I recall in the fall of 1981,when the Muppet Show characters began appearing regularly in the local newspapers,Saturday colour comic strip section.But they only lasted until February of the following year,when they were replaced by Garfield.However,yesterday I came upon some old Muppet Show comic strips from the early 1980s,on the internet.They were samplings that had been drawn by an artist by the name of Guy.The section was titled Muppet Comics For Sale.I believe the website I found it on was Gilchrist Studios Online. :sing:

I'm not sure where you'd find them (possibly ebay) but there's a couple books that compile these strips. They were published in the early to mid 1980s. I have one called "Froggy Mountain Campout" or something like that at my parent's house. I can't remember the exact title. Anyone have more info?

Does anyone remember the comics in the old Muppet Magazine? I remember Chore games, and Mildred Huxtetter was the teacher, and the muppets were all students. They had hours of homework a night, including to learn Sweedish... the Chef chimes in with "Looky merr! Yeer alroody know Svedish!" Piggy and Kermit go to the source and find out that Sam the Eagle's behind the homework over load because not doing homework is "Unamerican"

You know, I actually have some of the Guy & Brad Gilchrist books. Back in elementary school in the '80s, they had them at bookfairs and book orders and I read 'em to bits. :)

Oh, wow, that's cool! I remember they used to have "Winnie-the-Pooh" in the Sunday comics too. Unfortunately it stopped being in just before I started reading the comics. :( I think it's pretty cool Berkeley Breathed is bringing Opus back to the Sunday comics! I also enjoyed the comics he did for "Secondhand Lions." Good stuff. Anyway, that's cool that there were Muppet comics! I didn't know that.
