Teeth, and Rowlf have a mini-game in Muppets Party Cruise. Beauregard has nothing in that game! Although, even though those characters didn't have much to say in IAVMMCM, at least we were lucky to have Janice, Scooter, and Lew Zealand say something.
Dr. Phil Van Neuter also needs some more screen time (I've only seen him in Muppets From Space)

crazy Harry sings in muppets take manhatten wedding scene.
And also in treasure Island, zoot voice is different.
whats up with that?

I think it's probably because Zoot hasn't spoken in years (since like maybe Muppets Take Manhattan).
Another Muppet that needs some more involvement is Lips. I mean, he barely had anything to say at all in the earlier days except "And me!" during the Great Muppet Caper end credits. Although, he did have a cool trumpet thing in the Muppet Family Christmas Jingle Bell Rock number
